A Seamless Smart Security Upgrade
I’ve been on the hunt for a reliable outdoor camera system that’s low-maintenance and integrates smoothly with my smart home setup, and the Aosu SolarCam kit paired with HomeCortex has exceeded my expectations. After a couple of months of use, I can confidently say this combo is a game-changer for anyone tired of constant battery swaps or clunky installations.Setup Simplicity at Its BestRight out of the box, the ease of setup blew me away. No more wrestling with wires or fiddling through endless menus. I simply added HomeCortex to my account via the app—took about two minutes—and it automatically detected and added both SolarCam units in the kit. They synced up flawlessly, pulling in my Wi-Fi details and positioning preferences without a hitch. If you’re tech-averse like me, this plug-and-play magic makes the whole process feel effortless.Crystal-Clear Video and Nighttime BrilliancePicture quality? Outstanding. The 4K resolution captures every detail, from license plates on passing cars to the texture of leaves in the wind, even in broad daylight. But where it really shines (pun intended) is at night. The built-in spotlight is incredibly bright—think stadium-level illumination without the glare. It lights up my entire driveway like it’s midday, deterring any would-be lurkers while providing vivid color footage. No more grainy black-and-white clips; this kit turns darkness into an advantage.Smart Motion Detection That Actually WorksThe AI-powered motion detection is a standout feature. It distinguishes between people, pets, vehicles, and irrelevant stirs like wind-blown branches, sending tailored alerts to my phone only when it matters. False positives are a thing of the past, and the customizable zones let me focus on high-traffic areas like the front porch. Pairing it with HomeCortex amps this up even further, allowing voice commands through my smart speaker to arm/disarm or review clips on the fly.Solar Power: Truly Set-It-and-Forget-ItOne of my biggest worries was battery life, but the integrated solar panels have kept everything humming without intervention. Even on cloudy days, they’ve maintained a full charge, meaning no more climbing ladders to swap batteries mid-winter. It’s eco-friendly and hassle-free—perfect for covering a whole property without constant upkeep.Overall, the Aosu SolarCam kit with HomeCortex earns a solid 5/5 stars from me. At this price point, it’s an unbeatable blend of smarts, reliability, and convenience. If you’re building out a home security system, skip the headaches and go straight for this. Highly recommended!

Outstanding 4K Security System
I’m extremely impressed with the AOSU 4K SolarCam P1 Max system. It has genuinely exceeded my expectations. The 4K video quality is incredibly clear day and night, and the HomeCortex AI features make the alerts smarter and much more useful by recognizing faces, vehicles, and unusual behavior. I love that it includes 32 GB of local storage with the option to expand up to 16 TB, so I never have to pay monthly fees or rely on cloud services. The dual solar panels keep the cameras powered effortlessly, and the built-in siren is a surprisingly effective deterrent when the system detects suspicious activity. Setup was simple, the app is intuitive, and overall the system offers exceptional quality and value. Highly recommended for anyone looking to upgrade their home security.

Good quality, Great Customer Service, adjustable motion detection, good zoom quality, notifications
The cameras were very easy to install, the secondary solar panels keep the cameras fully charged unless there are several days of no sun. but have not experienced extremely low batteries even with a few completely cloudy days. I had one camera that was having periodic issues when I tried to pull it up in the Live mode. I used the customer service chat in the App and the response was quick and detailed. After some additional testing suggested by customer service it was determined that the camera had an issue. The camera was replaced quickly within a few days. I will be reinstalling the new camera and testing it this week. Since I have not had any issues with any of the other 6 cameras, it may have just been a glitch with one camera. I recommend these cameras, and the customer service has been the best I have received with any similar product. Picture quality is also very good with the ability to zoom. Motion detection is good and very adjustable, to eliminate false alarms, such as trees moving, etc. There is an App for my Mac, and works as well as the iPhone app. Overall very pleased to day.

Poor battery life and no 24/7 recording.
Cameras have good video and audio, good WiFi connection, night vision works good, however the battery life, at least without using the secondary solar panel (which we haven’t tried yet since we don’t want to put more holes in the house if it doesn’t even work), is terrible. Even when the cameras are in sleep mode they don’t even last a week. Being in the PNW we don’t usually have a lot of sun so we have to pull these down every few days and plug them in to recharge. Also these do not record 24/7, only for a moment when triggered by motion. So it was misleading that they pop up in a search for 24/7 recording, and are able to expand the hub to a larger capacity is pointless if you can’t record to it for more than 60seconds at a time.

Excellent 4K Security Camera System
I’m very happy with this AOSU 4K UHD security camera system. The packaging was solid and well-organized — every part was securely protected in foam, and nothing felt cheap. All accessories, cables, and mounting hardware were included, which made setup a lot easier. The cameras themselves are high-quality and sturdy, and the 4K video is incredibly clear. Even small details like faces and license plates show up sharply. Night vision is also surprisingly good.Installation was straightforward, and the instructions were clear enough to follow without any issues. The base unit paired quickly, and the connection has been stable without random disconnects.Overall, this system offers excellent video quality, easy installation, and reliable performance. For anyone looking to upgrade their home security, this is definitely a great choice. Highly recommended!

I have been using 5 different AOSU cameras and and my experience has been consistently positive. Their customer support has been outstanding; even when an issue was on my end, the support team was patient, knowledgeable, and guided me through the solution thoroughly.I am particularly pleased with this model because it does not require a subscription and allows the use of memory cards for storage, AOSU cortex is awesome. I value reliable security without the burden of ongoing monthly fees. The app also makes it convenient to view all cameras simultaneously or individually, depending on my needs.Installation is straightforward, with clear and well-written instructions, something that is often overlooked but greatly appreciated. The image quality has always been exceptionally sharp, and AOSU continues to improve it. Must buy!!!

This is actually my second set of Aosu cameras, and that alone should say a lot. Setup was just as smooth as the first time, especially with the Aosu Cortex, which connects everything quickly and keeps things running reliably. One thing I really like is the expandable storage option, it’s nice not being locked into monthly fees and being able to add more space if I need it. The app is free and super easy to use, with a clean layout that makes checking footage or live view feel effortless. Overall, it’s been a stress-free experience and a solid upgrade that I’d happily buy again.

setup was simple and installing the cameras was quick. However one camera will not charge properly and keeps going offline. I have messaged Aosu about this and have not had any response, so far. The one camera that is working has good picture quality day or night.Have received email from Aosu with some suggestions on how to fix problem.I have received a replacement unit and it is working ok. Once they answered my inquiry and some simple tests were performed Aosu determined that replacing the unit was the best course to take and the new unit arrived within 5 days.

This is my 7th set of Aosu cameras, which speaks strongly to my satisfaction with the brand and product. The setup process was just as seamless as my first experience, particularly with the Aosu Cortex, which connects all components quickly and operates reliably.I especially appreciate the expandable storage option, as it provides flexibility without locking users into monthly subscription fees, while still allowing additional storage as needed. The free app is intuitive and well-designed, making it easy to access live views and review recorded footage.Overall, the experience has been smooth and stress-free. This system represents a solid upgrade, and I would confidently recommend it and purchase it again.

First time using camera’s and these were pretty disappointing, while video quality is great, that is about it:1) Battery consumption & life is terrible. I purposely got solar because I didn’t want to deal with charging manually all the time. I feel like I’d be manually charging less had I not got solar cameras.2) Solar panels on camera itself are pretty useless, they barely charge even with direct sunlight. A red flag I ignored was when I first used the app, it notified me they would offer free external panels because in some circumstances the built-in panels were not enough. Pretty much seems like all circumstances.3) Had to use the external panels and even with those I’m having to manually charge once a week (after spending another $100 or so on additional mounting hardware to ensure good sunlight with the external panels). This really chaps me because I have to get out a ladder to access most of them. The one in my backyard will remain uncharged for the winter since it would be such a hassle to get to it all the time.4) Even in sleep mode they don’t last more than 10 days (have one sitting inside unused that would not get any motion detection). Not a realistic scenario, but just another indicator of poor power performance.5) They have features like being able to set up zones for detection, but that also seems useless. It still detects things outside the zone.6) Often the events are delayed, only catching the tail end and sometimes missing them entirely. Once had somebody come to my house and didn’t detect them at all pulling into my driveway. A couple minutes later, I pulled in and of course it detected me, but not the strange vehicle .7) The person recognition is not great. Most of the time I’m detected as a stranger even after merging multiple captures of myself to try to train it.8) Snow sets it off. First time it triggered an event every minute for about 15 minutes. Seems better now, but still happens occasionally, so maybe it “trained” itself?9) They advertise “no subscription” which is true, but it seems about 75% of the time when you get a notification about an event, it takes you to the cloud view even when you don’t have a subscription so you have to go into the local view to see the events. Just annoying.Support was fairly responsive, although my last inquiry about 2 weeks ago is still unanswered. Full disclosure, I haven’t contacted about everything above because my main concern was the power. I might still see what else they can do because the day before my return period was up, they indicated they would “take care of me”. We’ll see. Wish I would have returned at this point though.
