Fantastic Dehumidifier
One of the best dehumidifiers out there, in my opinion. I bought this to control humidity in my music room which is located above my garage. I live in the South and we have terrible humidity especially during the summer. As most musicians know, keeping guitars, drums, violins, etc. at relatively constant humidity is very important. This does the trick and has kept the humidity in this room at around the 45% range with little fluctuation. Before I installed it, I was seeing humidity peak as high as 65% in this room. It does require a way to drain the condensation so you have to have the ability to run a condensation line to the outside. I did mine by having the humidifier drain into an automatic pump that then pumps the condensation through a hose to the same drain my HVAC system uses. It was easy to do and efficient. It is not exceptionally loud, pretty much the same as any AC unit, so you would need to turn it off if you planned to do any music recording. I don’t record for anything important, so it doesn’t concern me. Also, it came with two washable air filters so even that is easy and simple. Excellent choice for the DIY guy.

Works great and quiet.
I installed the unit in an insulated/sealed crawlspace (1700 sq.ft.) with humidity levels around 80% or higher. Easy to setup, and humidity levels consistently around 45% now. I used the included duct collars to run 10” flex duct to increase circulation. I purchased AprilAire because the unit was going under the master bedroom and I wanted a quiet unit. It is very quiet. I used a washing machine drip pan, a quality condensate pump, and the risers included to complete the install. Everything works great together. I have a Bluetooth humidity/temp. monitor in the crawlspace that I use to monitor humidity. After two months I am pleased.

Simple installation
I purchased this to replace the previous unit that died after 8 years.Works great, even though it might be bit of overkill in terms of capacity. I chose it as the ductwork connections were identical to the old unit.Since I was replacing an April Aire unit, the duct configuration needed no changes, nor did the plumbing. The electrical connections were the same, so I simply sandwiched the wires between 2 layers of blue tape, pulled then out of the old connector and inserted them into the connector on the new unit – no mixup, no worrying about crossing wires.From opening the box until turning it on I spent less than 40 minutes. Literally anyone who can turn a screwdriver can do this.

Excellent dehumidifier
This is an effective unit that is easy to install. I replaced a Honeywell unit that had failed. Power and ducting was in place making the installation quick. Routing of the condensate drain is critical. A continuous downward slope is required. Delivery was fast and the package contained the parts, as shown.

The seller/equipment is great.The Amazon delivery driver delivered them upside down and on their side despite the multiple labels all over the boxes, if you know this equipment you know that it can’t be like that due to the compressors inside the equipment.

Great Dehumidifier
I bought an AprilAire E080 Pro Dehumidifier from CrawlSpace-DYI about three months ago. Amazon said delivery would be in about 3 days, but it took 9 days by UPS. Aprilaire has a great reputation for dehumidifiers and has great phone tech support. It’s a great dehumidifier from a great brand at a great price. I put mine in the crawl space under our house. You can set it to maintain a certain relative humidity level, but then it goes on every 60 minutes to sample the air. I wanted to shut it off at night so I don’t hear it humming in our bedroom when we sleep. Instead of crawling under the house, my work-around was to put a cheap wifi smart plug on it so that I can program it on and off with my cellphone. I also put a wifi remote thermometer with humidity reading down there so I can see when the humidity is high enough to turn it on. Some times of the year the humidity is fine without running it.

Packing strap to secure during shipment was melted into the compressor sealant. A poor factory QA process. Working well, quickly removing moisture from new home. Dropped humidity % readings from 60 to 45.

Prompt shipment, product as described, well packed. Installation and operation as expected, I am not using optional features just out of the box for room dehumidification in my basement. So far the unit is working well and is pretty quiet. I hope it lasts longer than the ones from Lowes and Home Depot.
