Aqara Did it Again!
UPDATE:I’ve now had this bulb for some time, and I’ve got to say… in simple terms… reliable. I’ve since bought a few more bulbs, and I have some with Zigbee and some with Thread protocols, and I’ve got to say both have been flawless for me. Now, granted, if you’re building out a smart home, your reliability is based on your setup. Take into account that these IoT devices are communicated via a radio frequency of some sort. So, if you’re having issues, move your hubs around if you’d like more reliability. It could be that something is obstructing or interfering with your hub to the endpoint (i.e. light bulb). I added these bulbs to my Apple Home. They work much better with my Inovelli smart dimmer (white series) than other bulbs that didn’t work in my environment.Week 1: This light is an excellent product, as always! It supports both Thread and Zigbee protocols, which is great for flexibility. It’s very bright, and I was able to set it up with Thread without any issues. The Zigbee setup was also straightforward, using the Aqara app. I like the On/Off Transition feature that allows me to turn on/off the bulb with a delay. I can edit this setting within the Aqara app. The colors are vibrant, with the warm white and white colors being particularly brighter. The light is responsive and has been reliable so far. If it continues to perform well, I’ll be purchasing more to replace some Nanoleaf bulbs that I’ve had trouble with. I highly recommend this light, regardless of whether you’re using it with Thread or Zigbee.

Works after updating firmware to ZigBee
Review Update:After connecting to Aqara support, it seems that the firmware on these bulbs needs to be updated and switched from Matter to ZigBee. During setup, there small print in the middle of the screen (see that attached screen shot) that allow you to reflash the firmware and switch the bulbs from Matter to ZigBee.After reflashing the bulbs, they connected without any problem to my Aqara hub and then showed up in Apple Home immediately afterward.Original review:Does not work at all. I have an Aqara hub and an Apple Matter hub.The Aqara iPhone App see the light bulb but fails during setup every time. Also fails when trying to add directly using the Aqara hub via ZigBee.

Great Apple Home/thread light bulb
I use Apple Home for my smart home, and I only use products that don’t require an extra hub, so I was excited when this Aqara thread bulb dropped. No issues with packaging or delivery, but the set up within Apple Home took about three tries before it finally connected. I’ve had it for about two weeks now and no issues so far. I can control it seamlessly within Apple Home, it works great with Apple Homes adaptive lighting, it responds immediately when I control it with Siri, and works with automations. I think it’s a good bang for your buck, especially if you want an alternative to the pricey Phillips Hue light bulbs. If you mainly use Apple Home and want to avoid buying an accessory that has to be used with their own hub, this could be for you. 4/5 stars due to initial set up; Overall recommend.

Not ready
The lights put out nice and bright light in most colors. I really do like them.Zigbee support is only somewhat working and often refuses to fully turn off with a transition set. Matter support is laggy even with a border router 10 feet away.I feel like these were rushed out and neither protocol works well. I’m putting them away as I hope a future update fixes them and I want to support Aqara as most of their products are pretty good. For now, I’d say wait and look at Hue or Innr.

Perfect Philips Hue alternative and is Home Assistant compatible
I’ve been using Philips Hue bulbs for years and have about 40 of them throughout my home that are all controlled through Home Assistant. I decided to try this Aqara T2 bulb as a replacement, and I have to say, I’m impressed. I provided a few photos to help. You’ll see the Aqara T2 next to the Philips Hue bulb. The color temperature and brightness are spot-on compared to my Hue bulbs, which is important since I rely heavily on adaptive lighting for circadian rhythm support. The bulb color accuracy is great as well and actually looks more accurate than the Philips Hue in certain color ranges. Take a look at the red, green and blue accuracy in my photos. Another great thing is that the Aqara T2 as a higher lumen rating (950lm) than the Philips Hue (850lm) which is always a plus. The Aqara integrated easily into Home Assistant, once I switched it into Zigbee mode, and it has been rock solid ever since. The only small downside is that you need the Aqara app to change the bulb from Thread to Zigbee. I don’t use Thread devices, so Zigbee was the better choice for me, and once that was set up I had no need for the Aqara app at all. From there, adoption into my system was quick and painless. At a much lower cost than Philips Hue, these bulbs are a fantastic value. I’ve already decided that as my existing Hue bulbs need replacing, I’ll be switching over to Aqara. I also use a bunch of Aqara’s motion sensors, contact sensors, and temperature/humidity sensors throughout my home, and they’ve all been reliable. If you’re looking for a cost-effective, high quality alternative to Hue that works perfectly, this is absolutely worth it. Highly recommended.

Extremely stable, better than wifi bulbs
I’ve got a ton of smart bulbs in my house. What I’ve learned is that wifi bulbs are always touch and go, but these bulbs used in Zigbee mode with an Aqara Hub (I have the camera hub) works great and they never ever go offline unless their hub does. Very pleased. More expensive than some other options out there, but I almost don’t mind due to the stability and convenience that comes with the stability. Nothing worse than resetting wifi bulbs because they’ve gone offline.

These bulbs at this price can’t be missed! They seamlessly integrated with my existing Aqara products, as well as Google Home and Alexa. I recommend, if you can, getting a Zigbee hub, as these work even without internet connectivity! The color accuracy also rivals that of pricier brands like Philips Hue. Great product!

Great bulbs. They expand my zigbee network, which is important to me, since I want a robust network, but I mostly run smart switches instead of bulbs. (I have lots of fluorescent lights to control). These allow me to make sure the zigbee devices I have get a nice little boost since tel hey are directly powered.I have them in two basic ikea lamps on my nightstands. I removed the pull strings, so the lamps are always on. I control these bulbs using Aqara mini switches, which I program through Home Assistan. Since they are Matter capable, I also can control them through HomeKit without any extra effort.Great lighting, good colours and a price you can’t compete with. Phillips can’t touch these. At this point, using Hue is more a sign of having more money than sense. These are significantly cheaper and have better colour range and CRI.

Matter対応のスマート電球が欲しくて購入。Aqaraさんのスマートデバイスを持っているのでアプリを増やす事なく連携出来た。設定も簡単で大満足です。
