Ease of installation and looks great
Was a perfect fit for my thermostat. Was easy to install on the wall prior to placing the thermostat on it. Makes it look great on the wall with the backplate on it. Went with the black.

Wall plate for Ecobee thermostat
This wall plate is a must have piece when installing Ecobee smart thermostat. It really dressed up the thermostat with matching color. It was installed without problems as all the predrilled holes matched up well with the Ecobee Smart Thermostat. This vender’s price was the least expensive on the Amazon list and I recommend it 100%!

Iffy install.
I like the nest backplate better. The nest plate had a level built in so you knew if it was mounted correctly.

A better looking trim plate.
Although it seems to be designed for an earlier version of the ecobee thermostat, we made it fit and it looks better than the original (which had our HVAC installers logo on it).

Looks deceiving
Fit and strength seem fine. Finish of it is not good. Has that layered 3d printer roughness with a few of the extruded plastic bits frayed out. I was expecting a smooth tooled plastic finish.
