this is a very cool alarm clock I use daily. and it has nice sound effects too

Alarm snooze malfunctions randomly
The alarm snooze will turn itself off intermittently. No pattern of when this will happen. Clearly that is not an acceptable functionality when depending on alarm to wake. I’ve tried contacted Emerson twice about this situation with no response either time! Very poor customer service. I do not recommend this product due to the alarm misfunction and poor customer service. In addition, the clock has too many unnecessary settings. I would have settled for that complication had the alarm worked properly. Please don’t waste your money on this product.

Not Dim – Great clock, but it glows too much at night
Dealbreaker : Dim switch is more like a less bright switch. If you want a dark bedroom, skip this. Which is sad otherwise this is an outstanding clock radio. Buttons are easy to use. Setting alarms is easy. It’s sets the time itself. You don’t need your phone, but who wants this sitting on your bedside table with a towel over to stop the light. The description says faint, but it is bright in a dark bedroom.

Good sunrise clock
Fun alarm clock. Can set two alarms. Good snooze button. Can set a bird call or horn like alarm to sneak up slowly, with an increasing sunrise glow – great for not scaring the heck out of you first thing. Great purchase.

Satisfied but not flawless
I replaced a no-name sunrise clock with this Emerson. I’ve had it for about a month and overall I am happy with it. I plugged it in and it automatically set the date and time (WWVB). I just had to change the time zone, which the manual clearly explained. Unlike the no-name one I had, this one’s manual is fairly clear and and complete. As I bought this before DST started, it was nice to see this clock automatically update when DST began. There are some things which let it down, though:1) The no-name one had amber LEDs which would automatically dim based on the light in the room. This one does NOT automatically dim and at its lowest setting it is still fairly bright in a dark room. Not so bright I can see it with my eyes closed, but any brightness above the lowest setting is much too bright for a blackout bedroom.2) The quality of the prerecorded wake up and white noise are essentially of “AM Radio” quality. I use the FM radio alarm which sounds fine to me.3) The sunrise effect starts 2 minutes before the alarm goes off. The no-name clock allowed you to configure the number of minutes before this would start, but this doesn’t seem to be configurable on this clock.
