The perfect brew for us coffee snobs💕
Exactly what I needed!!!! I’ve been grinding my coffee separately for a few years. Last year, I saw this GEVI coffee maker on their website -but it was a bit pricey. However, I knew I wanted to get it. Imagine my delight when I found it here for a lot cheaper!!!Onto the review:For the sake is transpency, I had to order this coffee maker twice. The first time it was delivered. It was badly broken. It looked like someone dropped it and then still boxed it because the packaging was fine. It was easy to return.I reordered and the second one was perfect! Now, the instructions say not to leave beans in there. So for a few weeks, I would scoop out just enough beans. Now, I just fill up the bean area and it’s good for several pots.I will say this, I’ve had a Keurig for about 10 years, so I’ve gotten accustomed to only the specific amount of water programmed to be used. The GEVI works like an old school coffee maker, it’s going to brew all of the water that’s in the reservoir. So if you only want 6 cups, that’s all you need to put in, otherwise you’re gonna have very weak coffee ☕😂. BUT also like the old school coffee makers, the warning burner stays on even after brewing! My dual Keurig’s (pot and single serve) burner cuts off immediately. So I was pleasantly surprised with the GEVI.The removable filter is easy to clean. The warmer stays on for a good period of time.I haven’t used the program feature since I don’t have a regular schedule. The strength feature is easy to use. Overall, I’m happy with the purchase.

Coffee Maker Defective Major Water Leak
Initial quality was very good. The coffee pot is a bit flimsy, but once you adapt to that it is just fine. The programable timer works well and it is easy to maintain. I recommend using paper filters as the plastic screen filter included works well but is inconvenient to hand clean and the grounds difficult to manage. The reason for poor rating is my unit is defective and leaks like a sieve. The defect occured less than three months into the unit going into service. Very disappointing. I have contacted customer service for a refund or replacment.

Very good coffee maker and price
I have owned Capresso grind and brew machines for 30+ years. The quality gradually went down to point in which my last machine was total garbage. The Gevi coffee maker is an excellent replacement for such. It is reliable – it was always a mystery whether the Capresso would work. The Gevi had a funny taste even after the suggested “break in” – running 2 pots of water through. I then ran a pot of vinegar through the machine followed by 2 pots of water. This solved the taste issue. The coffee is very good now. I suggest using the darkest (strongest) setting to get the best tasting coffee. One shortcoming is that the water tank is at the rear of the machine and thus one needs to move the coffee maker out from under cabinets to fill it each time. Also, the opening is relatively small and one has to be careful to avoid spilling water all over the counter. I also prefer to use a paper filter to avoid the need to clean the permanent filter. Overall, I recommend this machine because the other machines on the market by name brands are either a pain to clean, of poor quality or ridiculously expensive.

Failed after 3 months.
Great coffee maker until it failed after three plus months. I found out by doing internet searches that there is a known issue with this coffee maker maker: it has a seal at the bottom that fails. When it does, the water you pour into the reservoir leaks from the bottom of the machine and thus onto the counter and floor. Not cool as I prepare for my Christmas guests. Past the 90 day return date at Amazon so I am stuck with trying to deal with the company’s customer service. Not expecting much. Meanwhile I guess I will follow another customer’s suggestion and buy a plain drip coffee maker and separate grinder. Unbelievable how cheaply things are made today.

It can leak!
At first it made good coffee. Then all of a sudden, the water I put in drained out everywhere from four small holes in the bottom. Since it was a sealed body, there was no way to diagnosis or repair. I threw it out. A waste.

The blooming setting look for it!
Bought it brand new and works great! The 1st cup brew was phenomenal. The reason I bought this brand was that I noticed it had something called pre-infusion (the non grinder one)…..in this grinder machine they call it the “blooming” setting. You are really gonna have to study the user manual to find this setting because it is buried in the button and not obvious at all.. I feel like this is the most important thing a coffee maker should have!!! and yet they are not advertised first and foremost in coffee machines. basically this soaks the beans to get a rich bold taste that emulates a slow pour over which is the way to slowly extract the beans to get the best flavor!

Great machine with a few warnings.
This is a beautiful coffee maker. Solid and well built. Great quality. Easy to use, easy to program. This thing really functions well. It is quite a bit taller than your standard coffee maker, so be certain to measure before purchase to ensure it will fit in your space.I’ve been using this for the last week or so with different beans and here are the reasons why I’m not rating this product higher.1) The hopper that holds the coffee beans is fairly small, meaning I’ve had to refill it often.2) Even when selecting the finest grind and the darkest brew level, the coffee still comes out a bit weak for my taste. In my opinion the most important feature and the is the biggest reason I couldn’t rate at 5 stars.3) This is a 10 cup coffee maker. For most folks that works great but I do have to make two pots every morning so that the coffee drinkers in my family each get enough. Most coffee makers now days allow you to brew 12 cups. Those extra two cups usually cover us.I like this coffee machine but the fact it brews weak coffee is a real bummer. I like my coffee strong so my guess is that for people this will not be an issue. When it ultimately dies I will pick a completely different model.
