Incredibly cool lighting.
I had intended to get the regular version of these light bars, but these were on sale and they are really good looking. I’ve never watched Evangelion, I grew up in a much earlier era of anime. Dating myself a bit, but I watched Robotech when I got home from school back when it was on broadcast TV. That said, I imagine I probably would have liked Evangelion too, had it been around back then. But as for the lights, I have a couple other things from Govee that I was very impressed by. And to be fair, I’m probably a little old to be farting around with these kinds of lights, but whatever. I enjoy it, so I don’t care.These things are very well built, easy to put together and set up, and are really, really good at what they do. They look just fantastic, and you can do pretty much whatever you want them to do. Software is very easy to deal with, and it’s no issue syncing them up with any existing lighting you’re already using in your PC.And yes, the packaging is really, really impressive and darn cool. It was almost a shame to have to mess with the presentation they did with these. But yeah, if you’re looking to do this kind of lighting rig, you’re not going to be disappointed with Govee’s stuff. Everything I’ve done with their products has been hassle free and looks just awesome. Top notch, for sure.

Blown away.
I was iffy on buying these. I’m generally pretty cheap with the rgb I have in my setup going for the lower 15-20 dollar options. I got a notification that the 6 pack for these was on sale and bit the bullet.These are so sick.Obviously from other customer reviews and pictures you can see that the lights are cool, but they absolutely nailed all of the other little things as well. The unboxing experience is insane. The box is a nesting doll style shell where you peel back layers of texture to get to the middle. The lights themselves are gorgeous with an integrated magnetic snap on system for the diffusers. Obviously you can tailor and customize the lights to be whatever color you like, but the box includes a custom qr coded card to unlock evangelion themes that are 10/10 directly out of the box. I can not recommend these enough.

Good for a couple kits or if you plan to have a bunch plugged in, but they max out at 12 or 20 l
These were great after buying one kit… then I added a second kit.. and then was going to add a couple more to complete the wall for the game area… only one problem, it does say you max out at 12 on the description per adapter.. I assume the power adapter?However I did not know this and continued to add to the existing kit, which I tested on the app and it lit up multiple kits, however their software in the APP can’t recognize more than 20 on one power circuit… I looked back in the pics of the advertisement thinking, they had tons of these on the wall, LOOK closely, you see a black power cord coming up to EACH section of lights…Now thats fine, I have multiple unused power cord/boxes I can use, however the light bars have a Left and a Right, the power only connects via ONE side of that light bar. So I disconnected my long expansion over top of the windows, to split the unit into TWO, go to connect a second power on that side of the windows to the 120v outlet, and here the power adapter doesn’t fit the connection that way. I’m going to have to rip off all of the light bars on this half side of the windows and flip them around the opposite way, OR 9 feet up in the air have to connect the power to the very top over the windows :/ Definitely a bummer. Not sure how the app is going to respond to two kits or more hooked up, will it look like its all one and on the same color scheme or two separate ill have to pick the same scheme on each govee device?As others have complained about the fact that included you only get a couple middle connectors, a square 4 way and a triangle shaped 3 way, this severely limits the configuration as one person may need several triangles only and the next might be doing all box/90 degree turns and not have enough. They don’t sell the connector parts separately either so you buy more kits with more lights and may not use all of them so you end up just hooking up whatever you can however direction you can do it. See last photo, one power connector lit up this whole section so far that was going to continue down on the left side, however the software of the APP showed an error of more than 12 or 20 connected and wouldn’t do anything.I removed the triangle shape connector at very top over the windows to attempt to split this up into two sections, but the power connector to add a 2nd at the bottom of the left side of the windows isn’t compatible with the connection coming out of that last piece.. there is a top/bottom to each piece and I’d be forced to hook the power cord connector to the top most piece over top of the windows…Good ideas but not well thought out for this product for sure especially to expand more than just ONE like in many photos you see of these online.(Updated) Switched everything around to utilize two separate power port connectors, one on left, one on right “my original”, however now i have TWO separate devices in the govee app, i named LEFT and R. Not sure how or if there is any way to sync them together. i have to go into each and pick the SAME custom settings or else they’re not the same colors or motion… maybe someone else has some better experience with multiple sets.Leaves a lot of be desired, because like others have said, the G in Govee for the center connections is 100% always upside down, which doesn’t bother me, but the connectors always have to be a specific way where they could have made a universal connection for all, versus the two i’d call “male and female” connector pieces. Govee needs to sell a customization kit to sell more center connector parts and the male/female connectors too. If you are working with multiple kits and trying to make some fancier layout, it feels like everything starts fighting you here as if they engineered this to work as ONE kit only and not really supposed to expand it.My idea was that ONE kit connected together could be set in the settings, there is a pre-set that looks like its shooting a rocket or colors down the pattern, you can sync to sounds too so like if theres a loud bang in a movie, game or boom in a football game, the color would shoot from one side to the other… good ideas, just cant execute them here.Started with one kit, was fine, but already realized very limited on configuration alone. got a second one, seemed no better, still limited and so i got 4 total now and running into more issues, can’t connect them all to one, frustrating.

Great lights
Lights are very bright and vibrant and super customizable.

These lights are so awesome! I was skeptical at first if the purple Evangelion theme would suit my gaming room, but after putting these lights up, I think they add a nice touch to the room even when they’re off. When they’re on, they’re just indescribably cool. I love that the lights inlayed into the bar and the middle can be different colour’s, and the light designs pre-loaded as well as the options to find or create your own design is so expansive! It’s a very unique product that adds so much to the room and I often find myself just starting at these lights. Even the unboxing experience of this product was premium and unique, you can tell govee really cared about this product, it was better experience than unboxing any collectors editions games I’ve bought. I had a slight issue with one of the connector pieces burning out and not working within a month but govee customer service was on point. They sent me a replacement set of lights within a couple of days and it was back to normal! These lights are so worth it! 5/5 product and 6/5 customer service/support!

I would say these are the most dynamic of the many Govee lights I own. However when in music dreamview mode they aren’t which is disappointing. Other lights strips allow the light to travel through with the music however these just flash on with no flow at all. In all other modes they are very cool, but I really feel like they should upgrade the software for music dreamview mode.I’ll also mention the shapes you can make are very limited. Also, they sit very tight to the wall making it VERY difficult to remove them without the 3m tape damaging the wall. So I suggest laying out your pattern before mounting and make sure all your male/female ends line up – this can be tricky.
