Quality hardware firewall for a small business
I own my own business and although I have dedicated IT security professionals I sometimes like to do my own network upgrades. That’s what led me to order this product. It’s a VPN enabled hardware firewall for up to 50 users and internet speeds of up to 500 MBPS. It comes with a year subscription to UTM Gold security services that include sandboxing, DNS reputation, anti-malware, ransomware blocking, web filtering, application control and IDP security services. I don’t really need these in my line of work but many (if not most) businesses can benefit from them.Setup is easy and you can administer the device remotely. If you have more users and/or need to support more bandwidth and faster throughput you’ll want to upgrade to a more robust device. Assuming that the specs of this device work for your use case it’s a solid pickup. Highly recommended!

Web GUI Just Randomly Starts Spinning. Reboot Required. (No WAP Support, Yet) [Really?]Same as the review from Some guy on the InternetSame as the review on the USGFlex500H from DT.1/18/2025. Firmware V1.31 ABWV.0 2025-01-09.-Web interface (at times) just spins. It will not quit. You may have to wait overnight. You may have to reboot the unit.-With a 5-minute boot time, in a business environment, we can’t be just rebooting the main network piece of equipment so the GUI comes back online.-No Wireless Access Point Support. That was a poor decision. EVERY unit ZyXEL has made for the last (4) [perhaps 5] releases have had this. Now they pre-ship this without the feature? -NOT cool.-WAP support is said to come in Q1 of 2025.-The ZyXEL NXC2500 (and NXC5200) are well past end of life. With No replacement and no support for WAPs on this firewall, what is an organization supposed to do?Just an all around poor experience.

Reliable and Robust Firewall for Demanding Work Environments.
I ordered the Zyxel ZyWALL USG Flex 100H Bundle for my husband’s business, and he says it’s more than up to the task. While I don’t know much about network security, it’s clear that this has a sturdy build. He mentioned it was able to handle the high demands of his work environment without a fuss. The included 1-year Gold Security bundle is a fantastic value, offering comprehensive protection like ransomware blocking, anti-malware, and web filtering. My husband also mentioned how easy it is to manage with Zyxel’s Nebula Cloud.If you need a secure and reliable solution for a small to mid-size office or job site, this is a great pick! Highly recommend!

NO Routing Discovery Protocols, limited settings, Forced LAN2 on port
No router discovery protocols! Cannot use BGP, RIP, OSFP, or any other router detection protocols. You have to statically enter all connected subnets to be found on other connected routers, and the gateway path associated with it.Device not ready for market!! Config is lacking so many standards that ZyXel has maintained in the past. Lacking almost all tech docs still too!!! DO NOT BUY!! I am stuck with this model now, past return point. It took me too long to figure out they left out such a basic and crucial configuration. Like leaving bread off of your PB&J, you don’t expect such a forehead slapping stupid idea to actually make it through testing and product development. I have no Idea what they were thinking. This is a horrible $1.1k paperweight!

Beware it’s not as good as the other FLEX 200 (non-H series)
As of today (4/2024) with FW: V1.10(ABWV.1)- Web interface is huge and childish (old web interface was way better)- Only 4 interfaces available (that you can re-assign to different group of ports)- Only P1 and P2 are 2.5Gbps capable ports…I’m not sure I like this yet, might stick with the USG FLEX (non-H) series!

Fantastic and Packed with Features
This firewall is a bit overkill for my home, but I feel so much more secure having it. It’s loaded with features and provides excellent performance. The 1-year Gold Security Pack is a great addition, covering anti-malware, ransomware blocking, and web filtering. Setup was easier than I expected, and the Nebula Cloud management makes it simple to monitor everything. Definitely worth it for peace of mind!

If you are in the market for one of these, you know exactly what you are looking for. This is an excellent firewall enhancement and the included one year of service really makes this a great deal. This is a product for professional, not home use.
