Very nice printer and easy to use!
My old HP printer had reached the end of it’s life after over 12 years. So I purchased this one to replace it and to go with my new computer. It was easy to set up and works very well. There are YouTube videos online that tell you step by step how to set it up.

Great printer, BUT… BE CAREFULL ON THE INSTANT INK PROGRAM
I only buy HP printers….why? Because they work so darn well and hook up sooooo darn easy….. Had this item before and used it at another home I was at….. HOWEVER, BUYER BEWARE….DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO THE INSTANT INK PROGRAM HP OFFERS……..IT IS PLAGUED BY PROBLEMS EVEN I (a computer geek) FOUND DAUNTING…..I almost went to a different company, like Canon, for a printer BECAUSE of the INSTANT INK problems…..

Reliable printer devilishly difficult to set up
Setup was maddeningly difficult, made more challenging because this replaced a similar HP printer that we had had for 10 years. So we had to disconnect the old software connection from our two laptops to connect the software for the new printer. After frustrating attempts to follow the online instructions, we ended up on the phone to HP customer support for ONE HOUR!I do have to say that the woman in customer support, based in India, was extremely patient and, in the end, got both of our laptops connected to the printer. If not for HP Customer Support, I would never buy this product. So I hope HP realizes that they only have such a large market share of home printers because of their human customer support.This is a sophisticated, good performing printer for the price but HP makes its money on the expensive ink cartridges. To use ink NOT supplied by HP, you have to install a different chip (comes with the ink from the alternative cartridge supplier), something that I, as someone technically challenged, don’t want to attempt.If you sign up for a monthly plan with HP instant ink, where the printer tracks the ink you use and orders more as needed (and charges you extra if you exceed the number of pages in your monthly plan), you get 3 months free and Amazon sent a coupon for an extra 3 months (6 months total). At first HP didn’t accept the Amazon coupon when we entered the number, but the woman who helped us saw the email from Amazon and got us the full six months.

Great purchase
I purchased 2 of these for our home office. They were easy to set up wirelessly and easy to use. I love the fact that I can use it to scan and print. It also will print on both sides of a paper automatically. My last printer required that you manually feed the paper for double sided printing, it’s a small thing but it saves time. It is an excellent product at a good price.

What can you say about HP printers really? They are arguably the industry leader and they’re the most universally supported brand on the market. I’m on a Linux machine and HP is the only one I’ve found that just works without any extra screwing around. The ONLY thing I had to do was change the protocol from IPPS to IPP in order to connect wirelessly. Nice printer, great scanner.

The printer was so easy to set up and I’m very happy with the printer functionality and the features available to me. Knock on wood, it’s been 100% reliable for all my printing and scanning needs. It is a huge upgrade from the old HP printer I used to have.

Caution: Bad printing after installing Instant Ink
I really like this printer. It perfectly meets my needs. It came with a small amount of ink to get me started.I decided to do the Instant Ink program. The first batch of ink took some time to arrive.I also signed up for the paper program. They sent me about 150 sheets the first time. It is nice paper.I got the Instant Ink cartridges and we have had trouble with them drying out or something. If I run the troubleshooting to clean the ink cartridges, then it prints fine. PROBLEM IS that under Instant Ink, your plan is a set number of pages/month. I went with 50 as I do not print a lot. BUT with this ink problem, I can get a page printed correctly followed by a half page of garbled print.I will return to update this review after HP figures this out and figures out how to compensate me for the badly printed pages.

it has paper tray feed vs rear feed which is one big appeal for me plus it holds more than rear feed often allows for. the tray holds up to 225 sheets which is more than i usually put in there at time and so far it’s working great

The printer worked fine out of the box however, be aware of 2 things.The scanner cannot scan 2 sided documents using the document feeder’s duplex feature, because there is no duplex feature offered on this model, according to HP Support. The HP website seems to indicate that it is possible, but it is not.The glass size is not large enough to scan a legal sized document, the only way to scan legal is through the document feeder. Measure the glass size and make sure it works for you before ordering. It is large enough to scan a letter sized document 8 ½” x 11.

This printer is very difficult to set up. It took over 3 hours to get it set up and running with my system.
