The first step to getting the best results from your new Lepro LED Smart Strip lights is to download the Lepro Application to your smartphone. This application Is designed to work with multiple numbers of Lepro products in your fully integrated Smart Home through Alexa/ Alexa+ or Google Home App.To begin set up, add a device; In this case it would be the Lepro LED Smart Strip lights. The rest of your set up will be done using the app, it prompts you right through, making it easy to follow the set up process.The light strip arrives in the box neatly wrapped around a reel, so it’s ready to go. There is a power adapter, and a switch/voice controller unit that has the “smart” electronics in it. Everything is in very high quality white plastic.Installation:You can cut the lights to fit, but once you do, the part that you cut without the power leads is useless, as Lepro doesn’t have the splice power to the strip kit. It is recommended that you buy the light strips in the proper lengths, so be sure to measure your intended run carefully and get the closest pre-made length for your project. The lights are only designed to be installed on smooth surfaces. Walls with rough textures, wood or concrete won’t work. It is also recommended that you do not make sharp bends in the “tape” that holds the LED’s. (90 degree bends)Appearance:The light strips aren’t really designed to be visible. Good LED strip but vendor lacks public API support.
The lights are easy to setup but do require an app if you want to control them remotely. A button on the controller does allow local control to an extent. LEDs are placed about 38mm apart which is pretty good for most applications. You’ll likely want to diffuse the lights as they are just bare.One thing I wish was better is if there was a documented API. There appears to be an API but it is not publicly documented or supported. This limits integrations you may want to do and for this price point I feel is a necessity.

Teenage gamer approved. That’s the headline here.We put these in a teen bedroom setup and they immediately passed the two hardest tests: (1) “do they look cool behind a desk/monitor?” and (2) “do they do the rainbow chase thing without looking cheap?” Yes and yes. The segmented colors are the reason. You can get multiple colors moving at once instead of the whole strip being one flat color, and it makes the room feel way more “built” and less like you taped Christmas lights to the wall.The white options are actually useful too. A lot of RGB strips are great for vibes and terrible for real life. These do warm-to-cool white (2700K to 5700K), so you can switch to a normal bright white for homework, building a LEGO set, cleaning the room (miracles happen), then flip back to moody game lighting later.A couple things to know before you buy:You can’t cut these. Measure your space first or plan your path so you’re not stuck with extra strip you can’t use.No remote. It’s app control. Once it’s set up, it’s fine, but if you’re the type who wants a clicky remote on the nightstand, this isn’t that.It needs 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi for the smart features, and it only works with the Lepro app they specify.Not for outdoors, since it’s not waterproof.Setup was straightforward, stick it up, plug it in, connect in the app. After that, it’s easy to change scenes, dim it, set timers, and play with effects. Music sync is fun too. Slightly ridiculous in the best way.If you’re lighting a gaming setup, a bedroom, or any spot that needs instant mood, these are a great pick. The effects look surprisingly polished for the price, and the usable white light makes it more than just “pretty lights.”

Functional, practical and attractive lighting with a lot of controls
The lights are easy to set up, have a good range of colors and strengths, and the attached adhesive is very strong. The app is interesting with the modes available, and it integrates well with my Google nest devices at home. The only minor annoyance is that the link between the software and Google isn’t perfect, so you can’t use voice to control all of the functions, but that’s a minor gripe since I wasn’t using it for that purpose. The provided 16 feet of light is a good size to cover a lot of space, as I use it to illuminate the desk space under a loft bed. The material holding the lights bends pretty well, without any visible wear or damage to the circuitry. All in all, very useful for what it is, although they could probably adjust the price a bit given they have nearly double the length for only a few dollars more.

I ordered the 5m Lepro smart LED light strip. Simply put, these are fun! I have a dark corner in my basement without any overhead lighting. I had been thinking about possible solutions, but a 5m strip turned out to be perfect because I ran these from the nearest electrical outlet and then placed the strip along the top of the wall where the wall meets the ceiling. I set them up with the Lepro app, which is relatively easy to use. But there is a lot of functionality in that app that I don’t even know what it does yet! I know I only scratched the surface with the possibilities. One thing I noted is that you can customize the colours in five different segments. I thought this would be ideal for someone stringing these up in a living room. Imagine being able to pick the ideal lighting colour for every holiday. For now these lights will help me out of a dark basement situation, and I’m so thrilled with the results.

These LED strips turned out way better than I thought they would. The colors are bright and smooth, and the adhesive actually sticks well even on slightly textured surfaces. Setting them up was simple and the remote works without having to point it directly at the sensor which is nice. They make the room feel a lot more cozy at night.
