    Love this Keyboard!
Great keyboard! Easy and comfy to use. The keyboard I use at work is exactly the same one and I love it so much I decided I wanted one for home also. Other than it being wired, I would definitely recommend it.

    Expensive But Nice
This is a wired, ergonomic keyboard. It is well built and works flawlessly.

Excellent but could use a few adjustments
I ordered this after two Adesso wireless ergonomic keyboards failed. So far, this keyboard is doing well. The USB cable is long enough so it doesn’t clutter my desk. I was used to a keyboard with a lighter touch, but am getting used to this heavier touch. Being in my 70s, I urge the manufacturers to make the white lettering and numbering larger. When typing and I glance down, it takes a few seconds to confirm which number or letter I’m aiming for. There’s room on the keys for this to be done. Pause/Break could be switched with Print Screen, and the center divider could be a bit narrower. To solve the faint lettering and numbering problem, I bought English Keyboard Stickers Full Set Big Letter, Universal PC Computer Laptop Desktop Keyboard Replacement English Keyboard Stickers, Black Background with White Lettering-2 Pack. The combination is just right.

It is all what you are accustomed to…
Not like my former keyboard, and for me – it’s an uphill climb.

    Flat keyboard not ver ergonomic.
I didn’t like this product. It is flat. Not as good as my older model. I am disappointed. Sending it back.

    Disappointed with key spacing
This product is for home use. I was using the Microsoft 4000 keyboard and decided to upgrade. It works fine except the keys are spaced differently and hard to get used to. For some reason I’m having trouble with the ‘caps’ button. It keeps coming on while I’m typing, Very irritating. This did not happen with the 4000 keyboard. Otherwise, that is the only complaint. I’ve been using this new version for many months and the cap button comes on when I least expect. Very annoying.

Minor typing adjustments, but worth it overall (from a Natural 4000 fan)
I work in IT. I type. Constantly. I’m also a young Generation X so I took a typing class in 7th grade. I touch type. And since I do it for a living I do it relatively quickly. It’s part of my livelihood. I spend a lot of time every single day on a keyboard, so a good one is a necessity for me. I was a big fan of the Microsoft Natural 4000. I bought at least 3 or 4 of those things in the last decade. One would break, and I’d just buy another. Well, they cost about $300-$400 now so that’s no longer economical at all. I figured it was time to try the next iteration. I researched and researched. I tried the Surface keyboard. Didn’t like it. I tried the “sculpt” keyboard…also didn’t like it. I used the macros and key assignments with my old keyboard, and I use them a lot so I was looking for a keyboard I could continue to do that with. The LXM-00004 does that. In fact, everything translated in the software.Typing Differences:The F6 button moved to the left hand side of the split. The C, X, and V keys for someone hit differently now. I’m not sure why. If it’s their angle or what, but I made some mistakes the first week with those, till my hands adjusted. The backspace button is smaller. Not so small that I miss it when I reach for it, but it is smaller. The arrow keys are bigger. Again, not so big it throws me off, but it’s noticeable.Smaller Windows key. I use Win+R, Win+X, Win+E, Win+V, I used to use Win+Shift+S and Win+. (more on that later) and they resized or slightly shifted placement of the Windows key (or both), so after having spent so many years on the 4000, I do occasionally miss it when I reach for it. I’ll get used to it, but that’s probably my biggest typing related complaint about the redesign.Number lock was moved from the top row of the number pad to the top row of the center column. So it sits above PgUp on this keyboard, which seems odd and unintuitive to me, but it has a tiny light on the key itself to indicate if it’s on or not.Feature Differences:You can read about most of these in the keyboard specs, but there’s only 3 fully programmable numbered hotkeys now instead of 5 on the old 4000. However you get a dedicated screen capture button. Which was not raved about enough in this device’s marketing and was one of the things I used to build a macro to do for the programmable keys – now I get it built in!All the usual media keys for volume and playback, a task view button and a dedicated lock button, which I’m training myself to use. The handy volume up/down/mute keys are all still there, albeit in different spots.Yes, there’s also an “office” button. I could’ve done without this. I never use it. Or at least haven’t used it yet after a month of owning it. And they shrunk the Windows button to make room for it.The emoji button…OK, that’s kinda fun, I’ll admit. It just brings up the little fly-out menu that the Windows key + the period key (.) used to, and still does, only now you have a dedicated button for it so it’s no longer a cool sneaky cheatcode that hardly anyone knew about. All the functionality for programming buttons is still there in the Microsoft Mouse & Keyboard Center. I highly recommend leveraging this software if you buy any keyboard with macro/programmable functionality. You can reprogram the media keys if you feel the need to but not the “Application” button, although you can disable it. And you can turn the emoji key into a right side application key if you’d prefer to do that, but those are its only options. There’s also a dedicated search button (I never use) and a calculator button (which I do use). The middle column buttons are for the most part identical. Home, Delete, End, etc, all in the same spot. There were things about the 4000 I never used. The Zoom scroll in the middle of the keyboard, was something I never used and isn’t on the LXM-00004. Same with the “My Favorites” button, the Web/Home and Mail buttons on the top left of the 4000….I never used any of those ever, so they did cut some of the fluff from this one in actually beneficial ways too. Overall it’s the first new ergonomic keyboard since 2005 that I don’t hate.

¡¡Perfecto!!

I really like this keyboard. It’s easier to reach the Alt and Ctrl keys. It’s also more comfortable to write on it. The Alt key on the right side is not there. I’m using Linux Mint and in Linux Mint you can transform the AltGr key to a Alt key. But you must pay a cost for that. You don’t have a AltGr key after that. If you can live without it then you have a very good keyboard. The Office and Emoji keys can with difficulty be used to other things. But the best is to wait until Linux Mint has done something with the Office and Emoji keys. Those keys are new so it will take a while. I have never used it with Windows so I don’t know what you can do there.

I was really disappointed when my Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 finally reached the end of its life and I found that it was no longer available to buy. Having been using that keyboard for about the last 15 years, I was certain that I wanted another one like it.Having looked at the available options, I eventually decided to give this a go. And does it do the job? In my opinion, yes it does. There are a few niggles:- It has fewer assignable function keys (essentially just three, compared to eight on the 4000) but I’ve managed to come to terms with this.- A few of the keyboard layout changes are taking some time to adjust to, the biggest being the new “menu” key left of the Windows key. For some time I kept pressing this instead of the Windows key, but my muscle memory is slowly getting used to it.- The left shift key is very small, but in practice I’ve actually had no issues with this whatsoever.- I was initially unsure about the Emoji and Office keys, both seeming fairly pointless. I’ve found the Emoji key is occasionally worth a press, and the Office key increased in value once I realised you can use it as a shift key to launch various Office applications (e.g. Office+W for Word, Office+X for Excel, Office+T for Teams, etc.)- It seems to attract quite a lot of dust but is also easier to clean than the 4000 (particularly as there’s no fiddly “zoom” slider to deal with)- There are no “legs” at the back of the keyboard to tilt it towards you — this keyboard is evidently intended to be used flat, or tilted away from you with the provided front stand. Personally I’ve always used it flat so this is no issue for me.A few new keys include quick access to Snip & Sketch, one to display open applications and desktops (equivalent to Windows+Tab), and a “lock computer” key — all useful, but already easily available via keyboard shortcuts anyway.Overall this is a purchase I’m happy with. I think the design is a little more conventional than the 4000 was, but it’s still a comfortable replacement.

I got this to replace my broken Microsoft Ergonomic 4000, which was iconic at the time. I’ll mostly compare it to that. This keyboard is very similar to its predecessor though brought into the modern age, even bringing an emoji button. At first I thought of this as a gimmick though admittedly I’ve started to find it a good time saver. 😁The central bulge is less pronounced than previous iterations, though the feeling is about the same.I prefer the key layout quite a bit. Everything is a bit more square and lined up straight now. That uniformity has helped me learn this keyboard more quickly than expected and it feels good to use. I’m currently missing a few keys, especially the control keys and symbols though am quickly adjusting. The hot keys are more sensible than the 4000 and I think I’ll likely use all of these. It’s solid and sturdy and feels well grounded without being overly bulky. The keys are very quiet for their height, making it a good option for offices or wherever you want to not disturb others. In particular, although it doesn’t have a split space bar, it’s very easy to press quietly from the edges now.The wrist rest is very classy and feels very natural. Going back to the 4000 now feels a little gross for some reason. The software doesn’t allow you to remap the Office key, which is frustrating.Overall very happy with this. certainly the best keyboard I’ve used. I’ve started to miss it when on other computers.
