Noisy but, the other benefits outweigh it
We’ve had humidity issues in our home for a while and, after a water leak, finally decided to spring on the purchase of a dehumidifier. We’ve been using this Midea 5500 sq. ft. dehumidifier for several months now and it has performed wonderfully. During the summer months, we had it running 24/7 and it would take about 18-20 hours to fill the tank, which holds several gallons of water. It held the humidity in the space to around 45-50%.One of my biggest complaints with the unit is the fan noise. We tried it in our living space and had to raise our voice to talk over it, even on the low setting. My second complaint is that there’s no fail-safe for activating the tank pump when the tubing isn’t present. Unknowingly, one of the kids (11 YO) turned on the pump and it ran for 24 hours putting gallons of water onto a carpeted floor before we realized it. Fortunately it helped dry it all back out.One of the things that I do really like, compared to other dehumidifiers I’ve used in the past, is that the air coming out isn’t HOT. It does kick out air that’s a little warmer than the ambient air but, it’s not blowing out hot air.Not a primary factor in my decision to purchase this model but, a consideration, was that it could be connected to my Home Assistant instance. It connected fairly easily and I can monitor/record temperature and humidity levels and control the unit.If it weren’t for the noise level, I’d consider purchasing a second one for our 2-story living space. However, when this one goes, I’d happily buy an exact replacement.

Works Like a Champ. Heats Like a Small Star. Still Worth It.
This dehumidifier absolutely slaps — and I say that as someone who lives in a region where the humidity doesn’t just make you sweat, it mocks you while doing it.The Midea 22-pint unit is compact, efficient, and clearly has a personal vendetta against moisture. I run it daily in a mid-sized bedroom and it pulls water like it’s auditioning for a job in plumbing. You’ll empty the tank and immediately wonder how your walls haven’t grown gills. But let me issue a gentle PSA:This thing runs hot. Not “oh it’s a little warm near the vent” hot — I’m talking “am I roasting a Cornish hen under this?” levels of thermal output. If you’ve got a small room, especially one that’s already warm, just know you’re trading moisture for ambient heat. Plan your airflow accordingly or prepare to enter the Toasty Zone.Another tip: the built-in sensor does the job, but it’s very much a local reading. As in, “I’m doing great right here next to me” — even while the rest of the room still feels like a Florida swamp sauna. If you’re serious about full-room monitoring, pair this with a secondary RH sensor placed farther away. You’ll get a much better picture of how your microclimate is really behaving.Still, even with those caveats? It’s absolutely excellent.✅ Removes moisture quickly and efficiently✅ Quiet enough not to disrupt your daily life✅ Easy to clean, easy to move✅ Doesn’t look like a haunted relic from a 2004 utility closetI’ve run this thing for weeks, and despite the space heater vibes, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. My windows no longer fog. My sheets no longer feel like they’ve been slow-cooked. My plants are confused, but I’m thriving.Highly recommended — just don’t put it next to your bed unless you enjoy waking up in a desert.

Reduced humidity with an easy setup
I purchased the Midea 3,000 sq ft dehumidifier for our walkout basement. We had enjoyed another brand, which is no longer available, that lasted for 15 years and did a great job of clearing the humidity from the 1800 sq ft area. The setup and programming of this new device was a breeze and works fine, but not quite as well as our old one. I just hope that we get 15+ yrs out of this one.

    Dehumidifier
Purchased from Amazon. It is large in size. It does take up a lot of floor space. I did register my Midea Dehumidifier MAD22C1AWS. The wheels make it very easy to maneuver. The fan is loud and it does eventually cycle off. I purchased the Midea Dehumidifier, June 2025. I accepted the noise from the fan. I did find a good spot to place it. It was working just great keeping my place with fresh cool air. The return date for Amazon ended in August. I would have graded it much better stars rating during those past 7 months. But NOW, December 6, 2025. I am frustrated with this product and Midea customer service as well. Seven months later!! The problem began with having to registered it several times. Because their system could not locate the other registrations. In order to continue I had to reregister it again each time to communicate. I tried the online ChatGPT many times it gave different methods of solutions. I contacted Midea support the 1st lady gave me a case number after trying many different things. She told me to call back another day. The 2nd lady also tried various ways to resolve the issue. She added information from our work to rectify the issue to my case number from the 1st lady. She said someone will contact me 24 to 48 hours. Here is the device problem, the filter light stays on solid green. It was not on and staying solid green during those earlier 7 months prior. I press the solid green filter button for 3 seconds and it turns off the device. Then it flashes “AP”.The filter has been cleaned/seated properly several times. There is no sensor button available. The device has been left unplugged for an entire day.Power/Filter pressed at same time.I can continue listing many things I have done to clear the system but nothing has change.I CANNOT recommend this product! Stay away from this device!!Hopefully in 24 to 48 hours I will get a better result. Thanks for reading.*Update 12-21-2025 No Responses!!

Due to the voltage. This appliance works on 115v and has an American spec plug. You need to add to this purchase a power converter from 220v to 110v. That is an extra 200AED. Ultimately if an appliance is sold by Amazon US, don’t buy it. Lesson learned here.

I’ve had this dehumidifier now for well over a year, and I am super impressed. Works very well by taking humidity out of the air, leaving the basement comfortable with a much improved quality of air. Easy to empty the water bin and it automatically starts up again when the water bin is returned to the unit. Some reviews comment that it is loud when it runs, but I don’t find that with ours.I will be ordering another one!

Very well made & great price. Do not cheap out on anything less, this is good quality & does a great job. Keep things dry once not in use and clean the filter depending how often you use it. My laundry room started at 87 and went down to 47 in a few hours, it made a BIG difference in that room. It does blow out air so be mindful of where you place it and it may leave your room with a little bit of warm dry air, so if it’s in the bedroom just understand that part.
