Inconsistent brightness throughout the light strip without power applied to both ends
This COB LED strip works at 24V DC and features a barrel-style connector for a 24V DC power adapter plug. The beginning of the light strip is nice and bright but the light is noticeably dimmer at the end of the light strip than it is at the beginning of the light strip. The beginning of the light strip is also much warmer to the touch than the middle or end of the light strip. The light strip gets quite warm but not hot while the middle and end of the light strip are cool to the touch after several minutes of operation. After testing the 32.8ft COB LED light strip powered by 24V DC, I found that the light strip draws about 36 watts.Because of the inconsistent light, I ran 24V DC to both ends of the light strip (in parallel) and the light strip pulled about 64 watts. When operating the light strip with power applied to both ends of the light strip, the light was very consistent and very bright throughout the entire 32.8ft light strip.I found that the best way to get the brightest and most consistent light from this light strip is to run 24V DC power to both ends of the light strip. Another method would be to cut the light strip into about 4 sections and run 24V DC power to all 4 sections in parallel instead of relying on the conductors within the light strip itself to carry the current the entire 32.8ft.Overall, this light strip will work well for many projects but may be a disappointment for other projects due to the inconsistent lighting from the light strip. However, if you take the time to solder wires onto both sides of the light strip and run power to both ends, the light strip will work very well and provide very bright and very consistent light.

I also may include my opinion on the product’s value proposition to the market.REVIEW:——————————–Very nice spool of LED lights that are spaced very closely together with a silicone layer to diffuse the light (giving a more uniform appearance). If you plan to power the entire strip, you’ll want a beefier adapter, but it comes standard with a DC barrel jack. Package also includes some connectors for connecting multiple strips together and there are relief points every foot or so to divide up the strip as you see fit, including exposed solder points if you need to do some custom wire work to fit your application.I can’t comment on the claims for CRI, but I will say these are very Daylight-esque in their output (see photo, just note that the camera may change the color / brightness slightly).END NOTE:——————————–And with all the reviews I do, if there’s ever a problem with this product, I will edit (if able) to update this review. These will be denoted in an “UPDATES” section.
