Mr. Coffee Perfect Brew, Intelligent Coffee Maker, Cold Brew Maker & Tea Brewer

Nice features
It’s a little bit on the taller side and to fill up the water it has to be done from the back. This is not a unit that you’ll want to set underneath the cabinet. You’ll want an open space for it. I had planned to put it under the cabinet, but I realized that filling it up was going to be difficult. I have an open space near my stove next to an espresso maker, which is open, nothing above it, no cabinets, so I’ll be utilizing that space. I would say you want to keep that in mind because of the way the reservoir is. I have other specialty machines that you can fill from the front, and having them the under the counter is not an issue. I did notice when I made a full pot of coffee, I think it called for three scoops, and the Scoops I used were pretty level, but I did notice it where the water is distributed at the top, I had coffee remnants from the Brew basically splashed onto that face. If I were going to recommend a design Improvement, it would be that the plate could be popped off and rinsed off. I used the screen that came with it without a filter, but now I realize I can use a number 4 cone filter, and that’ll make the maintenance the cleaning process a lot easier. I guess my main takeaway from this machine is that you’ll want to have clearance nothing over the top of it to make it easy to fill it up with water and perhaps I’ll make a smaller batch of coffee so that the distribution plate for the water does not get splashed back and then have to be cleaned. I do like the display, it’s very easy to read it looks really nice. The setup was very easy for the timer I haven’t played with all of the features or read the instructions yet but this is a very nice unit very nice looking unit and most of all, it made a good cup of coffee. I like the countdown feature that it has I think it was five six minutes to make the small batch of coffee. Typically I’ll have two maybe three cups of coffee in the morning so this is a very good size for me. I haven’t tried the iced coffee feature, but it’s nice that I have that available to experiment with.

Why go out when you can brew at home?
I have been using this coffee maker for a little over two weeks and have tried all modes of coffee and tea (hot and cold).Based on the coffee or tea brew style desired, the unit automatically adjusts the brew time and temperature​ – which results in full bodied and great tasting coffee and tea. The unit even tells you how much coffee or tea to use!The large water reservoir is great and lasts for several days when making two cups of coffee a day (12 or 16oz cups each time). The unit has not experienced reservoir leaks (as per another recent review).The taste of the coffee is far superior to K-cups and since the unit is so easy to use the K-cup method is definitely taking a back seat (haven’t used it since we plugged in the Mr. Coffee unit).I had been using an overnight cold brew system that I used prior to owning this Mr. Coffee. This unit does such a fantastic job at providing a great cup of cold brew in under ten minutes that my previous overnight method is likely to be “retired.”Personal taste, but I find that the amount of coffee required is less than what the unit recommends. For example, 2 scoops for 16 oz of cold brew – I found that the taste is good and strong using only 1.5 scoops. Results may vary, based on personal taste or type of coffee used.One item to note is that the Instruction Manual was not included with our unit. I called the company and had them email a .pdf copy (since it wasn’t provided on the company website which I was told was an oversight so it might be there now). While the included quick start guide is enough to get you up and running, the instruction manual is key for taking care of the unit and understanding its full operation.Before your first use, don’t forget to remove the red plug if its found at the base or underside of the water reservoir.Overall, a very well-designed, highly practical, and sleek-looking appliance.

The maker for coffee snobs
I love this coffee maker! First, I will say that this machine does NOT leak. The instructions clearly state to pull the red tab at the bottom of the water reservoir prior to use (if you don’t, then yes it will leak). It is easy to set time and delayed brew and comes with a variety of options perfect for coffee or tea. The hot coffee is made great and comes out hot (I stopped using Kuerig because the coffee was not hot enough). My coffee is ALWAYS full of flavor and I use a variety of flavored coffees. The cold brew option is wonderful and it comes out so smooth and delicious. I haven’t tried brewing a full carafe of tea, but I have brewed coffee with a tea bag and it also came out really good. It doesn’t take up much counter space at all and even though the parts are mostly plastic, it will last just fine if you take care of it.
