Charming Lamp, A Few Minor Issues
my first impression upon unboxing this oiyn lamp is that it’s quite a bit taller than i was expecting. you don’t THINK 7″ is that tall, but if you’re trying to fit it into a specific space on a shelf, well, be sure to measure first…There’s no remote included, so you must control it either manually via the top of the lamp or via the app, “Giant home”. luckily i was already familiar with this app as i have a few oiyn devices already, so pairing it was a simple affair. from there there are a TON of options. i mean a TON. at the base level you have simple light controls. there’s a wheel for shades of white and another wheel for all of the colors of the rainbow. and the lamp is certainly bright at 500 lumens.besides individual color options there are scene modes (30+). these are premade modes that do things like simulate rippling wheat in a field, falling snow, a fireplace, a candle, etc. then there are the music controls. i presume there’s a small microphone or vibration sensor built in that allows the lamp to light reactively to whatever music is being played. there are, again, a bunch of options here, from rolling lighting to bass-pumping pulse effects.so yeah it’s a very neat lamp that’s quite bright and infinitely adjustable. that said, i do have a few issues. first, the base is a ribbed black plastic that’s ok looking, but there’s a real missed opportunity here to not have had some lighting here, even if it was just at the bottom. it’s large enough to distract you from the otherwise really attractive look. second, the power cable is a proprietary barrel connector. seriously disappointing as i expect all such lights to be usb c powered at this point. i did NOT have yet another wall-wart plug on my bingo card as we enter 2026…finally, while the lamp is billed as a “smart lamp”, it does NOT work with any of the smart platforms. this means no control via google home, alexa, siri, smartthings, etc. so while it’s great they layered in all of this wonderful functionality here with the dozens of scenes and modes, the ONLY way to access them is via the Giant home app. that’s ok if you walk around the house with your phone in your hand (and for some that may be the case), but for me it’s extremely limiting.all of that said, it’s a pretty great product. really bright, really versatile and quite attractive (just don’t look at the base) at a great price point.

Smart Lamp That Works OK
I ordered this table lamp primarily to go with the collection of PHILLIP smart bulbs that we have in our kitchen and dining room. This lamp’s ability to program in an array of different lighting colors, brightness, and work on a timer seemed a good fit for what my wife and I hoped would be an ideal way to lighten a dark kitchen counter corner at night while complimenting our existing lighting. Unfortunately, this lamp is not a perfect fit but a workable one.The lamp itself is plastic, light weight, with all controls on top of the lamp. It stands just under 7 ½ inches tall and has a diameter of just at 3 ½ inches. The included power cord, which is almost 6 feet long, plugs into the base of the lamp. The lamp comes with a multi-language user’s guide that is broadly written with the most emphasis on how to obtain the “GIANT HOME” app for both Android and iOS users. It was adequate though for giving me a general sense of how to use the lamp and app.The lamp’s operations for the most part are pretty straight forward. A power button gets you started and turns on to the last lamp setting before it was powered off. There is a button for the solid colors—red, green, blue, yellow, cyan, violet, and 4 temperatures of white. Another button turns on pre-set patterns (or scenes as they’re called in the app) that can be toggled through as well. There are a “plus” and “minus” buttons as well for controlling the brightness of the lamp’s color.The GIANT HOME application isn’t required but makes controlling the lamp a lot easier. Further, the application serves as a remote control for the lamp which is nice if the lamp isn’t right next to you. The color selection and brightness is more tailorable in the app and it looks as if you can add your own custom colors if you find one you particularly like and want to use again. Scene selection is also more manageable and easier to set the way you want it in the app.There are a few shortcomings I find with this lamp after using it for a while. The plastic, translucent outer casing of the lamp is a detractor for me as it gives the lamp and lighting a cheap look. Also, I’m not sure why a rechargeable solution rather than electric couldn’t have been incorporated into the design. This would allow greater flexibility and placement of the lamp rather than having to be within six feet of a power source. Additionally, I couldn’t synch music from my phone with the lamp as I thought from the user’s guide and app. I didn’t spend much time on it though as I personally don’t care about this particular feature. Further, I’m not sure why this light isn’t compatible with a home hub such as AMAZON’s ALEXA. This would allow one-stop setup of a home’s lighting rather than a multistep solution. Finally, this lamp is not really suitable for a desk lamp as described in the product description in my mind. The light is much too diffuse for reading or close work.To wrap up, despite its shortcomings, I generally like the functionality and performance of this lamp, especially when paired with the GIANT HOME application and considering why I ordered it in the first place. Though I now have to use a separate application for this lamp from my other lighting, it’s workable and can be tailored to match the seasonal smart lighting schemes my wife and I like.

This Lamp Makes My Room Feel Alive
Such a wonderful little lamp! It gives off beautiful light — soft enough to be a nightlight, but bright enough to lift your mood. I love how the colors can completely change the atmosphere in the room. The size is just perfect — compact, elegant, and it sits so nicely on my nightstand without taking up space. I’m honestly in love with it!
