Easy to Set Up and Works Great!
I picked up the Ring Alarm Contact Sensor for one of my entry doors and was really impressed with how easy the whole process was. Setup was super simple, basically just pulled it out of the box, followed the app instructions, and it connected without any issues. What I really liked is that it already had adhesive tape applied, so I didn’t even need to dig out tools or screws. I just peeled the backing off and stuck it directly to the door and frame. Took maybe two minutes total. It’s been working perfectly since, alerting me right away whenever the door opens. It’s a solid little sensor and blends in nicely without being too noticeable.

Ring Alarm Contact Sensor with SmartThings Hub v2
Ring Alarm Contact Sensor works perfectly with SmartThings Hub v2. Very easy to setup.Add device by scan QR Code, remove small piece of plastic to activate battery, press button for 5 seconds. when you release the button, it flash really quick during pairing with SmartThings Hub. it should show up as Z-Wave device when is done.

Great product
Ring makes great products that are so easy to install and use. Much better than the big alarm companies.

Ring Door Sensor Installation
Put these up on deep “box” doors. One a French door and the other a pool door. You can mount the inactive 2nd Gen sensor (smaller component) at a 90 degree angle from the “active” sensor (holding batteries). It works very well with no false alarms. I like all the Ring components we’ve got around the house, including the new video doorbell we just installed.

Buy for added security
Sensors are easy to install and integrate seamlessly with the Ring system. Occasionally there’s a slight delay in notifications, but otherwise reliable. Lost one star for the minor lag, but solid security addition

Works perfectly
I bought this as an add-on to my existing Ring security system. These things are extremely easy to install.I put them on my basement window windows to enhance the security of my house. It doesn’t make any sound, but it does connect to my existing Ring system. It doesn’t have any motion detection on it either. It just notifies me when my basement windows open or closed.

The Ring Alarm Contact Sensor 2-pack (2nd Gen) is a fantastic addition to my home security setup. Installation was a breeze, and they work seamlessly with the Ring Alarm system. They are compact and responsive, alerting me immediately when doors or windows are opened.Pros:Easy Installation: Simple setup with no tools required.Seamless Integration: Works perfectly with the Ring Alarm system for instant alerts.Con:Requires Ring System: Only compatible with the Ring Alarm, so it’s limited if you don’t have that setup.Highly recommend for anyone using Ring Alarm to boost their home security!

I purchased these sensors to add to my security system. Super easy to connect to base station and configure. A bit challenging to mount on an inswing recessed door. I ended up chiseling a small hole in the door jamb to insert the magnet and mounted the sensor portion to the door. For installation on windows, I was able to mount the 2 pieces and right angles to each other and still have reliable pickup/dropout of the contact.

I’ve got these Ring contact sensors on all my accessible windows, and they’ve been awesome overall. Installation was super easy—just stick them on and connect through the app. The batteries last a long time (I usually get over a year before needing to swap them), and replacing the battery when it’s time is quick and painless. The app is also loaded with options, and I really appreciate the tamper detection—it gives me peace of mind knowing I’ll get an alert if someone tries to mess with the sensors.Out of all the ones I have installed, I only had one that went “bad” and started burning through batteries every few days. I reached out to Ring support, and they replaced it right away with zero hassle, which was impressive. My only minor gripe is that the adhesive on the bottom isn’t the strongest—I’d recommend using stronger double-sided tape or screws if you want it to stay put long-term.Overall, though, these sensors work exactly as advertised and fit seamlessly into the Ring system.TL;DR: Easy install, battery lasts over a year, simple battery replacement, lots of app features, and tamper detection. Had one defective unit but support swapped it instantly. Only downside is weak adhesive. Still a great addition to any Ring setup.

I had new Windows installed and was using previous wired contacts with my ring alarm. Needed to install new ring wireless contacts and they work perfectly. Very easy to set-up but I do wish there was a smaller version available.

Stopped working. It’s completely unresponsive. Can’t even do a factory reset.Update: they replaced my defective alarm. Now it works.
