Amazing Support from RIVA – Speakers AND Customer Service Are Top-Notch!
I bought my RIVA speakers last year for my spa and loved how they played beautifully together—until a recent random update caused them to stop playing simultaneously. While they still worked individually (I could stream from Spotify on my iPad), they wouldn’t sync in a group anymore. I spent over 5 hours trying to reset, reinstall, and reconnect them to WiFi—no luck. Then came Brent and Carlos from RIVA support. From the moment I reached out, they were incredibly responsive, kind, and truly dedicated to helping me. They followed up with emails, offered thoughtful suggestions, and even proposed sending me a new pair when we thought the speakers might not be recoverable. After another couple of hours troubleshooting, we finally scheduled a 3-way call. That’s when everything came together. Thanks to their tech expertise, patience, and great attitude, we got my new speakers up and running perfectly in sync again!Honestly, this kind of customer service is rare and exceptional. If you’re having issues with your RIVA speakers, don’t give up—just reach out. The support team is amazing and truly wants to help. These speakers are robust, high-quality machines, and now that they’re working again, I’m back to enjoying beautiful sound in my spa every day.Thank you, RIVA, Brent, and Carlos – I couldn’t be happier!

    Got nowhere with Riva
The Riva didn’t work. It would cut off in the middle of a song. I tried to get customer service at Riva to replace the unit but got nowhere with them. I am going to mail it to Riva anyway and ask for a replacement unit.

    Small powerful speaker
Great little speaker, powerful and light. Easy to pair with and white color is nice.

Great sound but unresponsive and cuts off after some time and needs to be rebooted to start back up.
Has decent sound, however, it does not respond well to commands like an actual Amazon speaker. After a few months of using it, it just seems to shut off on its own. rebooting it takes several minutes only to shut off again after a short while.I would not buy this product again especially at what they charge for it.

Huge upgrade from what I had before!
I used to have a RIVA Turbo several years ago, and its battery unfortunately died out, so I was so excited to upgrade to a smart speaker. I’m an avid Alexa user for my home, and the setup for this speaker was just as seamless as an Echo device. Even though the device is compact, it fills the room with balanced, rich sound! I set this up in my entryway between my dining room and kitchen, and not only is it attractive and presentable, it’s great to quickly turn on some tunes while I’m cooking or have guests over. Overall a really premium experience for the price.

    Great sound, but…
Pros:Loud for its size – Impressive volume output.Deep, satisfying bass – Exceeds expectations.Clear mids and vocals – Distinct and well-reproduced.Trillium Audio mixing – Provides an immersive experience even off-axis.Competitive pricing – Stands up well against premium competitors.Optional battery pack – Can be made portable.Responsive customer support – Quick replies and helpful guidance.Cons:Requires constant power – Only portable if the battery pack is purchased separately.Misleading driver claims – Advertises 6 drivers, but only 3 are active (the rest are passive radiators).Frustrating app experience – Slow, unintuitive, and difficult for first-time users.Buggy over-the-air update – The firmware update caused the speaker to get stuck in recovery mode.Unreliable Wi-Fi connectivity – Two weeks in, and still unclear at times if it’s properly connected.Outdated/missing features – Multi-room music support is still “coming soon” years after release.Underwhelming unboxing experience – Feels basic compared to past RIVA products.Limited EQ access – Speaker settings and EQ adjustments are unavailable when using Bluetooth only.Chromecast issues – Website claims the speaker has built-in Chromecast, but I have yet to find it as an option or get it to work.Final Summary:The RIVA Concert 2 delivers impressive sound quality, with loud volume, deep bass, and clear vocals that exceed expectations for its size. The Trillium Audio mixing provides a surprisingly immersive experience, even when listening off-axis. It’s also competitively priced against other premium speakers and offers an optional battery pack for added portability. However, several drawbacks keep it from being a top-tier suggestion if my friends or coworkers were to ask for my recommendation. The app is slow and unintuitive, Wi-Fi connectivity is unreliable, and over-the-air updates can be buggy, even bricking the speaker in my cases. EQ settings are unavailable when using Bluetooth, and despite RIVA advertising built-in Chromecast, I have yet to find it as an option. Additionally, misleading marketing claims—such as listing 6 drivers when only 3 are active—raise concerns about transparency; especially as it pertains to people that are unfamiliar with audio equipment. The multi-room music feature is still listed as “coming soon” years after release, and the unboxing experience feels underwhelming for a product in this price range.Overall, I’d rate this speaker a 3/5. The sound quality is great, but the temperamental app, connectivity issues, and misleading feature claims hold it back from being a truly great option among its competitors.**Update** 05/17/25Went from 3 stars to 2. The app being this bad cannot be overlooked. I can almost never get the app to detect the speaker. This means that there is no EQ function and the playback modes have to be changed manually. If I’m going to start playing music I generally find myself flicking on my Aiyima A07 Pro and boom, I’m connected and playing music. It’s just not worth fighting with the app every time I want to listen to music. Hopefully the app connectivity is something RIVA can get figured out soon. If they don’t, I believe it will be very difficult for their brand to grow in an already saturated market.

Terrific sound quality and good functionality, but lacking in support
I’ve been using the RIVA S speaker for years and finally upgraded to Concert, and am generally satisfied with this upgrade, particularly the sound quality.Sound quality: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐I immediately notice significant improvements in sound quality in every aspect compared to RIVA S, which I already prefer to popular models in the same price range from Bose and Marshall. The speaker offers outstanding detail, clarity, dynamic, and depth, and is powerful enough for bedrooms and smaller living rooms.Functionality: ⭐⭐⭐⭐The speaker supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Aux inputs, as well as Spotify Connect and Airplay. It also has built-in Alexa support. I took off a star because I’m experiencing occasional signal interruptions when playing in Airplay mode.Support: ⭐⭐⭐This is where I have the most complaints. The Android app is awful – it was stuck on the setting up screen for half an hour and I had to forcefully exit the app with the fear that it might brick the speaker, and I wasn’t able to login to Alexa and had to reset the speaker and set up again in iOS. The website doesn’t show the latest firmware version or provide downloads, which is required for manual updates. Good news is support staff do respond to emails in a pretty timely manner.Look & build: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
