Is the roll-down closure 100% water tight?
The roll-down closure used allows the product to be lightweight and flexible however some water can wick through the closure over time. This can be minimized by rolling the closure as tightly as possible 6 times.
What cleaning products can be used to wash clothes in the Scrubba wash bag?
Laundry liquids, powders and sheets can all be used in the Scrubba wash bag (even shampoo or bodywash if you are desperate). Please ensure powders or sheets are fully dissolved before adding clothing to the portable washing machine.
Does the Scrubba wash bag remove stains?
Independent testing shows that the Scrubba wash bag gives a machine quality wash. However, just like with your home washing machine some stains need to be pre-treated before washing. Travel stain removing pens work well with the Scrubba wash bag.
Can I soak clothes in the Scrubba wash bag?
While the Scrubba wash bag is designed for washing clothes in just minutes, you can soak clothes if needed. As the roll-down closure isn’t 100% waterproof, the Scrubba wash bag should be placed upright in a shower, bath or basin during soaking.

Works as intended for a portable washing solution
I am going to Italy this weekend, and I am packing light.I wanted the ability to clean socks, shirts and underwear. I took an Oxford shirt, a pair of socks and a long sleeve shirt out to try this out.I put in Woolite, water and the clothes. I rolled the top, and secured the strap. I proceeded to remove air from the bag. Then I rubbed the clothes in a decompressed state for about 3 minutes.Afterwards, I drained the water and added fresh water in to rinse.I did have to rinse more after removal but it is a viable way to clean clothes.The bag is a waterproof nylon bag. It has silicone knobs to scrub or agitate the clothes.It works for travel or camping I suppose.It’s pricy but convenient.Update: After spending two weeks in Italy, I wanted to let you know that this worked great. Since I traveled light, it worked great for microfiber clothing, underwear and socks. The bag has held up after daily use. Rinsing the clothes was better served by doing it by hand but the cleaning part was perfect.I do not regret buying this.

Super helpful on my last trip
My aim is to pack as light as possible and i don’t mind doing a little wash on a trip (typically in the hotel sink). The Scrubba however has made this all super easy and without issue.Spent 9 days in Europe and it was a perfect test trip for this wash bag. You can clean most things with it, though don’t try to wash a whole weeks worth a clothes at once. Two pairs of socks, two boxer briefs, and a t-shirt fill the bag. I used some Tide travel sink pack sized detergent and followed the instructions. The clothes came out clean. If you have some pants, do those separately. None of my clothes were super dirty to begin with, if you have stuff caked with mud, well this may not work for you or you may need to rinse them first.To dry the clothes, I squeezed out the excess water and then rolled the items in a spare towel. I strung up the Sea to Summit Lite Line Camping and Travel Clothesline in the shower and things were dry by morning.The Scrubba folds up pretty small. I was able to pack it, the clothesline, and the Tide packets flat in a 1 gallon zip top bag. Easily fit into my carry on. Will definitely bring the Scrubba with me for longer trips.

Great product but leaks a bit
Works great for cleaning thin, lightweight clothes, small amounts at a time. However, it is not fully waterproof, so I recommend doing over a sink or outside. It’s not a ton of water that comes out, it’s manageable, but was unexpected.

Useful and effective
Is this as good as throwing your clothes in the washing machine for an hour? No.But is this little bag amazingly useful when travelling? YES.I travel a lot and recently was in Russia for a couple months with no washing machine. I did all my laundry in this little bag, including jeans, bed sheets (two loads), and all manner of other clothing. I kept waiting for the glue or something to break apart, but is still functioning fine to this day. The little bumps inside really help actually scrub things clean, and I love being able to see how dirty the water is (sometimes I do a double wash or a double rinse) as well as decide what temperature of water I want to use for my clothes.The pricing is a little steep for a little bag like this, but if you are a backpacker who likes to stay clean or a constant traveler to areas that cannot guarantee washing machines – it’s worth the price.(On a P.S. note, my friend had the older version that didn’t have the screw valve and had a lot of problems with it. This screw valve is amazing and reduces prior Scrubba complaints)

Where was this 20 years ago??
I’ve been doing the travel light and wash as you go program for decades. I’ve become the master of doing laundry in sinks and showers as I travel so that I can pack lighter.For a recent month long trip across three climate zones we wanted to pack carry-on only. I saw this, and while I was skeptical (sinks work fine right?) I decided to give it a try.GAME CHANGER!! This is almost too easy!! I no longer have a wet mess around the sink, or have to shower with my laundry. This thing is so easy! It has two lines, big load and small load. Put in your clothes to one of the two lines, fill with water. To make life easier I packed the dry detergent sheets with this bag. So I added one detergent sheet, roll the top to seal (you may need to experiment to get the right seal, but then it is easy), use the valve to purge the air and you just start rubbing. Put is on the floor and give yourself a foot massage, rub it with your hands, whatever- three minutes of agitating and rubbing and my clothes were legitimately clean!! Dump the water, add fresh water for a rinse, agitate some more and then dump again.This was well worth the little space it takes up in my carry-on packing. Pair it with the dry detergent sheets and you can take it anywhere.

Great product that i will be using frequently on my next backpack trip in South East Asia. I wish I had discovered this product years ago when I was away in far away land with limited washing possibilities.Very small in size and excellent for packing.Just read the instructions before using it! You must empty the air inside before scrubbing.

No ocupa nada y es tremendamente práctico. En mi afán por llevar lo máximo posible en el mínimo espacio posible, esta bolsa aporta varias funcionalidades extraordinarias.Mi uso es para emergencias, no para usarlo como producto de limpieza. A pesar de esto, he de decir que las 3 veces que la he llevado de viaje la he usado; he lavado un par de camisetas, ropa interior y una toalla, todo de manera rápida y sencilla. Imagino que la calidad no es tan buena como una lavadora al uso, pero es verdad que en 3 minutos tienes la ropa limpia y tus manos secas.No he usado detergente sino la pastilla de jabón que uso para ducharme y asearme. Primero restriego el jabón en la superficie rugosa de la bolsa, luego añado la ropa, después el agua (caliente si es posible), cierro y a frotar un ratillo. Al sacar la ropa, es recomendable escurrirla bien y luego enrollarla dentro de una toalla y comprimir con las posaderas. De esta manera estará suficientemente seca para poder colgarla y se termine de secar con el aire sin que gotee. En mi caso uso toallas de baño turco o de microfibra, que son superligeras para empacar de viaje y extremadamente absorventes. Otro caso de uso 2×1 :)Aparte de bolsa de lavado, también funciona como bolsa impermeable. No es algo que me interese actualmente, pero nunca está de más si la circunstancia se tercia. También, y esto es más útil, sirve para guardar ropa sucia o húmeda en tu maleta y que no se mezcle con la ropa limpia.En conclusión: es un producto curioso, inteligente y útil.
