Great firewall with advanced options
Glad to see this version includes geo-IP filtering, so you can block traffic to/from most countries where attacks originate from. This option is typically only on the bigger Sonicwalls. Lots of functionality for the money.

Business use
I use this in a business environment with 4 computers connected. I have not seen any internet lag or connection issues. I have 3 protection packages running in the unit and have been pleased with the protection we have gotten.Support was great in helping me get it setup snd updating the hardware to current version.

Finally got it figured out
Once I got the configuration figured out, it did what I needed it to do.I was looking for a firewall to forward HTTP and HTTPS traffic to a PC on the network and also direct RDP connections to the same computer. Of course, I wanted to do this securely with passwords. I found SonicWall Tech Support very lacking – it took several calls including a couple of Techs who said it couldn’t be done. I was finally able to find one who “figured it out”.I considered giving it a lower score, but the firewall actually works and is easy to set up except for security.

New gen is much better
We did secure upgrade from the TZ 400 and it is actually cheaper over time compared to the older ones. For those on the fence: the TZ 270 is much higher capacity compared to the previous lower end SonicWall s such as TZ 300 and TZ 400. It is a touch slower to boot up, but definitely worth the cost savings. If you are still running older-gen SonicWalls, consider the new gen for cost savings alone.
