It is very easy to install. It panel is very effective, the battery is always at 100. The camera videos are very clear. It is a good buy and I recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable security camera.

Wish I bought these before my other brand solution.
Very easy to install and set up. The different zones made it easy to filter out unwanted alerts. The solar panel kept the battery charged even in a shady spot. Great price for never having to remove the camera and recharge the battery or run power to it like other home security solutions. Camera quality and sound quality are great. We don’t use the cloud feature but did install SD cards and playback works great.

Really nice camera. I charged it when I got it and installed it with the solar cell in a place close by that is in the sun for at least half the day and have not had to take it down to charge it since. The charge stays at 100% almost all the time. I installed it with a 128Gb mini sd card and at the rate it is recording so far, I shouldn’t have to erase the card for probably another 6 months. I mounted it outside about 30 feet from my wireless wi-fi and have never had an issue. The video is very clear and the app is east to use and set up. Its also been nice to have recorded video without a subscription. That is an option though. Its a really good value for anyone needing or just wanting a good security camera.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I really loved this camera so much I bought 2 of them and their doorbell for my house. The doorbell has been working flawlessly. The first camera IN installed with the solar panel worked fine until the first rain storm where it went offline and I could not get to it for a couple months as it monitors a vacation home. Once down there I was able to get the camera down, plug it in and after a couple chances it finally rebooted. Now the camera is is all fogged up and will not clear out. I reached out to Tapo support and after several AI generated emails from Tapo asking me about the solar panel I was able to get some traction with support where they told me I had to go through the RMA process of which they asked all the same questions that support did. I did put up my second camera in the same spot and it is working fine and I love the fact that it is solar powered. I would give the camera a higher review as I understand sometimes things break, but their support process was very painful to work with. Would I recommend this camera to everyone? Yes I would and I may buy more of them for my main house as well as back yards as I love the solar option… but I am very weary of dealing with TapoSupport again.Ease of setup:The set up was very easy to do and their instructions make it seem like it is harder than it really is. Recording capability:you can either use their paid cloud storage or I bought Micro SD cards from Amazon and just use those to record and saveStorage capacity:The 512 microSD cards are great and cheaper than subscribing to their cloud storageView angle:I love the fact that I have it on top of my 12 foot shed and I can see clearly down the side of the house and a nice wide angle to the bakc of the house and driveways. I love the AI feature where i can exclude animals from detection as we have a lot of wildlife in the area, mainly deer, fox, and other small creatures… but can also set the detection zone of where I want it to alert to motion or people.

Excellent Product, RING Quality Without the Ring Cost
Awesome product- I do not need to re-charge it because the sun keeps this fully charged. When its cloudy, the battery kicks in and that will re-charge on it’s own the next time it is sunny. If you so wish, you can detach the camera and charge it with a USB-C (included) cable on your own as well but I have not needed to. The solar panel can be moved as well, it does not need to be hooked right above the camera as it is shown (I left it like that since my camera is in a sunny enough location). The panel comes with a cord that is like 4 feet long that can hook to the camera along with a separate base to move it into a sunnier location if your camera is not in an area that gets enough sun (like hooked to a tree). Includes everything you need to hook it to a wall etc.- screws and wall anchors, along with a handy sticker that you can put on the wall to use as your drill hole guide so you are not having to hold it up and draw holes/drill.As to the camera video/photos- very good. I have no issue with that, even at night. It comes with several features like an alarm if you want to turn on to scare intruders, a light that you can manually turn on at night, and a manual microphone to speak into it from your app/phone. You can also set the detection area in case you do not want certain areas to set it off in its range (which the range is VERY good as well), and also set it to alert your phone for only certain things like pets or people or cars only etc. Pretty much if you want to customize it, you can.Setup was very easy with the Tapo app, and it works well with Alexa/Google. Anyone can do it- even if you do not know much about apps on the phone.Price was good as well for what you get in my opinion. If you want a cheaper option, beware of the quality of the picture you get and also the battery life. JUST as good as the RING that I also own, and it is cheaper! It comes with a 30 day free TAPO cloud subscription similar to the ring one, but I never needed it. I have it save to a SD card since it includes a slot for that (which you have to purchase the card on your own- but they are cheap these days).Hope that helps! Well worth it if you do not want the RING cost but still want the RING quality.

Can’t say enough good things about this camera! Love that it’s solar and doesn’t need to be hardwired. I subscribed to Kasa Care monthly to be able to save clips to the cloud. Easy to install and manage with the app. Very clear picture, decent audio too. To a of personalized settings in the app depending on what you want to record or capture.

Buena calidad cumplen lo que dicen, tengo dos cámaras de este tipo pero han dado un rendimiento muy diferente una está instalada con su panel solar en zona con mucho tránsito y está ha estado consumiendo mucha batería debido a la gran cantidad de notificaciones de hecho en la aplicación aparece una aviso relacionado a esto por lo que tuve que ajustar la configuración buscan reducir el bajo consumo de energía. La segunda camara está única en un pasillo de un edificio y solo alimentada por su batería 🔋y en una semana solo ha bajado al 96% mientras que la primera bajo de 100% al 80 y tantos porciento en un solo un día de funcionamiento, lo que nos indica que estás cámaras son para instalarse en zonas con bajo tránsito.
