Great Device
Works great. I love the convenience of this device. Easy setup. I just wish the app was more compatible with other smart technology because signing up for yet another app isn’t the most efficient but I have no complaints about thw device itself. I had it installed and functioning in about 10-15 mins

Easy to install and so much better than using keys. Fingerprint access is extra helpful but code is good for other family members. Also comes with keys in case of emergency or dead batteries

I’ve been using the TCL D1 Smart Lock for a few weeks now, and it’s great upgrades I’ve made to my home security system. From installation to daily use, this smart lock delivers on every promise with precision and reliability. The fingerprint sensor is incredibly responsive. With built-in WiFi, I can manage everything from the mobile app without needing a separate hub. I receive instant notifications about door activity and can monitor unlock history from anywhere. It’s reassuring to know exactly who’s coming and going—even when I’m not home. Installation took less than 20 minutes with just a screwdriver. No wiring, no drilling—everything I needed was in the box. It fit perfectly on my standard US door, and the step-by-step guide made it simple even for someone without handyman experience.

Works with American 2 3/8 inch backset doors. The good. It works. Could be better. Buttons don’t light until one is pressed. Codes are a minimum of 6 digits long. Adding a temporary code could be much simpler, but isn’t. Requires an invite and reply from the entity. Smart Life Home App is terrible to use, follow, and understand. Mounting inside unit to door seems awkward. There is self sticking tape on the top portion, two small # 4 screws middle and a #4 screw on the bottom which the normal #2 Phillips screwdriver won’t fit.

Terrible app
The door lock itself is fine. It’s the app. It’s terrible and difficult. If you put in a code for a person the app doesn’t let you go back in to see the code or the person you gave it to. I called customer service several times and got a lady named Red, She speaks broken English. By e-mail she informed me that they don’t allow you to go into the app to see the code or persons name for security reasons. I find that difficult to believe. I decided to return it.
