Decent Ecobee wall plate, but is only slightly wider than the factory one
I was looking for a Ecobee wall plate that would cover up a hole from the original thermostat. Unfortunately this one isn’t wide enough. Top to bottom the factory Ecobee plate is bigger. This plate is wider side to side. The factory plate is 6 1/8″ wide. This plate is about 6 3/4. So you are only getting about 1/4″ extra on either side of the thermostat. This plate uses a decently thick plastic, seems well constructed, and comes with a screw kit.

Does the job
This does the job of covering up holes and paint disparities left by the older bigger thermostats when switching to an ecobee. The color isn’t a perfect match with the Ecobee Essential so if that is a problem then buy OEM. From across the room I can’t tell they aren’t the same color though and this is much cheaper than OEM.
