Good wall plate cover for Ecobee
The cover fits the thermostat perfectly. It is a little large but that ensures it will cover almost any size previous thermostat footprint.

Good Trim If You Need It
We recently got an ecobee thermostat and it’s going where previously and older, rectangular thermostat lived. I got this to cover up any holes in the wall left behind by the old thermostat that the ecobee doesn’t overlap. It works perfectly for that. The black plastic looks nice enough and matches the thermostat well. I will say you need flat walls for this to look perfect. If you have slightly uneven skim coating where this is going you can get some gaps. I’m not sure how long we’ll use this as my fiancé has plans to simply spackle and paint where the couple of holes are that this is covering, but it certainly improves the look while I wait for him to get around to that particular project.

Fits Ecobee
This This plate fits my ecobee perfectly and covers up the hole at the previous thermostat left behind. My ecobee didn’t fully cover the hole. So this is perfect to cover that and make it look nice again. It is super easy to install and is secure on the wall. I did it myself and I’m a girl so anybody can do it. No instructions came with it, but it’s pretty self-explanatory. You just need to remove the ecobee and install the plates then put the ecobee back on.

If you have the Ecobee Smart Thermostat Essential 2025 this thin backing plate made specifically for that unit may work for you. But I, good sir or madam, I am an idiot who, apparently cannot or does not wish to read before ordering an item. In all fairness there is no model number listed on my unit and only shows in the third for fourth level of menus within the settings. Whatever, do not judge me (he said with a grin, wink and nod).

Incorrect size information
Said it fit my model. Specifically, asked for more info, was reassured it would fit. Guess what? It didn’t fit my model, and all packaging had already been discarded. Complete waste of time and money.

Clean cover for Ecobee Essential
I used this plate when I replaced a larger old thermostat in a house from the 1960s. It did a good job hiding the ugly wall marks, screw holes, and unpainted outline, and the black finish matches the Ecobee so it looks like one clean unit.Install was simple and once it was screwed down it sat flat and did not flex. Now I do not notice the plate at all, which is exactly what I wanted instead of patching and repainting the wall.
