It has its own WiFi name and password
Works best for devices that are stationary, such as TV’s and IOT devices. The range is as advertised and the setup is very easy. The internet speed is good and it is a good value for the money.

HOW are People getting Anything over 160mBit connection?
SO this is my second one of these as the first one I couldn’t get over 140mBit on my 5g connection and over 40mBit on my 2.4g… First one was the black version and This one is the more expensive white one (shaped a bit different) and it’s nearly the same with 5g signal @ 165mBit MAX… And this is RIGHT NEXT TO THE WIFI HUB IT’S CONNECTED TO!? I have Xfinity 1000mBit fiber internet and my wifi on my Xfinity wifi hub comes in regularly at 970-985mBit. When I connect my Netgear Nighthawk to my Xfinity wifi hub via wired connection, the nighthawk wifi produces around 850-890mBit wifi connected to my smart phone (Galaxy Note 20 5g Ultra). Even when I’ve connected this unit literally on my desk, 2ft away from my Xfinity wifi hub or the Netgear Nighthawk, it will not get any faster connection (only 160-165mBit on 5g). I’m out in the country and trying to extend my signal to my pole barn for Better wifi. So it’s not like there are a bunch of other wifi signal disrupting anything. The two photos attached are the speeds I’m getting on 5ghz connection with my Samsung Galaxy Note 20 5g Ultra Smart Phone… Mind you these units are advertised as covering 12,800sf which is around 120ft x 100ft or 75ftx170ftPhoto 1- 10.3mBit/ 24.6mBit is in my Pole barn, about 110ft from this extender which is placing the unit 7ft up on the wall in my garage, which is a b-line 42ft from the unit (Netgear Nighthawk AC1750 wired connection from my Xfinity Wifi Hub) it’s connected to.Photo 2- 85.1mBit/ 45.7Mbit is standing right next to the unit in my garage as placed in the above statement (#1) which is the best that’s produce so far but it’s infrequent.I don’t know how people are getting fast speeds from these things at all. Like I said, I can’t even get this thing faster than 160-165mBit right next to either of my Wifi Routers. It’s actually 25mBit faster connected to my Netgear Nighthawk than the Xfinity Wifi Hub.I Called Xfinity and they couldn’t help being a third party extender and suggested paying the $125 for their unit. But could only tell me that their Xfinity extender is only good for up to 500mBit and no info on how far they would reach!?I would like to see “Speedtest.net” screen shot PROOF that these units get anywhere near 500-1000mBit wifi speeds connected to any of reviews with proof of connection to this units for the speeds. I feel that people are not checking their speeds in the house, nor testing the longest coverage and therefore think all is well or people are getting paid to post good reviews…Both of these units are doing the same thing as they will also Not connect via WPS on my Xfinity wifi router. But will on my NetGear Nighthawk unit. But I would have to turn off my 2.4ghx wifi for the unit to connect to the 5ghz radio signal through WPS. Otherwise its gets slow 70mBit 2.4ghz speeds standing right next to the router it’s connected to.If you have Xfinity wifi or any other system and figured this out, please let us all know! This is very frustrating and I’ve built all of our computers, run a 7500gb HTPC server on our network to stream all of our burned home movies and operate all of the rest of that flawlessly. These are pieces of Chinese JUNK at this point… I;ve spent a week trying to trouble shoot these with only the results stated above. Nothing better.

    It works!
I have searched high and low for an affordable wifi extender for a long time. We have tried many. No longer. We have found the one that works! Easy to set up. Works all over over home! This should be everyone’s go too. No more extra fees to cable companies!

    Not what I expected
I guess you get what you pay for. I walk away 12 feet away from the extender and the signal drops like a rock. Yes everything was connected properly, maybe I got a defective product I don’t know but I would not recommend this particular extender ‘repeater’. It advertises long range signal up to 12,000 square feet, that’s one to really laugh at.

    Great deal
We ordered this for our cabin up north. I haven’t had the opportunity to try it yet. It is set up, and our guests are using it, but they have not commented.

    Doesn’t work
Horrible product. It only last one week and it disconnect all the time, and take forever to connect it back. I have 350 Download Mbps, and this thing only provide 10.
