Does every thing I need
Love it. Integrates beautifully with my Nest thermostat. Cocoon fan turns on and off with my heater/AC blower fan. I found the fan and app easy to set up and the app very functional.The app allows me to set the fan to be off all the time, on all the time, automatic (set to its internal thermostat), or synchronized with my Nest thermostat – which is my preference.I can schedule multiple events per day, which comes in handy because the fan can be loud on the higher speed settings, 5 and above..All these register fans trade off fan speed (air flow) versus fan noise. The variable schedule function accommodates that trade off for me.My bedroom is the furthest run from the HVAC so I needed to increase the airflow. I’m only in the bedroom at night and want to minimize fan noise so as not to interfere with my sleep.During the day, when I’m not there, I schedule the fan to be off. The schedule sets the fan to 7 between 7 PM and 10 PM to help cool/warm bedroom just before bedtime, then sets fan speed to 2 from 10 PM to 8 AM. For me, I wouldn’t be able to sleep at 3 and above. Airflow is adequate at 2, but I would prefer it be a bit quieter so I could have more air flow. Like I said, it’s a trade-off.The mounting to me is a bit wonky, but I got it to work in my register.One mild annoyance is the LED lights. There’s three of them, and while they are not super bright. I’m not sure they’re even needed.Although it is not cheap, this is only one that does what I need and I haven’t seen any that have the ability to turn on and off with the main HVAC blower fan.

If you have a Nest thermostat you want this!
Perfect. Set up easy heck. Set it on auto and paired it with my Nest thermostat. Very simple. It comes on when the HVAC system kicks in. Perfect!Basically if you have Nest it’s set it and forget it. Comes on and off with the system. Getting a second for the one other vent farthest away from the hvac!

The app is atrocious, but the item appears to work
If you get the right size it will fit right into your vent. It is clearly designed for floor vents since it is built to hang in the gap with the mounting legs. Getting it installed takes all of 5 minutes, but you need to make sure there is a power source nearby. It doesn’t seem to make a lot of noise in most cases, but because the app is awful, just awful it is difficult to test a lot of it’s functionalilty. The app is supposed to connect to your smart thermostat and determine when to run and the power to run on so that it keeps you cool or warm, but since it crashes when configured with an ecobee thermostat (the API probably changed since the app was built) at best you can just run it continuously. Given the price and it not actually working on sync with the thermostat, it’s not the best value for money. It just becomes a fan in the vent that may or may not keep you cool. The maker of this device needs to update their app or make a physical remote for it or something, but as it is – it is hard to recommend. It will “work” but only because it just ends up running constantly.

Doesn’t Fit Modular Homes and the Software is Buggy
I was really hoping this booster fan would help even out the temperature in one of our rooms, but unfortunately, it was a complete failure on two different levels. First and most importantly, this product doesn’t fit the floor vents in a modular home. The housing of the fan unit is too bulky or the wrong shape to fit into the standard 4″x10″ ductwork boots we have. It’s a complete deal-breaker right out of the box; no amount of wiggling or adjusting would allow it to seat properly.Even if I could have gotten it to fit, I still would have returned it because the software has major issues. The “smart” features are not smart at all. The app is clunky, and the thermostat controls seem to have a mind of their own, turning the fan on and off randomly instead of syncing with when the heat or AC was actually running. Between the physical incompatibility and the buggy software, this product was a total disappointment. I can not recommend it, especially if you live in a modular or manufactured home.

So Amazon delivered next day However I had to return due to I had received an open/used package (that’s maybe why many are returning it and Amazon is highlight this product is frequently returnable)! . The fans are REAL game changer, as I live in a stack house and the AC/furnace almost never cover last floor (where bedrooms are located, hence in Summer it’s like Sauna. It made a difference (at least 30%-50%) achievement, which is very good as the other solution is changing the duct infrastructure. It’s WAAAAY better compared to other smart registered like (keen and flair) which are recommended by some smart thermometer and also better than many on the internet and Amazon. The reason is easily that the smart registered recommended by some Smart thermometer are JUST opening and closing the vents but not puling ANY air to the rooms, while this one, it pulls the air from the ducts (either Cold or hot) to push air to rooms where no air is reachable (like in my case). It’s also better than Just registered fans on the internet, as you can control it remotely and don’t need to depend on Bluetooth or be close to it control it, so you may run it on Max fan speed to pull as much air as you can to cool/warm the room before you arrive (as the max fan speed is very loud especially if you live in quite area), then reduce the fans speed during your sleep or when you don’t want any noise (normal default operation is like running a fan in the room, so if you Run a fan in the room along this, you wont feel any noise in default fan settings, But I need to run on Max to pull as much air as possible for those exiled rooms on 3rd floor) It also has Eco mode, which It runs when either HAVC/fan is on and stops when HVAC/fan is off. It also has Auto mode , where you may set to desired temperature and the fan will stop automatically when it reaches this temperature or start again if it exceeds it (in case of cooling) One other best part, it’s Made in Canada and support also is here in Canada which is we are very proud of and need to support (especially, it really worth it)

Great product and works perfectly fine. The setup is really easy and it works as it is described.I have tried many different vent boosters and this one by far was the best. It synchs perfectly with Ecobee smart. The setup is really easy just make sure to ignore error message when you link it with Ecobee. When you restart the app, the thermostat appears. You have to then add your rooms and link the booster with the thermostat.

I bought a SmartCoccoon vent fan from a big box store a few years ago when we moved into our house. I can’t remember why, but I hated it, decided it was useless, but it was outside the return window, so it sat in the basement for 3 years. But my husband’s office was getting so hot from his many computers running, I had to try something. I busted it out again and I’m can’t believe I had this magic temperature weapon sitting in my house for so long, completely unused. Not only is my husband’s office cooler by several degrees, but the whole second floor is cooler. You can feel it when you walk up the stairs. Note: I also paired this product with a register air director specifically shaped for cold air, which I also purchased from Amazon. I think it also greatly helps the efficacy of the fan.I’m not sure if they improved the app since I first tried it, but wow. You can control everything, the fan speed, schedule fan on/off and speed times, it’s awesome. You can even set up two fans in the same room so they have the same settings. So smart!!With this purchase, I now have two fans running in the app. Setup took less than 2 minutes. This one is in our super hot, south facing bedroom that receives sun blaring in for the whole day. Laying on my bed, I can already feel cool air circulating over me. I’d give this thing 10 stars if I could. Because nothing has fixed this problem, including dropping $15k for a new air conditioner and furnace.I also love that this is a Canadian-made product that tackles the problems we all now have maintaing a comfortable temperature in our homes as we deal with constantly unpredictable weather.
