Frustrating and useless.
This was Ok to install but it doesn’t want to pick up my wifi signal most of the time even though my router is 10 feet away. It’s also difficult to add a Guest and assign a temporary password. When trying to add a guest code I’m told to connect to the Wifi but yet I get notifications that my door is open. The App is garbage. We’ve been trying to get help from the manufacturer but so far no luck. This unit is past the return date, so I had to buy a different lock and throw this piece of crap in the garbage. Don’t waste your money.

Works as advertised
Other locks need a subscription service or extra accessories to work remotely through wifi, buy this one comes default with that option. The physical buttons are perfect. You can make multiple codes and set up temporary codes. You can lock/unlock remotely. Install and setup was simple. No complaints

Beware as I’m fairly techsavvy, so go by instinct, the instructions will put you in the asylum
Heads up – the included instructions are terrible and will waste your time. Ignore them almost entirely and follow this instead:There is NO QR code on the lock, the box, or anywhere. Don’t waste time hunting for one. When the app asks you to scan a QR code, skip that completely and choose “Manual” or “Add Manually” setup. In the app, when it shows pictures of different lock models, DO NOT pick the one that matches the photo on the box. Instead, select the version that has a door HANDLE (not just a deadbolt). Choosing the wrong one will put you through hell. The kit comes with short screws by default, but almost every door needs the longer screws that are included loose in the box (two extra ones). Use the long ones right from the start – all three doors I did required them. The printed manual has tiny, barely readable text. I literally had to stack two pairs of reading glasses to see it, then gave up.Connection: The lock needs both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, and it only works on 2.4 GHz networks. If you have Starlink or a combined 5 GHz/2.4 GHz network, it will struggle or fail on the first try – be patient, or switch to a pure 2.4 GHz SSID if possible.Once it’s connected, the Tuya/Smart Life app works well and lets you control it remotely.Bottom line: Great price and solid performance once installed, but the instructions and setup process are a nightmare. I’ve installed 3 out of the 5 I bought and it took half a day just because of the confusing guide.Currently giving it 4 stars – would be 5 if the instructions weren’t so bad.

Uses brand new batteries in 48 hours
I put fresh batteries in and it will drain the batteries within 48 hours. The unit is useless if the batteries don’t last more than 2 days. I tried to send the seller a question to see if there was a fix for this but I’m outside my return window so I get directed to Amazon customer service. I go through all their chat prompts and can’t get any info on a way to fix this issue. it’s basically a glorified deadbolt that I can only use the key for. I did not want to carry around a key. When the batteries die in 2 days I can only use the key or run an extension cord to the door and find a cube and usb c cord to plug in and temporarily power the unit it get it to unlock from outside.

Superb
The Built-in WiFi Door Lock Deadbolt with Keypad is a fantastic blend of security and convenience. Its sleek design and sturdy construction make it a reliable choice for modern homes. The keypad is intuitive and responsive, allowing for easy access without fumbling for keys, while the WiFi connectivity enables remote locking, unlocking, and monitoring via a smartphone app. Setup is straightforward, though it might require basic DIY skills. Battery life is decent, but frequent use of the WiFi features may require more frequent replacements. I think it’s a smart upgrade for anyone seeking enhanced security and functionality.
