Bad, bizzare
Immensely bad , make all our family members sick in 25 degree weather. Continuously blowing cold air . I installed new furnace for $14k 2 days ago by aj perry. Same problem with this thermostat

Love this thing.
After a lot of research I chose to purchase this vice the nest thermostat. My choice was due to the compatibility with Samsung smart things hub. I am extremely happy with the way it functions. The app is easy to use and is highly functional.

Remote Sensors are a PAIN and do NOT detect occupancy very well
Remote Sensors tend to disconnect FAR closer than their spec with nothing but air between the stat and the sensor. And, they do NOT detect occupancy very well. I can be in the room an hour sometimes and it will never know I was there!

problems
I’m an HVAC contractor and have started to have problems with the Ecobee 3 and 4.I pushed these for years because of the remote sensor advantage over nest and other wifi T-stats.The recent problems have been with core hardware or software issues like not recognizing its own temperature reading and thus theequivalent of the blue screen if death…Ill try some other brands to see how they match-up but for now no more ecobee.

Nice design and concept
Nice design and concept, but a lot of the fancy features have issues. And the Wi-Fi disconnects from time to time. It’s good overall, but not great.

Great looking product – Poor performance and Clueless Customer service
It has been an interest of mine to try and swap out our old looking perfectly working Honeywell thermostat. I fell for the Ecobee3 after months of reviews and wait, I finally bought and started the installation only to realize the technical service does not what why the Fuse on my furnace control board and the transformer that powers the control board are failing just like that. The customer service manager was clearly not interested in the customer..she said..it is not our problem your equipment failed..it has nothing to do with Ecobee3″. She even said that it is a favor she is doing by breaking many rules buy accepting to return the equipment as it is beyond the 30days of warranty. She even claimed that this may not be compatible with the Furnace and after that she even preached me that “things happen”.I don’t recommend this unless you are completely ready to replace some of the other parts in your furnace. may be the whole furnace to work with Ecobee3.
