Good product
They are good quality. They are kind of big for a sensor. They function well, I am not sure if it is my app or the sensors sometimes they give a delayed notification. I am pretty sure it is the app because if you go to the app after closing the door it is showing closed then a few minutes later I will get the notification.

Perfect if you’re looking for simple
I’ve long avoided door and window sensors because most of them have an ear-splitting alarm built in, and while I understand the reason for that, I’d rather my dog not be traumatized every time I accidentally set it off. So these ecobee contact sensors are actually pretty perfect for me — without the monitoring subscription. They’re simple to set up, I don’t need to change the batteries often, and they do nothing more than send a notification to my phone when the door/window is opened or closed. That’s it, and that’s the main thing I need from them. For everyone else… Well, you’re probably going to find them useless without a subscription. If you pay for their monitoring subscription, the sensors can alert you to motion, turn off your HVAC if a door or window is left open, tell you when someone’s home, and remind you to arm the system when you’re leaving. Without the subscription, you get none of that, so keep that in mind when considering whether to purchase. Granted, the subscription’s pretty cheap, but it is extra money you’ll be spending each month.

Amazing!
This product is wonderful!Saved us so much money! We set it up with our eco thermostat and it now turns off the entire unit when the door is open for longer then 5 min and it also notifies us!It’s great!

Not worth it – Ecobee should stick to thermostats
I only wanted this product for the thermostat. I already have a security system.Unfortunately, you have to pay $5/mo. to use this with the thermostat. It will tell me there is a door open, but won’t pause the HVAC. It doesn’t track that this is a ‘security system’ that is worth paying a monthly fee. Installing these also triggered a trial of the security plan, which took up the top half of the screen on the app and moved my thermostat controls to the bottom half of the app.Overall, this product was a bad experience. I wish I could return it, because I could have my actual security system (Eufy is great!) tell me if a window is open (and with cheaper sensors and no monthly fee). All I wanted was a more efficient HVAC, and Ecobee failed miserably, which is sad because I love the thermostat. Hopefully they don’t decide to start charging a monthly fee for that.

The Easiest Setup I Have Ever Encountered!
These window / door sensors get top marks for ease of install and app setup! This one part of the ECOBEE universe. I will only focus on theses sensors. My only wish is that these came in different colors! The white looks terrible mounted on wood door and trim! Needs wood tone colors. For now they are custom painted to blend in. Yes almost ALL the other brands are too. ECOBEE step up your game, be the first! Sales may increase.

A great energy saving device!
I have a rental condo on the gulf coast. There are two sliding glass doors that open onto the balcony overlooking the beach. Our guests love to go out on the balcony and look at the ocean. Unfortunate, they tend to leave the door open while they are doing this, so we end up paying to air condition the beach. Signs have not been successful, so I upgraded my thermostat to an Ecobee and purchased these door sensors that work with it. We also posted a sign next to the thermostat that the air conditioner will not operate when those doors are open. This seemed to have solved my problem and helped my electricity bill. That is money well spent!

Really like the control and the additional sensors to place round the house
When I changed out my 23 year old furnace/ac it was also long overdue to change out the thermostat.I have been very pleased with the Ecobee thermostat and remote sensors that can be paired with it and placed around the house. It came with one sensor and I bought and additional pair of the sensors to spread around upstairs and be able to weight the averaging for AC purposes more heavily based on the up stairs rooms.I like the ability to check the temp in the various rooms of the house thanks to the sensors and set the thermostat up or down as needed, even when I am out of the house.

Work as Intended!
I bought the Ecobee thermostat, room sensors, and these door sensors when they were on sale. So far they work GREAT!!! They notify us through the app every time someone opens or closes those doors (which can actually be quite annoying). We also set up the thermostat to turn off the AC when one of these two doors has been left open for more than 5 minutes. It always notifies us that it has been open for more than 5 minutes, and that it is shutting the AC off.Con: We wish you could set certain times of the day when it wouldn’t notify our phones. And have it be different for each person who has the app.

I recently purchased the ecobee SmartSensors after a unfortunate incident where we had some items stolen from our trailer. The decision to invest in these sensors, paired with the premium thermostat, turned out to be a game-changer for our home security. The setup process was surprisingly easy, and the sensors seamlessly connected to the thermostat. What I love most about these sensors is the peace of mind they provide. My husband and I feel much safer both when we’re at home and when we’re away. The ability to monitor and control the temperature and security of our home remotely is a huge relief.Considering the recent security concerns we had, the ecobee SmartSensors have truly been a worthwhile investment. I can confidently say that I love this product, and I will never regret making the decision to enhance our home security with ecobee. If you’re looking for a reliable and user-friendly solution for both climate control and security, look no further. Highly recommended!

As a long time ecobee thermostat user, I was intrigued to explore their venture into home monitoring. The 2-pack door and window sensors were easy and intuitive to install. Unlike other similar sensors that I’ve had over the years, the magnetic sensor has extremely long range making it easy to install on doors or windows with large gaps between the frame and the door. A combination of the mobile app instructions and a blinking LED on the sensor helped get the position perfect. My thermostat is pretty far from the doorways in my home, so I was worried the wireless range wouldn’t be long enough for the sensor to reach – but it turned out to be just fine! I’ve started the free trial for home monitoring and so far so good. My existing SmartSensors and the new door and window contact are all working seamlessly together! I like that the home monitoring does not require a hub to arm and disarm the alarm system – somehow, it just seems to know when I’m home and when I’m away. I’ve configured it to receive notifications to my cell phone whenever motion is detected in my home or when a door opens or closes. The system works flawlessly! I’m keen to add their camera sometime in the future.

Really easy to connect and integrate in to the system.Would have been nice if they could also measure temperature as it would vastly decrease the number of sensors required.

Ecobee window sensors are pure genius. They sit there doing absolutely nothing unless you pay eight bucks a month. They don’t stop the thermostat, they don’t trigger alarms, they just exist. It’s like paying a subscription to feel disappointed while your hydro bill laughs at you.

These are great additions to the ecobee thermostat for a smart whole house security and monitoring system. Easy to add and install. No programming required. Seamless integration into the ecobee environment. Comes with a month free monitoring with a fee based program after that. Or, self monitor on your device.Would recommend these for anybody considering assembling your own custom smart home infrastructure.
