A worthy investment
Edit: I bought 2 of these locks originally. They are used on my work trailer. One of them has stopped talking a charge now, but I’ll replace it with an identical lock. It saves me time, and keeps my tools locked upOriginal post:There’s so many of these cheap locks littering the interwebs. This is the exception you’ve been looking for.I’m a tile setter, which means that during work my hands are always wet, and routinely covered with mortar, waterproof caulk adhesive. I’ve been using these locks on my trailer for over a year, and they’ve NEVER failed to open for me. Yep, even in the rain. On a train. By a plane. Over here. Over there. Yep, these will open anywhere.It generally takes about 1 second for it to read my print, and internally release. The lock opens so readily that I wondered if it would open for any finger. I’ve had dozens of coworkers try their print to see if it was secure. Absolutely secure, only my prints will work. Nice backup key (the battery needs to be charged every 6-9 months with daily use)I will say, the best way to ensure that any fingerprint lock will open is to input the same finger multiple times. The lock will store 100 prints (I think), and I primarily use my thumb, so I just re-input my thumb many times at different angles.They’re expensive, but if you’re looking for a fast, secure lock, this is the best one around.

Started out great, then failed completely in less than 2 weeks.
Well, I originally gave this 5 stars for the ease of set up, the key backup, and the solid construction. BUT … after less than 2 weeks of use, it has failed me. At first the scanner was quick and reliable. Yesterday, after a rain shower (the lock is under an overhang and was not wet), I had to use the key for the first time because the lock did not respond. I put it on the charger (which I thought was way too soon), and within 20 minutes the green light came on indicating it was charged. Tested the scanner, it worked great, so I put it back on the door. When I tried using it today – less than 24 hours later – it was unresponsive once again. I put it back on the charger, but now the red charging light is not coming on. So, I am pronouncing it DEAD and returning it. If I have to keep using a key to open this thing, I’m better off getting a $10 lock from Wal Mart. It’s too bad this didn’t work, because it’s a very solid lock and I really did like the ease of set up. Maybe I got the one bad lock on the manufacturing run, but unfortunately I don’t give second chances … Sorry, Prezlock.

This is NOT the lock that works with the App. That is a more expensive lock.
Just got this lock and so far so good. One thing that I did not realize is that this does not work with the iOS app (I’m also assuming Android). All the inputs are on the lock. The lock that works with the app is the more expensive product. I wish they would have made this clearer.

Set up is a breeze
If you have a special needs kid this is a great lock for school lockers. Leave one key in the office and set up for your child. Only works with master and programmed fingerprints. Makes it so much easier than numbers and rotations

No longer works after 14 days. Tried to return it but found out in the process I have to pay postage from Australia to the US and that Amazon will only allow up to $24 for postage. I’m really disappointed this wasn’t a cheap lock. It was $134. Posted this back and it cost me almost $30 🤬

Ich habe dieses Schloss nun seit drei Wochen in täglicher Benutzung und vor dem ersten Einsatz ausgiebig getestet. Es funktioniert bisher sehr zuverlässig und schnell, für mich ein enormer Bequemlichkeitsgewinn. Ich würde sagen etwa 19 Versuche klappen auf Anhieb, dann kann es sein dass es erst beim 2. Mal klappt. Ein ernsthaftes Problem hatte ich nie.Zum Öffnen reicht kurzes Antippen mit dem Finger – man muss nichts aktivieren o.Ä. Dann wird entsprechend der Farbring grün oder rot – nun kann der Bügel aufgezogen werden (oder nicht.)Mir ist zwar mehr als einmal passiert, dass ich auch beim Verschließen den Fingerabdruck versehentlich gescannt habe – das macht aber nichts, da das Schloß danach ja nicht aufgeht sondern nur entriegelt wird und geöffnet werden könnte. Nach 5 Sekunden ist es wieder verriegelt. Das zeigt auch nur, wie gut der Sensor funktioniert. Auf einen unbekannten Finger reagiert er natürlich immer mit rot.Man kann zwar 100 Fingerabdrücke anlernen – aber nur einer (oder 2, bin mir nicht sicher) können das Schloss wieder “Rücksetzen” auf den Werkszustand. Dann müssen ALLE wieder neu angelernt werden. Man kann also keinem Fingerabdruck die Berechtigung einzeln entziehen – das Schloss verfügt über kein Bluetooth oder ähnliches. Das ist in meinen Augen aber auch ein Vorteil. Allerdings eignet es sich eben nur dann, wenn nur man selbst oder ein fester kleiner Personenkreis zugriff haben soll.Eine Powerbank zu besitzen ist gut, falls das Schloss einmal verschlossen und leer ist – Angeblich meldet es sich aber vorher, so dass man es dann mitnehmen und laden könnte – sofern dann wiederum das Schloss für diese Zeit entbehrt werden kann. Sehr gut auch, dass ein Reserveschlüssel im Falle eines Elektronikfehlers die Situation retten kann.Der Schlüssel ist übrigens beidseitig graviert, kann aber nur in eine Richtung eingesteckt werden – wenn ich mir diesen Mechanismus vorstelle, ist das für jeden “Lockpicker” ein Albtraum.Mit den richtigen Werkzeugen ist auch dieses Schloss sicherlich schnell zu knacken, was ich natürlich nur vermuten kann und nicht beweisen WILL – Ich würde jedoch nichts allzu wertvolles mit so einem Schloß sichern. Fitnessstudio, Spind bei der Arbeit oder Kellertür scheinen mir genau die richtigen Szenarien für dieses Schloss. Das Schloss kommt zwar mit einem Silikonmantel – ich persönlich würde es aber lieber nicht draußen nutzen. Schon der Akku wird es nicht mögen, stark erwärmt oder gekühlt zu werden.Das gesamte Schloss war für mich ein kleines bisschen Größer als erwartet – und damit auch etwas schwerer, unhandlicher aber auch widerstandsfähiger gegen Bolzenschneider etc.Der Preis erschien mir zwar hoch, aber ich wollte kein funktionsüberladenes, windiges kleines Schrottding mit App, Gedönz und vielleicht noch einem Bestätigungspiep sondern etwas zuverlässiges, simples und robustes, was für die nächsten 10 Jahre da hängt und mich komplett in Ruhe lässt, keine Updates und keinen Account möchte, nicht auf einmal inkompatibel ist oder was weiß ich. Einfach nur ein Schloss. Und genau das ist dieses Ding und wenn der Akku lange hält sehe ich keinen Anlass, nicht die volle Punktzahl zu vergeben.Man bekommt, was beworben wurde.
