Works great if you don’t have enough wires!
Worked great, I had new boiler installed and after one of my three nest didn’t work. Was told one of my three wire was bad. So that left me without 3rd wire for common, found this item and took 5 minutes to install and now my nest works as it did before!

Solves the missing c wire – specific to the Nest thermostat, not a universal solution
Installed a Nest thermostat on my daughter’s condo and found out she only had two wires, red and white with no possibility of running a real C wire due to plaster walls. Confirmed that the furnace had a C wire (critical) and then ordered this dongle. My application was a heat only furnace so the wiring was fairly simple.I strongly recommend that you get three of the wagu type snap-on UL approved wiring connectors unless you have screw terminations to attach to. There are two of the snap on connectors in the box but you will need three more for the furnace side . Trust me – have the connectors handy and installing this device is easy, I tried to use twist on wire nuts but the nuts would no stay on.You need to “tell” the nest thermostat that this adapter was installed during the programming phase on your phone or tablet. Do that slowly because if you miss the check box that says this device was installed the thermostat will not work and the only way to fix it is to delete the thermostat and install it as a new device.Note – This device is specifically designed for the nest thermostat. It will not work as a workaround to add a missing C wire to other thermostat brands.

No experience but easy install after research & safety precautions
This was my first time touching anything HVAC that’s not a professionally installed thermostat, and doing any electrical wiring at all. Thermostat install was a bit tedious with drywall, drilling, and leveling but straight forward, almost like hanging a tiny painting. Sucked that after install I learned I didn’t have a c-wire, needed one, and didn’t know what an c-wire is… had to figure it out and buy this. Extra $25… ok, annoyed but not mad. This adaptor “power connector” involved significantly more investigation and caution to install versus the thermostat, but once I found the right panel it was a breeze— after that took me literally 5 mins or less with a flat head (to open the furnace) and a Phillips head (to release and reattach the wires) screw driver. Made sure I could find the panel before I placed the order. Very clear and simple directions, immediately resolved the c-wire/power supply issue I was having with my new thermostat, allowing me to use a smart thermostat in my rental home without having to talk to my landlord (plus it all cost under $100 thanks to Amazon “used” options and there’s rebates available from my electricity provider). Literally can’t believe we used to have to switch between heating and cooling in the fall and spring manually… did it at my new place for a few weeks before I decided that it was worth the trouble and expense. Love that I can check and control the temp remotely from my phone. Definitely not mad that I spent the money and got the branded product bc they made it so easy. WiFi works now.

Didn’t work, had to install C wire
Something is wrong with the Nest Power Connector’s internal components, as it tries to deliver power. I’m not sure how it’s supposed to work (some kind of switch?), but it does not do the same job as a dedicated C-wire. To preface, we have a baseboard radiator system with an oil furnace and a separate AC system with air handlers. Some thermostats in our house are heat only, others both AC and heat.I installed two Nest Power Connectors, one on a Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd gen and one on a Nest Thermostat. Installation was a breeze. The 3rd gen had previously been using the workaround with a G (fan) wire as a C wire with no power issues. The Nest Thermostat was newly installed. After installation, the Power Connector at the air handler for the Nest Learning Thermostat (heat and ac controller), the unit started having low power issues within 24h (screen not turning on, disconnecting from the temp sensor, wifi disconnecting). Same issue with the Nest Thermostat in the basement (heat only) with the power connector at the HVAC (a Taco 6 zone switch relay board), with power issue error messages showing up on the screen and being emailed within a week. I double checked all the connections with a multimeter, R to W and R to C both had ~27 V, and the Nest itself read enough power coming in.Unfortunately, I had to remove the devices and run a dedicated C wire (not an easy process in our house). Since installation of the C wire, the Nest Learning Thermostat has been working excellently with no issues, indicating that the Power Connector does not do its job as a replacement for an actual C wire. (The other Nest Thermostat still will not work as after a week it had another power issue, and Google Nest support did issue me a replacement device. So it’s hard to judge what caused its failure.)

Works great but use your own wire nuts
The Nest power connector worked just like it was supposed to and solved my issue. The only downside was the wire connectors it came with, they didn’t hold the wires tight and felt loose. I ended up using regular wire nuts instead.

Solved Our N260 Error, Super Easy Install
If you’re comfortable turning a screwdriver and turning off your furnace at the breaker box, you can absolutely install this Power Connector. Took about 10 minutes to get this installed, after reading the directions a time or two (they’re not the most clear). After running a power test on the thermostat, N260 error resolved immediately. Hoping these will pay for themselves rather quickly.

I was a bit unsure about it as we had an existing thermostat, but it didn’t have one of the wires that were necessary for a ‘smart thermostat’.Anyways, while they had a video for installation on youtube (not a GOOGLE video, but other outfit), and while my real situation was different and had other wires there, I followed the video as it was (only removing the wires I saw on the video) and it worked well.No issues with it at all, but a bit of fear that I was going to hook it up wrong and fry something. Haha.Just be aware the instructions in the box are pretty useless and sort of push you to getting a licensed plumber/electrician to install it. Most of the reason that you were looking at this product was because you DIDN”T want to pay for a service call for it. Again, there were youtube videos on the hook up.

I had no idea why my thermostat (nest E) never complained about battery issues. Thought the best was powered by wire but after some weird power outage my nest E (after 6 years!!) Started complaining about low power and it stopped connecting to wifi and I couldn’t control it with the nest app anymore.Learned my C wire wasn’t connected… So I bought thisI have gas heating and AC and a HRV connected to my controller in the furnace so it’s a bit complicated. The instructions are clear and straight forward. Just make 100% sure you power off your furnace before you mess with wires. Take a dozen pictures at different angles of your current wiring for reference. Wire it up . Make sure the Nest wire combiners are snug. Tug on the wires to make sure. It’s easy to snap the wire to the connector and think it’s connected but it’s more than likely you didn’t push the wires In far enough and they pull off easily. Push the wires into the connector snug and snap closed and tug hard …. It shouldn’t fall outAfter connecting wires , finally it works. I see my nest voltage rise up from 3.3v to 3.7v (nest “equipment”power screen shows this)… Do a full test! Test your AC, your heater and make sure fan works and your hrv and anything else. Note that it takes several minutes for heater or AC to come out and produce heat Tor cold air.The whole thing took 30m only because I was trying to figure out what wire is what. But alas it worked. Yay.If you don’t know what you’re doing? Call a pro.

Instructions are a bit difficult to follow. I would recommend getting a professional if you do not feel comfortable with wiring.Our furnace did not have the formats that would follow the instructions exactly so there was some trial and error involved. After doing some research online, we found that it was fairly common that people were experiencing similar issues. Once we got it up and running though it worked perfectly and continues to work perfectly 6 months later.

This is much better than the Ecobee power adapter as you can still use fan independently.
