I installed this VCHOO keyless entry door lock to replace my old keyed deadbolt on an exterior metal gate, and it’s been a great upgrade. The keypad is solid and responsive, and the auto-lock feature means I don’t have to worry if I forget to lock the door—I can set it to lock automatically after a few seconds.It supports up to 100 user codes, plus one-time codes, so I’ve set separate access for family or food and/or delivery drivers to reduce the risk of stolen packages. The anti-peeping password feature is smart, too—you can enter random digits before or after your real code, and it’ll still recognize it.The lock is made from zinc alloy and feels sturdy. It’s rated IP54 for weather resistance, so I feel confident it’ll hold up through rain or heat in a partially covered area. In case the batteries die, there’s a handy Type-C emergency charging port, which is a smart fallback.Installation took me about 10 minutes with just a screwdriver. It fits my custom metal door, which is in the advertised 1.3″–2.1″ thickness range, without issues. And for peace of mind, it came with two physical keys as a backup.Keep in mind that this set requires TWO doorknob holes on the door for complete installation. The keypad portion is a deadbolt lock and the handle that installs in a separate hole is just a latch with no lock. The latter is not REQUIRED but I recommend installing it to help keep the door in place otherwise the deadbolt might not engage completely if it’s not aligned with the corresponding hole.Overall, this is a very practical and secure lock—no more misplaced keys, and I feel more in control of who comes and goes. I bought this as a lock for the entrance of my business. The hardware is solid with a decently thick metal. I have never installed any type of doorknobs or locks before. As a newbie installer, I feel it took me more time to do this task than someone with experience. It took me a little over an hour fiddling with everything, doing it incorrectly, and then correcting the error of my ways. Once it was installed properly, it works great. The lock moves on the touch of a button, and it speaks to you, letting you know if the door is locked or unlocked. It does have a doorbell feature on it, but I don’t think it would be audible unless standing near the door.The keypad connects to an app called SmartLife, which can connect several smart devices, and I already had it installed on my phone. It only took a few seconds for the app to locate the keypad and add it to my devices. Setting up a keycode was simple, and you can create several codes to give to different people.
