Surprised and impressed
To be perfectly frank, I was not expecting an awful lot from a jobsite speaker made by a tool company. In addition, I recently tested a speaker which looks a lt like this and it was so bad it was almost painful to listen to. I was surprised to find that this speaker arrived with enough charge to play it (and, in gact, it lasted for hours). I turned it on and there was a voice signal indicating that it was in pairing mode. It connected quickly and easily to my player. I was floored by the sound quality. It was clear, noiseless, and detailed sound; better than the vast majority of speakers in this price range, and that was before burn in. I turned it up to the loudest level, and was even more impressed. It topped out at about 97 db. and was nearly noiseless at that level, something I have only heard from the ultimate Ears Hyperboom (roughly 4 times the price). Given that they are in different price categories, it would not be fair to compare ther two on other measures. I mention it because it is so rare to find a speaker which is both loud and has good audio quality, especially one which does not have a lot of noise or other artifacts. At top volume there was a vbit of hgum with the bass boost on, but no distortion. I tezsted this speaker in my (outdoor) glass studio. I use a dual fuel torch with an (industrial) oxygen genrator. The generator is really loud, so I need a powerful speaker to hear over it.The build quality is very good and it has an ipx 67 rating for dust andf water resistance. That’s really good protection, the same level as Sony speakers.- It is easpecially important in a jobsite speaker. Most blue tooth speakers have some protection but many do not report the second number (that is dust proof). oth important to me if I am going to use it in my glass studio.I am on the windward side of Oahu, very wet and humid. I always look at water resistance, but for use in my studio I need the dust resistancee too.The speaker has good buiold quality, good sound quality and it is easy to use. Each function has its’ own button so there is no double or trippe tapping or long holds. It also has charge out so you can charge your phone or small tools withj it. The speaker is built for Klein’s rail system and it has a strong magnet for mounting. The speaker can be connected to up to 5 other speaerts using the broadcast button, very simple and straight forward. The speaker is well designed, well built, and has features typically found in more expensive speakers. It also sounds very good, better than the vast majority in this price range.

Klein Tools, American Made Products… Since Before Abraham Lincoln Was President!
You read my headline correctly Folks,Klein Tools has been an American manufacturer of extremely high quality tools since before the 16th president was elected. It was actually in 1857 (169 years ago, at the time of this writing) that this… still family owned business (in its 6th generation of leading the company) began its journey to produce some of the world’s highest quality tools… with a keen focus on American ingenuity and homeland manufacturing. With a vast array of tool offerings, Klein Tools has dominated tool manufacturing within the electrical trades field. As a matter of fact, *”Klein is the only major tool manufacturer worldwide focused on electrical and utility applications. No other manufacturer of hand tools and related products used in electrical applications makes more items in America than Klein Tools”.The level at which this company has cemented its place within American history can be clearly seen, particularly with their pliers (the famous lineman’s pliers… often just called “Kleins”).I’ve given you this small backstory because I wish to emphasize the extraordinary quality of the product I am going to review. It is of the standard one expects from a company such as Klein Tools… And now, you know.I think everyone is familiar with the big orange tool holding boxes used by tradesmen. They are actually referred to as “job site storage boxes”… They are big, strong, heavy and hold quite a bit. They are also built to last and… generally orange to stand out. This MODbox, all weather, job site, wireless Bluetooth powerhouse of a speaker system… will blow you away!So much research and development has gone into this Bluetooth wireless speaker that I hardly know where to begin. The job site storage boxes have rails on them and this MODbox has been designed to snap right on… clean, efficient, and it looks great; even matching the look and design of the job site storage box itself. These MODbox sound systems are built tough! Being drop damage resistant and water and dust proof, this sound system puts up its dukes… and basically says, “I’m here to stay, and I’m taking over!”With a maximum power output of 30 W this wireless sound system is not just making a name for itself… It’s powerfully blasting its name all over your job site.Think about it this way, a job site is not a quiet place. Construction is not a quiet occupation. This singular unit is designed to be heard over the sounds of an active job site… And it does so with crisp, booming, deep, warm, extraordinary audio quality… It really sounds great… I was taken aback! This speaker’s 1000 ft range will satisfy most, and for larger job sites, up to five of these MODboxs can be paired together… Wow!You might think that it stops there… but no, there’s more folks, there is more! The MODbox also doubles as a power bank. It’s built right into the unit. Talk about a tool that multitasks. Not only will one have the pleasure of… (get ready…) 20+ hours of continuous music on a full charge… But moreover, 12 hours of charging via USB-A or USB-C ports, from the built-in power bank.Quality sound such as this, blended with a speaker specifically designed to be not only rugged… but used outdoors, had me smiling from ear to ear. I’m not a tradesman, I don’t work at construction sites… but, I definitely am an outdoorsman.I go camping and on fishing trips with my buddies and this rugged, highly reliable sound system is going to now be our new form of musical entertainment while in the wilderness!Booming reliable music, plus the ability to act as a power bank follows the outdoorsman philosophy perfectly. Never rely on simply one tool (which is necessary) to get a job done. Always give yourself alternatives and backups while in the wilds… This MODbox fits the bill. There’s more…So, let’s say you are like me. You are going to utilize this superlative sound system not at a job site, but for another reason entirely. The manufacturer has thought about this. The back of this MODbox has two extremely strong magnets built into the unit itself. Any place where there is metal (which attracts magnetically) is a place where this sound system can now reside… And let me tell you folks it holds tight!Just think, you get a pickup game playing basketball going, and you want to have everyone able to listen to music while you’re playing. With the magnetic backing of this MODbox the court would be blasting with your tunes… You can literally, magnetically attach this sound system to the pole holding the hoop and backboard… So many uses for this excellent product beyond a construction site.I know that my friend group and I will be attaching this MODbox to a main tent pole while camping… Or onto one of our boats when fishing… Really, simply placing it on the ground and turning it on would actually be sufficient. It’s built so well and it is extremely loud.As I am presently not in the wilderness, I tested this MODbox by pairing it with one of my smart TVs. The process was absolutely seamless and took less than 5 seconds in order to pair. The sound that filled the room was all encompassing. I literally could not leave it at its maximum volume. From treble to bass… this little magic box filled the room with sound that seemed to surround me.All of the controls are manual and are found on the top of the box. They are very intuitive and do not require much in the way of explanation in order to have things up and running quite swiftly. Adequate instructions are also included. The one thing that I was surprised about was that this does not come with a remote control. It’s the only thing lacking. I am assuming that they chose not to include a remote because the logical assumption is that at a work site or in the wilderness, one will be connecting to one’s phone and the phone itself will then act as a remote control. Not a big deal, but worth mentioning.Incidentally, Klein Tools makes more than one model of this product, this is the “Big Daddy” of the group… If you’re going to go for it… go big!… It is so very worth it.This is a fantastic product that I highly Recommend! ✅(I think Abraham Lincoln would have liked this company too).
