This PETLIBRO camera has been such a game changer for me. I work long hours, and I used to feel bad leaving my dog home alone. Now I can check in on him anytime right from my phone, it’s honestly such a relief.The video is super clear, and I love that the camera rotates so I can see the whole room. The two-way talk feature is great too I call his name and he runs over to the camera wagging his tail. It seriously melts my heart!I also like that it sends alerts when there’s barking or movement, it’s nice not having to constantly watch, but still know what’s going on.Overall, this is such a great product if you have pets and want to stay connected while you’re out. Setup was easy, the app works well, and it gives me peace of mind every day. Highly recommend!

best pets camera！！
I’ve been using this camera for a while and it works really well. The video quality is clear and the app is easy to use. I mainly use it to check on my pets when I’m not home, and the motion alerts are helpful. The connection is stable and the two-way audio is smooth. Overall, it gives me peace of mind and feels worth the price.

Bricked for a second time
I originally purchased this camera in mid August. The first one I received was DOA so I exchanged it for another one and all was well. It was easy to set up and did a fairly good job of identifying my 4 cats. I was disappointed to find the features I was most interested in all required additional cost subscriptions but that was also OK.What was not OK was the obviously defective firmware upgrade process. The first time I was prompted by the app to upgrade the firmware, I clicked OK, the process went until 95% complete and then failed. Pressing the prompted “Retry” button did nothing. The camera, although mechanically functional was useless as the app would only recognize it as offline.I opened a support ticked and went through all troubleshooting steps (reset camera, re add to app, etc.) and nothing worked. The camera would reset fine, the app would recognize it as new camera but adding to the point of functionality would always fail.Support finally sent me a new camera and I returned the broken one. The new camera (now my third) again worked perfectly fine for another few weeks until yesterday I was gain prompted to upgrade the firmware. I was hesitant at first, but I figured they must have solved their issue by now and I did not want to be bugged every time I opened the app so I went ahead and initiated the process.It did EXACTLY the same thing it did before and now I am once again left with a non functional, fairly expensive (for what you actually get) camera.

HONEST review of the PetLibro Scout
Before I write about the downfalls of the PetLibro Scout, I would like I mention that I am a self-proclaimed PetLibro girlie and I use the automatic RFID feeder and fountain for my cat. I really stand by the products and have recommended them to countless clients. That being said, I was not super impressed with the Scout. I’m going to outline the pros and cons.Important details: Using the camera horizontally on a coffee table (tried vertical and gave up), I own 1 camera, and have the monthly paid basic package for the camera.>The mounting stand 4/5: I loved how it came with complete equipment to mount on a horizontal or vertical surface. My old camera was easy to tip over but because this one locks in place by turning and has a flat, adhesive bottom, my cat can’t knock it over.>>Stand vertical placement: There is no HEIGHT recommendation to mount it vertically. I wanted my camera to be vertical, so I started there. It was too high up it seems and the camera would miss my cat very often and would not “see” her activity. After some time, it would go “dormant” or something and look straight down, so I’d get a view of the floor and it REALLY wouldn’t detect my cat after doing that since she’s extremely unlikely to walk by some random corner. The way it could turn while up in a corner was also limited. It could see very far right but not to the left, so I got a great view of the right wall but it couldn’t even catch her in her window.>Wifi and connectivity 3/5: Lacking. I often try to load my camera after getting a notification or want to check in and it will sometimes not even load or give me an error message.. even when I’m at home. It defeats the purpose. I usually keep trying to reload it until it works, but sometimes if I’m on the go, I don’t get another chance to check in and end up a little disappointed.>AI recognition 2/5: This is my real point of interest. Remember, it is AI and you MUST train AI. It won’t come already able to recognize your pet. I added images to my review to show how the camera can be (often) wrong, especially if you set the settings high for recognition. The camera once thought my cart wheel was my cat and recorded it ALL night. It detected motion due to light and recorded my kitchen (because of the cart wheel) ALL night. After it did this, it completely crapped out and stopped working completely. I had to unplug and replug to rescue it (it worked fine after plugging it back in). I DO think this is useful for knowing when my cat is sleeping or awake as I get a notification she is in the living room. This is primarily what I like this feature for. If this isn’t improved (the rage etc, I may not continue my paid subscription)>>There is a RANGE to this camera. I have this in my living room where it is literally facing the PetLibro RFID feeder and can also see her fountain in the kitchen AND her litter robot but it has NEVER recognized her as eating, drinking, or using the litter box. I fed her treats in front of the camera (closer) and it seems it can only recognize within a few feet for some reason. It can still SEE her and tell me she is there, but doesn’t recognize some actions.>>>IMPORTANT: To TAIN your AI, you must go to your app, select your camera, and click on the little octagon with the circle inside on the top right. Click “Pets link to device” then click your pet. Every day you will get new photos in the recognition gallery and you NEED to correct your camera if those items are not your pet. You click the little white box and say “not a pet” or select the pet it is. While you are teaching your camera, prepare to get notifications your pet is “on the move” when they are sleeping right by you.. in a room the camera isn’t in.>Video quality: Crystal clear video (when it loads)>Night vision 5/5: Huge positive. Excellent night vision. (see photo of AI recognizing my cat at night playing)>Sound capability 5/5: You can talk to you pet or activate a “bird” noise to get your pet’s attention. You can also listen to the audio in the room with your camera. I don’t use this function often, but it works well.>Highlight feature 2/5: This camera picks the weirdest highlights. I keep waiting for it to give me a good compilation so I can share it with my friends, but it’s always just her walking by briefly or me walking by and then it films the sofa for 20 seconds, then it’s over.>Overall look 5/5: Very sleek and beautifully designed product. Follows the pet by “looking” and is quiet.>Setup 5/5: Easy set up like all other PetLibro devices.>Conclusion 4/5 but was close to 3/5: Is this superior to other cameras? YES. Why? It can recognize your pet and follow it while also recording and notifying you. Not many other cameras can do that. The log shows you exactly when they were awake, etc. and it saves a video. This camera has MANY, MANY purposes for medical use (like PetLibro’s other products) and as a veterinarian, I love this product. However, it has a LOT of room to grow. I think the true use of this product would shine with increased range or purchasing of more than one camera to fill that range discrepancy. At the present, its new AI capabilities ARE worth it in my opinion. Maybe it’s just not worth the premium capabilities.. yet.
