Replacement
My original remote was warm and not working. I took out the batteries and they were very hot. I let them cool for a day and even changed the batteries. Remote would not work. Looked online and found instances of this happening and the remote had to be replaced. A replacement remote is about $30. Which is what I paid for the fire stick. I saw this version for less than a third of the price and decided to give it a shot. I followed the instructions included and after a few tries got it to pair. It feels a little different than the original remote (lighter) but it works and it was less expensive so I’m not complaining.

Parts for parts!
I’m giving this remote a five star for being exactly what I needed, parts to repair my original Fire stick 4K Max (2 Gen) remote.On ordering I looked at the pictures and found one that was most identical to the original.My original remote fell off the coffee table and the center controls and buttons flew everywhere. I didn’t realize this until after my wife vacuumed and there was parts that I could not find. Physically this remote was almost 100% physically identical and 60% less expensive than a new one for my fire stick. Not only that if anything happens to the original I still have more parts!

Great Price for a Fire TV Remote
This a great price for a Fire TV Pro remote. At $8 bucks, you can’t beat it. It feels and works just like the Amazon remote, however, it is not an original Fire TV remote. This aftermarket remote has 2 additional programmable buttons (in addition to Netflix, Disney, Prime Video and Hulu), as well as a button to pair to your Bluetooth headphones. I added a shortcut to my remote to launch YouTube TV (button 1) and YouTube (button 2), which is very useful. IMPORTANT READ the DIRECTIONS for PAIRING: When I paired my remote (I still had my original remote) using the standard “add a remote” function, the following buttons did not work: Power, Mute, Volume Up and Volume Down. I thought this was a faulty remote and was going to return it until I realized that, after reading the directions, all you needed to do was use the IR pairing function. I paired all 4 buttons mapping my old remote to the new remote and everything worked perfectly. If you don’t have your existing remote, simply unplug your Fire TV, then plug it back in, wait for the can’t find your remote dialog, then use the Equipment Control setup for the new remote. I would recommend this replacement remote and would definitely purchase it again when I need a replacement.
