Effectively New
I purchased six of the 16Tb WD DC HC550 Enterprise hard drives because I needed a storage upgrade with a discount. I read the reviews and they said the drives had no hours on them according to a SMART report. I received six drives, each of which declared no errors and no hours on each of them. They are currently happily spinning away in my HTPC.About the Seller – Tech on Tech: This store did not need to provide the tape and cable adapter to make sure that these hard drives worked with my older power supplies, but they did. They even went lengths to explain why they were providing these cables & tape. Above and beyond the call of duty there, Tech on Tech. I am spreading word of your company and products to anyone that needs storage.About the hard drives and their noise: yes, these are enterprise-grade mass storage devices, and in a quiet/silent case, they can sound a bit like thunder as they read/write/start up. I have read reviews that dinged stars for their noise. Just be aware, that’s what these drives will do. My 16Tb drives, when they are accessing, are audible from across a silent living room/kitchen combo room.

Tech on Tech is my go to
I was skeptical about buying used or refurbished hard drives admittedly but with current enterprise drive prices I took a gamble and was thoroughly satisfied. I cannot vouch for other vendors but I buy from Tech on Tech exclusively due to their prices and quality assurance. Each drive comes in its own box and is static bag sealed. they are also marked with the refurbished date. Performance is great, I would recommend these to anyone that wants to build their photo collection or PLEX library. This is my second time buying and the original drives are still running strong without any failures.(I own Three 16TB drives)

Can’t beat the price per TB.
I bought 3 of these to use in an Unraid data server. Installation was easy, however these drive will likely require you use the supplied adaptor as they were originally intended for datacenters. So if you are going for slick look and sexy wire management that you want to stare at thru the side window of a tower under RGB lighting… this would not be a great choice. However, if you are going to hide it away and the looks of the adaptor don’t matter? You simply can’t beat the value.

Cam’t beat the price
I purchased 3 of these to use in a Raid setup. Very well packaged. Quick delivery. They come with a extra power adapter cable that you may need if your system has an older power supply. I plugged a drive into my older computer and the drive didn’t show up in disk management. Thought the worst. Before deciding the drive was DOA, I tried the power adapter cable and the drive spun right up no problem. The S>M>A>R>T> data showed that the drives were as good as brand new. These drives have performed extremely well after transferring 500 GB 64.7K files.

Stunning HDD for the price
As I type this review I am copying over 6tb of data to this 16tb drive. After receiving this hard drive (in some very nice packaging I might add), I ran it through the Western Digital Diagnosis software. After a short test it passed with flying colors.I currently have this drive installed in my Yottamaster 4 Bay RAID Enclosure. I simply slid the hard drive into it and it immediately came up in disk management. After a quick format of the drive, I was good to go. A+++

Kapton tape is annoying but great value
The drive is like-new in outer appearance, SMART data, and lack of any bad sectors. The included power cable and Kapton tape are nice touches but I can’t use the power cable due to having hot-swap trays for the drives. Having the (pre-cut) tape included reduces it to merely annoying so I’d be willing to buy more.

Will not mount Interanlly in MacPro 2012
This drive mounted in an external box just fine, but would not mount internally in my MacPro 2012 5,1 running MacOS 10.14Had to return it and buy another 18TB arsenal drive. There is something different about the connectors. The main SATA connector is normal but the rest of the interface looks different.

Using in a Synology NAS and seems to work very well!
This batch included some information and power cables for some having issues with the POWER DISABLE feature. Haven’t had any issues with the ones I’ve purchase, some are active RAID and some are HOT STANDBY and I shut the thing off at night since the spin down settings seem to have no affect on the spinning the drives down during non-use times.
