A great camera with expensive features for less!
A great security camera. Some of the standout features: super easy setup. Low lag and small size, easy to use and a feature I wasn’t even aware it had, when it detects movement it can track the subject automatically! It also has a private mode that you can automate when you arrive home and disable when you leave using a geofence. This physically positions the camera lens straight down that shows the folks in the room it’s disabled. Leave the house and it’s back up and patrolling. Very cool tech with high res 4k. Excellent value for the money!

Best cameras I’ve ever had for the money
These things are really great for what you’re paying. I’ve been running 6 of them for about a year now. They pan/tilt and have ONVIF support so you can use them on NVRs that support it. Two of them I have set up to receive ONVIF commands from home assistant so they can pan and tilt on a schedule. While this is all going on, I still get the notifications on my phone and can watch remotely while I’m away. The downsides:They’re wifi, so you have to have a strong 2.4ghz signal and that might not work for you.The built in “patrol” function isn’t great because it doesn’t let you limit the range of motion and timing. I use ONVIF commands to drive mine between presets on a schedule. Works perfectly. The app isn’t very good for speaking from them. The speaker and mic are great, but the app just loves to disconnect from the calls.

But this camera!!
The TP-LINK Tapo camera/system is way better than Ring, Nest, Arlo, and Chinese hidden cameras. No subscription needed because it accepts an SD card. (◕ᴥ◕ʋ)I’m a dog sitter, so I’ve tested loads of Wi-Fi cameras. I’m able to set it up in different homes within a minute. The app, picture quality, night vision, and alarm are excellent. If you’re not sure what to get then try the TP-LINK Tapo camera. Their other home automation gadgets are cool too. I got the smart plug and it’s excellent. Everything is inexpensive!

So I wanna get this five stars but tried to connect it to the hub that also came out this year and it says the firmware is not supported. Just got an update today September 7 and still no hub support disappointed by this but the picture quality is awesome for stars Till they fix the hub situation

Okay Tipo you got a lifetime fan now. This camera supports my 5Hz WiFi connection, yes it was little priced than other brands but at least you don’t have to subscribe to get good features. I wish the other Tipo cameras had both the 2.5 & 5 Hz, but I became a fan of this specific camera after the first time using it.I just got my 9 week old puppy and they are a handful. Always getting into things and I can’t always watch him 24/7, well now I can rely on my Tipo C260 camera as an extra set of eyes. It has 360 motion, night visions, inverted view for an upside camera, camera holder, modern look, easy set up, camera view points, motion detection, microphone, speakers, etc..I used it for the first time in my puppy’s crate, I felt so guilty leaving him for the first time completely alone and this camera perfectly recorded his movements, sounds, and snoozes. This camera gave me so much comfort, I highly recommend. Dog parent approved!-Tiff & Loki🐾

Well designed and very useful.
It works as expected. Good night vision. Clear picture. Pan and tilt very helpful. This is my third Tapo camera, all purchased at different times. Easy set up. The camera prompts me to format a micro SD card, and the power cord is longer than expected. It functions well with the Tapo app and was immediately recognized by Alexa. I’m very pleased.

Excellent 4K Camera with Smooth Setup — Mounting Design Could Be Better
The Tapo 4K Pan/Tilt Camera delivers impressive image clarity, accurate motion tracking, and a seamless setup experience. It connected quickly to Wi-Fi and the Tapo app recognized it right away, letting me monitor live 4K video within minutes. Motion detection is responsive, and night vision produces sharp detail with realistic contrast. It integrates cleanly with Alexa and Google Assistant for voice-controlled viewing. My only complaint is aesthetic and mounting-related. I wish it came in black instead of only white — I used a black Sharpie to blend it with my dark garage ceiling, and you truly can’t tell the difference from below. The mounting bracket design works, but it looks awkward when attached to a ceiling. Tapo should include two separate mounts — one for wall use and one for ceiling installation — to make placement more professional.✅ Pros• Crisp 4K video quality with smooth pan & tilt• Quick and simple setup via Tapo app• Excellent motion tracking and night vision• Supports both SD and cloud storage• Smart-home integration with Alexa and Google Assistant⚠️ Cons• Only offered in white (color options would help)• Mounting bracket looks awkward on a ceiling🟩 VerdictA superb indoor security camera for the price — offering premium 4K clarity and smart features without complicated setup. If Tapo adds a black version and a dual-mount option, it would be near perfect.
