Elegant to look at, and works as described.
This switch was easy to install. It works as designed. I have this hooked up to wifi to be visible to the Alexa app on my iphone, from which I can control it. I do NOT control the switched outlet (I just leave it on all the time), but I can and do remotely control the switch portion.It’s attractive, very clean looking, with a minimalist appearance. It has a snap-on cover, so you don’t even see screws holding the plate on.The screw connections were easy to use.Like most smart outlets, the portion that fits inside the junction box is larger than a standard plug, so you may have to work to have the existing wires in the box moved to the back and sides to make room for this. But that is true of any smart outlet.I am quite pleased with this item.

swith and outlet not independent in Smartlife app but are in Alexa
In the Smartlife app, on the homepage, the on/off switch on the icon controls both the switch and socket together. Only if one taps on the icon does it pull up a double icon where the switch and socket can be controlled independently. But the switch and the socket DO have independent icons in the linked Alexa app. But Alexa (so far) won’t voice control the switch (I disabled the socket icon in the Alexa app as I need the socket on all the time for a fridge). This isn’t supposed to be this difficult.Update 4 days later-once or twice a day, this @#W$% device loses its network connection – I even put a new eero router four feet away from the device, and it STILL is losing connection. I’m about ready to give it one star instead of two.Now, after about 10 days, things seem to gave settled down and the switch more or less consistently works with alexa – as long as my router extension is within 4 feet of the switch. I would still like to be able to have the socket bypass the wifi, So I can be sure it stays live for the fridge that is plugged in.Update at 2.5 weeks: I plugged a cube tap into the socket, and plugged a night light into one of the cube tap outlets which now prevents me from accidentally touching the control for the socket. And I was able to disable the socket control in Alexa, though not in smartlife. So, unless I use the smartlife app directly (which I seldom do), I am pretty much protected from accidentally turning off the socket. I also plugged a “electricity off” alarm into the cube tap, and mounted the eero extension on the side of the fridge directly across (ie, 2 inches from) the device. So I think things are working OK now, but as mentioned, it shouldn’t be this difficult.Also had one of these put in son’s house where. Didn’t have trouble with wifi signal there (no fridge blocking signal). Did have to disable the socket part in Alexa since he also wants the socket continually live.

The switch constantly disconnects and is offline.It works good when connected, but I wouldn’t consider this a smart switch it’s always offline.I would not recommend or buy again!It is expensive and I’m out of the return window.Garbage!UPDATE: This switch works in close proximity 10ft-20ft. This is either direct wifi or bluetooth switch. Very disappointing.

I requested this smart outlet because I.understand based on the description that it is a regular switch and receptacle. For my surprise when I received it, the box indicated that a neutral cable was required. Therefore I was not able to use it since my house doesn’t have neutral wires in its electrical wiring. This detail should be clearly specified in the information provided in the sales posting.
