Does this alarm have UL certification? Can it pass a pool inspection?
No. While many families use this alarm for pool doors, it does not meet the UL 2017 standard and won’t pass a pool inspection.
What type of batteries is it powered by?
The Door Alarm is powered by 2 AAA (No. 7) batteries, please note that the package does not include batteries.
Can it be installed outdoors?
The waterproof capability is weak. It is recommended for indoor use and not for outdoor use.
How loud is alarm sound? the volume be adjusted?
The door alarm has 90dB and 120dB volume options. Press the “S” button on the remote to switch, and it saves your setting for next arming. In addition, if you still feel that it is very loud, you can use your own tape to put on the horn.
How to install?
Place the magnetic component on the arrow side of the main unit, keeping a distance under 0.39″ (lab-tested, though slight variation may occur due to angle). They don’t have to be level—parallel, vertical, or angled is fine.

They work OK but watch our for false alarm
We have some curious grandkids, so alarmed a couple closets. These stick easily even on a painted surface and are loud when they go off — so far, so good. The remotes have a really long range — worked throughout the entire house! But the electronics here is all one happy family meaning that both remotes work with both alarms at the same time: enable both, disable both, etc. No selectivity but for the price, it’s fine.The only reason this got 4 stars is that even though the magnet was within the range accepted and lined up perfectly (see picture), this one alarm would just go off for no reason randomly once or so per day — nobody was near the door and the sensor setup you see is inside the closet itself, so nobody is tampering with it. I tried to rearrange the magnet but to no avail. I will note it was only one of the two units that had this problem, so maybe this unit was defective. Anyway, 4 stars explained.

I recently purchased the Metak wireless door alarm for my motel room door/ window while traveling for work, and I couldn’t be more pleased with its performance. Installation was incredibly easy setting it up took no time at all. Once in place, the alarm is extremely loud and serves as an effective deterrent if the door is opened unexpectedly.I haven’t had any issues with false alarms or connectivity, and the alarm seems to be very reliable. One of the features I really appreciated was that the set came with two alarms, which is great for securing multiple entry points around the house. Additionally, the arm and disarm controls are very easy to read and use, making the system simple to manage.For the price, I definitely think this product offers great value. Overall, I highly recommend it for anyone looking for an affordable and efficient way to enhance home security.

Loud little door guards, but a few hiccups
Picked up these door alarms for some extra peace of mind. They’re pretty easy to stick on – just peel and press. No drilling or anything, which is nice. The remote control’s handy, lets you turn them on and off without having to reach up to the sensors. They’re pretty loud when they go off, definitely would wake you up if someone tried to sneak in. Been using them on my front and back doors for a couple weeks now. They seem to work okay most of the time. But they’re not perfect. Had a few false alarms when the wind blew the door a bit too hard. The adhesive’s strong, but I’m not sure how long it’ll last in humid weather. The remote range isn’t quite as far as they claim – works fine inside the house, but not from the driveway. Battery life seems decent so far, but I’m keeping spares just in case. They’re a bit bulky on sliding doors, stick out more than I’d like. Overall, they’re okay if you want some basic door security without much fuss. Just don’t expect them to be as fancy as a pro system. Decent for the price, but you might need to fiddle with them a bit to get them working just right.

I live in a ground floor apartment and was always a little anxious about someone trying to get in through my sliding glass door at night. These have given me such peace of mind.The quality is really good for such an affordable product. They were super easy to install with just the adhesive strips, no tools needed. The remote is a game changer because I can easily arm and disarm the whole system from my bed or couch without getting up.It completely solved my anxiety about my front door and windows. Now if one is opened while it’s armed, the alarm is seriously loud enough to wake me up and definitely scare off anyone trying to get in. It’s also great for when I have the windows open during the day and want to remember to close them at night.Using this system feels just like having a basic version of a professional home security system. This was very simple to use and found it effective to know when a door was opened, and can be used for family members with dementia (wandering). I imagine it would be great for those with small children who are hard to contain (lil’ escape artists) while under supervision lol you’ll know the instant a door or window is opened. Was not difficult to install.

My mom is 92 and still lives independently in her own apartment. She is deaf in one ear and needs a hearing aid in the other. She worries about night time safety, and wanted security that no one could get access to her apartment while she was sleeping, as with her deafness, she wouldn’t be able to hear anyone working the lock (it’s a very old apartment, so who knows how many people have keys, and the landlord doesn’t want the locks changed as they need access with a master key). She used to use a rolling cart in front of the door so that if someone did get around the lock, they would have to push the cart out of the way, making noise. This door alarm has helped with her worry. Even with her hearing issues, the loud alarm would easily alert her to the door being opened. I plan to get another one to apply to her patio door, as that is another issue in terms of security, being on the ground floor.

I received one blk alarm with remote and mounting hardware.This works well, as described. The alarm is very loud and definitely gets a persons attention.The doorbell option is good for use during the day , it alerts us that someone has come in or gone outside, but doesn’t set off a constant alarm, just a “doorbell” type alert. Setting the constant alarm for night time is easy.The remote is easy to pair with the alarm and can be kept on my keychain.My only issue has been the stickiness of the adhesive, it doesn’t hold the greatest and had to be reinforced to avoid it falling down with any vibration.The magnets seem strong, when tested over time the two magnetized pieces, when lined up properly sense each other easily when close vs not.Works great so far for our patio door. I like the added security this adds.
