It’s been many many years since I’ve had a robot vacuum, back when iRobot was the only game in town. With multiple pets in the house, I went through three of them pretty quickly and on the last one, needing a new deck for the fifth time was the final straw. Fast forward to this month. It’s fall, I have 6 cats in the house, plus I’m in and out several times a day, tracking in leaves and mud. Decided to treat myself and get a new robot that could vac *and* mop. After watching a few videos, I’d narrowed it down to the Roborock Qrevo Pro. But that price sure made me gulp; should I take a chance and wait for a Black Friday sale? I happened to see the Yeedi M12+ Ultra; the specs looked good and on sale, the price was a few hundred dollars less than the Roborock. Why suffer any longer? I pulled the trigger. I’ve had it for almost two weeks now and am in love with this thing!!! I wasn’t expecting it to be so huge, but was happy to make room for it.Unpacking it was a breeze. The only tricky part about setup was the process of connecting to the home network and quick mapping of my house. Heads up: Editing the maps is extremely limited, so it’s worth taking the time to get your house ready to successfully map from the start: get as much off the floor as you can (rugs, anything movable like chairs, toys, etc.), and let the Yeedi have access to everywhere it will need to clean (on one level), even rooms you might normally have closed off. Make sure everything’s well lit. Then let the Yeedi do it’s thing. For my 820 sf house, it probably mapped it in about 10 minutes.If there’s anything that’s maybe somewhat lacking, it’s the software. As mentioned before, editing maps is rudimentary and you don’t want to have to do very much: you can combine rooms, divide, and marquee-select areas you don’t want cleaned. Setting up cleaning scenarios is easy and so is scheduling. You can watch the Yeedi at work in the app, monitoring its path. While it’s cleaning, a voice announces when the Yeedi needs to return to the base to empty the dustbin, dump the water, clean the pads, recharge. You can fine tune cleaning speed, vacuum suction, amount of water for mopping, 1 or 2 passes, pad drying time.So how does it clean? Magnificently! I have mostly hardwood floors throughout, vinyl in the kitchen, tiled bathroom and short pile area rugs. The Yeedi does a great job of vacuuming especially on rugs, however it sometimes gets hung up on lightweight rug corners and doesn’t do as well on hi-lo pile designs. The mopping has been exceptional and this feature makes me the happiest. I have my hardworking buddy vacuuming daily and mopping the kitchen twice a week. It’s lovely to see a clean floor every day, where I don’t have the annoyance of stepping barefoot on cat litter (which gets tracked all over the house), or seeing dust/fur bunnies growing in corners. With the money I saved not going with the Roborock, I bought the 3-year insurance. I’m hopeful this robot can rise up to the challenge of multiple pets and busy homeowner life for at least a couple years.

The only thing going for this machine is that it was cheap, to have it for sale at ~500 AUD is unconscionable.
