    Fair price for the capacity
Used these drives for a TrueNAS home setup. Capacity and costGB was fair. I did see one drive fail smart tests immediately and was able to work with the supplier to get it swapped out. These work as expected.

    Good price, bad drives (avoid).
I bought 12 of these. So far I have exchanged 7 of them. Some have loads of bad sectors and a few just went dead (not recognized as attached).I currently have 10 working ones in a raid10 array, I am waiting on 2 replacements to get the array back to full strength. While it is a great price, be prepared to exchange 50% or more of the drives until you have working ones.If you are not putting these into a raid array be prepared to lose data.Update now up to 10 of 12 drives failed.I have a 12 drive raid10 array and 11 of the 12 are currently working, but I have sent back 10 drives total to date.I am waiting on the replacement for the last bad drive to see if the array will be at full strength.I think the quality of these drives has significantly dropped since I bought Seagate in the past.

    Tested and verified
I had my doubts, with all the fake ones going around but this one is great. It arrived well packaged and in perfect condition. I verified it was brand new with zero power-on hours, no reallocated sectors, and passed full SMART diagnostics and a surface scan without errors. Very happy with the quality and performance so far. Great value. Would buy again.

SS02 Firmware is noisy, one drive was DOA
I bought a pair of 2, and one of them was DOA; Seagate gave me no trouble whatsoever with an RMA and it wasn’t too painful. As another reviewer mentioned the SS02 firmware is quite noisy, after upgrading the firmware to SS04 it’s fine.

    Used? Old? Unsure. Definite no
Lasted a few hours before starting to get bad sectors, and about ~18 hours before it became nearly unusable as a drive. The SMART data appeared to be new when I powered it on, but the drive itself seems to not be. It honestly started out great with nice Read/Write speeds, but at this time it is capping out ~500 kbps with a lot of errors and >4000 bad sectors after less than a day, definite nope from me. I’ve confirmed it’s the drive by trying several other drives in the same bay, only this drive has these problems. Shipped in an nondescript no-label box with some bubbly plastic stuff. You get what you pay for I guess, decent price if it works.

Bad Seller, Bd transaction . Lost 6 gigs of data
Failed in less than a monthI returned it. Contacted seller 2 times. They received the item and have NOT issued my refund. Very dissatisfied with the seller and Amazon. Trying to find a way to contact Amazon about this, but have not been successful.Bad Transaction

    Probably system pulls
Bought 3 of these for an enclosure that had 4TB drives in it. 2 of the drives wouldn’t write any data at all. The other started, then started erroring out. I would not buy these drives from this company.

    failed validation testing
All five of the drives I ordered failed validation testing with smartctl and/or badblocks errors. These are likely used drives. That’s why they were cheaper I suppose…

As others have stated as well, this is a refurbished/revised product, not new. It was originally part of an OEM purchase and as such there is no warranty from Seagate itself. Although I have absolutely no problem with used (or not new) disks being sold, it should be clearly stated and not hidden away in the “RPM” section of the specifications.
