Good mesh link, but The mesh links are good, but I have issues with access point roaming.
Good mesh link, but The mesh links are good, but I have issues with access point roaming. After the initial setup, the mesh works well with the access points communicating with each other. However, I run into issues when moving between different areas in my large house. I primarily set up this mesh network to reach wireless security cameras in the detached shed and detached garage, which have benefited from having a nearby access point. The issue is that my phone tends to remain connected to the main access point in the house even as I move toward the garage or the shed.have issues with access point roaming.

Garbage
Complete garbage. Used to work in IT and their setup is so wonky. Only one unit worked at a time. Couldn’t get the second set to pair. Failed everytime. Second set was due to terrible delivery practices from AMZ on the first one. Ordered TP Link repeaters to replace and of course the boxes arrived smashed in. Going to try them and I bet they probably still work. That or yet ANOTHER return.

It works
Gets the wifi to the dead spots enough to keep PCs from losing pages and reloading . We had to juggle spots to find the best one.

decent for extending but you need a firewall for protection
These are small almost tiny units so they can hide and not stand out as part of the decor. Setup was fairly simple as far as wireless networking goes. It’s not plug-and-play! You do need to set some things! Once you’re setup they work. They provide decent coverage and good speed. I know 1200Mbps isn’t screaming fast like other systems but realistically, who can use anything faster when connected to the internet? I like the 4 ports for hard-wired connections. My legacy printer thanks you DBIT.So, why 3 stars?Setup could be simpler. It feels more like an extender than a true mesh network. No firewall or complex routing features. The units are so small and light they almost feel like a toy instead of a solid performing piece of equipment like they have been so far.Overall I like them but they need some clarity on features and setup.

It works
I took a chance with this and took down my old ASUS wifi system. This router is super light and made entirely of plastic. I even doubted it will work. The setup works better with wired connection which I already have. One router was able to supply signal to my home office. Wifi connectivity was stable at first. Speed-wise, it was okay. It didn’t drop the signal as long as you stay in range. We really don’t have that much smart devices to begin with. This would be great it you’re the type that keeps adding smart gadgets. You just have to add more of these units to cover the distance. However, it didn’t really give me an upgrade from what I used to have. Remember that this is only Wifi 5. We currently already have wifi 6 available on the market. If I am to spend additional cash, I should spend it for something that is more forward compatible. THOUGHTS – I ended up still using my old router and used this router for a specific group of devices in the house. I have not yet noticed any interruption from or with my ASUS wifi system. Would I buy another one? No. Would I recommend somebody else to get one of these? No. I would recommend them to buy Wifi 6 routers.
