This machine is impressive!
I have been an owner/user of robot vacs for years. I have a large house and usually have two robots in action each day. I have been a long time fan of Roombas in the past but this new Dreame L50 Ultra machine blows everything away that I have owned and tried. I mentioned that I have a large house. My house also has a lot of furniture, obstacles, and pets. Some of the obstacles are in hallways and there are lots of chairs like bar stools, and dining room chairs. I was skeptical that the Dreame L50 would be able to do a decent job but decided to give it a try. Wow! Call me impressed. I received it last night, downloaded the app, got it connected, filled with water and cleaner, and let it charge. Using the app, I set a schedule to run every night (after we go to bed). The robot successfully mapped AND cleaned (mopping and vacuuming) the entire floor space that it could reach on the first go. The “Clean genius” (Dreame’s AI) was awesome, sensing dirty high traffic areas and applying the proper cleaning methods to make everything spotless. When we got up in the morning and inspected the floors, my wife commented that the floors were sparkling clean (and she is not easily impressed).Setup of the machine and equipment was extremely easy and fast. I had the entire thing unboxed, on the base, filled with water and cleaner, and connected to the app in about 30 minutes. I found the app easy to navigate and understand and extremely responsive. Every time I made a choice in the app, the robot almost instantly gave an audible response confirming the choice. This was also true during connection to the wifi through the app as well. The app walks you through the connection process and it worked flawlessly with no ambiguity or guess work. It also connected almost instantly. The clean and dirty water reservoirs are super easy to access and fill/empty as well. Cleanser filling was equally easy. This machine was extremely well designed and engineered (I am an aerospace engineer btw). Everything went together smoothly and I did not have a single issue with any part of the setup. Simply awesome. When I emptied the dirty water the next day I was surprised at how dirty the water was. We have the vac set up to vacuum and mop every day and will keep it that way until we start getting mostly clean waste water. At that point we plan to decrease the mopping frequency. I can’t say enough about how well this machine works. Well worth the (admittedly) high price we paid. The Dreame L50 ultra has my highest recommendation.

Great combination vacuum/mop. The tech is finally ready. The app could offer better customization.
This is my first robot vacuum, bought after checking many reviews and research, and I’m very pleased with its performance and ease of use. No real issues so far.My space is a mix of hard and carpet/rug floors, and the combination vacuum and mop let’s me easily manage basic cleaning of both throughout the weak. The app is fairly easy to use for configuring a cleaning schedule and mapping out your home. I have it run during the day so I can come home to freshly cleaned floors. My only improvement recommendation is for greater customization features in the app to really fine tune both the mapping of cleaning zones, and the desired cleaning settings and procedures for handling each zone. While the vacuum is great for my layout, shoppers who have complex or densely furnished layouts should know that while the robot will try it’s best to get anywhere it can, it’s width will prevent it from getting into some spaces or corners in their entirety.

Vacuum will not return to dock.
Purchased this vacuum and was really excited once it came in. Hooked up it did everything it said to do with setting it and it started cleaning and worked great. Then it had to go back to dock and charge. Well for some reason it would never go back to the dock. It tried a few times and then stopped and sent me an error message. I did all the troubleshooting tips, cleaned sensors, changed locations, reset it, did everything, and still same results. It would never dock. So I just decided to return it. I mean over a $1k vacuum it should work. So went through the return process, packed it back up, took it to local UPS and sent it off. Got notification where they received it. Then got a notification where it is going to take like 30 days to receive the refund. I am like are you serious. So I just waited, then the day I am suppose to receive the refund, I get a message that says refund can’t be received. There is no damage, and it should not take that long anyways to refund the product.Spoke with amazon customer service and after a while, I was able to get a refund, but if you have a product that doesn’t function at all like returning back to charger. It should not take 30 days to get refund first, and then there should not be an act of congress to make it happen. Rant over, I wouldn’t recommend this product to anyone. I went with the Roborock Saros 10R Vacuum and Mop, and love it. It works 10 times better. That would be my chose.

I’ve had the DREAME L50 Ultra for about a month now and I’m really impressed. The suction power is excellent—definitely stronger than my old robot vacuum—and it actually picks up pet hair and small debris from both carpet and hardwood floors. The DuoBrush design really helps prevent tangling, which used to be a big issue for me.The mopping function is also very effective. I like that it cleans and dries the mop automatically, so I don’t have to touch dirty pads. The auto-empty feature is another time saver—the dustbin really does last a couple of weeks before I need to change the bag.Navigation is precise. It avoids toys and chair legs without bumping into things, and the mapping was quick and accurate. The app is easy to use, and I can set no-go zones or schedule cleanings without hassle.Overall, this feels like a premium robot vacuum. It’s not cheap, but if you want something that truly minimizes manual work, it’s worth the investment.

Setup was straightforward overall, though getting the Wi-Fi connected took a bit of extra time—I had to redo the pairing once before everything clicked. After that, smooth sailing. The app is excellent, packed with options and easy to use.Performance-wise, the Dreame L50 Ultra does a great job. The cleaning and obstacle-avoidance systems work beautifully—it maneuvers around furniture and obstacles without getting stuck, though small rugs can still trip it up once in a while. It’s not fast, and that’s just the trade-off with automation. After years of mopping and vacuuming by hand, I can confidently say I’m much quicker. But that’s the point—coming home to spotless floors without hauling buckets or pushing a vacuum is a luxury worth the wait.

Quick take: This is a premium vac-mop that actually cleans well and needs very little babysitting. It shines on hard floors and low to medium pile carpet. Price is high and battery efficiency could be better, but the overall experience feels genuinely hands off.My home and setupTwo-bedroom space with hardwood and a couple of low pile rugs, plus a shedding pet. I mapped once, divided rooms, set no-go and no-mop zones, then scheduled daily runs. I use standard suction and medium water for routine cleans, high suction for sandier spots.Build and navigationLidar mapping is quick and accurate. Obstacle avoidance is reliable enough that I do not pre-clean cables or shoes anymore. The robot keeps a straight path, returns to missed areas, and edges along baseboards without slamming into furniture.Thresholds and room transitionsThe climbing mechanism gets over door tracks that stop many bots. In practice that means fewer stuck alerts and fewer half-finished runs. It also lifts the mop pads when it rolls onto carpet, so mixed floor plans are not a problem.Vacuuming performanceHard floor pickup is excellent. Crumbs, rice, and pet hair disappear in a single pass, and corners clean up if I angle the side brush into the wall. On rugs, surface debris comes up easily. For gritty sand in the fibers I use a second pass on higher suction and it does the job.Mopping performanceThe dual spinning pads give real downward pressure, so dried coffee drips and light kitchen stains come up with a slow pass. Carpets stay dry thanks to the auto-lift. Edge coverage is better than average and the floor does not feel overly wet afterward when I keep the water level at medium.Docking and maintenanceThe base empties the dust, washes the pads with hot water, and dries them. That turns weekly maintenance into quick checks. I still empty the dirty water tank and top up clean water as needed, but I am not scrubbing pads by hand.Battery and noiseNoise is apartment friendly on standard power. Battery efficiency is fine for routine daily cleans, and the robot will recharge and resume for bigger jobs. If you want to vacuum on max power for very large spaces, expect a mid-run top up.What I like• Strong pickup on hard floors and pet hair• Reliable obstacle avoidance and room mapping• Threshold climbing that keeps runs continuous• Hands off dock that empties, washes, and driesWhat to know before buying• Premium price, so watch for promos• Battery efficiency is not class leading on higher suction• Consumables like dust bags, rollers, and pads add to long-term cost• The app is powerful but has a short learning curve to set zones and routines wellBottom lineIf you want a mostly hands off cleaner that vacuums and mops well and can handle tricky thresholds, this is easy to recommend. I would rate it 4 out of 5 for performance and autonomy, minus a star for the premium price and average battery efficiency on high.

Well I had ultimately hoped it would work great I was prepared for it to work, okay at best. I have been pleasantly surprised. It definitely does a better job than I would have done with the limited time I have, not to mention it does everyday without a problem. The obstacle avoidance works well, even if a little sensitive at times, but even after a couple of weeks I haven’t had to get it unstuck. In a house with 3 dogs and two toddlers im not sure our floors have been this clean on a regular basis since… ever lol.

Does a decent enough job at maintaining an already clean floor. Has a tough time getting edges and corners despite side-brush and mop extend functions being present. The carpet recognition function is a huge PITA to deal with but with some struggling you can set it up to vacuum carpets and mop around them.Speaking of the mopping I ended up sending the whole unit base station and all for warranty repair because after 2 months (past return period) the unit stopped dispensing water while mopping – a common complaint on the Dreame subreddit I found. It works again now.Overall it does the same job as some robots $500 cheaper do. The convenience features in my opinion after owning it aren’t really worth the price considering I still put up with several minor glitches and an app that works when it feels like it. I just wanted to come home to clean floors after being out for 14 hours all week and I spend too much time babysitting the thing. Will use till it dies then maybe consider another brand at mid-tier.
