This is SO MUCH BETTER than Google nest, hands down. Great product. Lots of features and relatively easy to setup.

I love these thermostats and the ability to control them with the app. Also nice that it is powered by electricity and not batteries. I also like the humidity reading and outdoor conditions.

Reliability and quality.
Ecobee Thermostat was easy to install and made from quality materials. Instructions are easy to follow. Only one misguide from verification guidance: If you wish not to use the PEK adapter your HVAC must have a common ground (blue wire) to power up device.

Expensive thermostat that doesn’t work
Do not buy unless you want an expensive thermostat that cannot actually sense the temperature accurately. I bought this thermostat to replace an old Robert Shaw. I like the features of the Ecobee and the app works okay once you understand how it works. The only problem is – it cannot do the most fundamental thing of providing the correct room temperature. The temperature swings up to 5 degrees when two digital thermometers sitting beside the Ecobee, changes one degree. This causes short cycling of the HVAC system. I really wanted to like the Ecobee, but unfortunately, it doesn’t work. I communicated with the manufacturer three different times and tried several troubleshooting suggestions. None resolved the issue. The remote sensor is working correctly but the main unit does not. This seems to be a fundamental flaw which Ecobee does not want to acknowledge.

Best thermostat on the market
Have had it installed for a couple days and seeing all the reports and amount of run time on the hvac unit is great. Love the ability to schedule and modify from my phone as well. Having the seperate sensor is also very nice so I know where to open and close ducts for more even heating/cooling.

Smart Thermostat
We upgraded our old thermostat to be more efficient with this smart one. Very easy to install and use, also accessible to control via the app. Highly recommend if you’re looking to switch your thermostat.

Ecobee is an Excellent thermostat. It will save you energy and money. And is very easy to install. The only negative thing is that it’s expensive. But it’s worth it if you want to save energy and control it with your phone.

I replaced my Honeywell thermostat with the smart thermostat. The install went really well, I watched some videos online of the install of this exact thermostat that helped. Ecobee’s install instructions were not good. I did have one problem with the thermostat not finding the remote sensor. I called Ecobee and they were fantastic at finding a solution. Amazing customer service. Would definitely recommend.

The thermostat and, almost as importantly, its app work very well and are easy to operate with an assortment of features and settings available. The thermostat and built-in hygrometer are sensitive to any air leakage that could occur through the mounting holes in the wall so special attention should be taken during installation.

Ecobee has disabled the developer API so this “smart” thermostat is now overpriced junk and not smart at all
