The Eufy Robovac 30 is a wonderful little vacuum!
The Eufy Robovac 30 is a wonderful little vacuum! It has far surpassed my expectations. After replacing carpet with dark hardwood floors in most of our 2400 sq. ft. home, I was finding it difficult to keep the dust bunnies at bay. I didn’t know anything about robot vacuums so I went online to do some research. I considered a lot of different brands but what caught my eye about the Robovac 30 was a combination of the positive customer service comments, price, and boundary strips. We have a combination of hardwood, low-medium shag carpet, vinyl, and tile. I was pleased to see that the Eufy Robovac 30 was reported to be effective on all of these surfaces and I have not been disappointed in the Robovac 30’s performance in my home.I was so happy about the effectiveness of my Robovac 30 and the amount of time it saved me that I encouraged my daughter to try it in her home for a few days to see if she would like me to get her one for Christmas. My daughter and son-in-law live in a 2-story home and have 2 indoor cats. After using my Robovac 30 she was sold so I ordered them one for Christmas. The Robovac 30 works wonderfully in her home keeping it free of cat fur. They have a combination of light wood, tile, and carpet. It cleans everything except the stairs. Her Robovac 30 did fall down the stairs once but she said she now leaves on a light and it has never fallen again. She also only cleans when she is at home and does not schedule cleanings. She has had her Robovac 30 since Christmas 2018 and it is still performing well. After about 10.5 months, my Eufy Robovac 30 began turning itself on and cleaning at random, making a really loud grinding sound when cleaning rugs and maneuvering over transition pieces, and it seemed to get confused and clean in circles or keep going over the same area again and again. I cleaned my Robovac 30 thoroughly, replaced the side brushes and cleaning brush, and cleaned the sensors but it continued to be much less effective and noisy. After trying different things for about 3 weeks, I called Eufy customer service, and talked to a representative who was extremely polite and helpful. She asked me a few questions and had me try a couple of things. She then stated that it should not be acting that way and I was sent a replacement in a few days. She did ask me to write a review discussing my experience.I have waited several weeks before reviewing my replacement Robovac 30 since I wanted to see how the new machine works. Something I noticed with both Robovac 30s, they seem to clean better and transitions more easily through the house after 2-3 weeks of use. They both seemed to stay in one area and not move easily from once type of flooring to another at the beginning. After several weeks, I am very pleased with my replacement Robovac 30.Features and Comments:-Running time – On hardwood floors with different size area rugs, my Robovac 30 will clean for between 90 – 105 minutes when fully charged. Running time is less on carpeted areas. For reference, I section off my house into small areas since I like to clean each area thoroughly. It takes 2 full charges to clean my entire house.-Thoroughness of cleaning – I can’t believe how thoroughly this vacuum cleans. It is truly amazing. I used to vacuum my floors with a canister vacuum and then Swiffer with dry cloths before mopping. Now I just run the Robovac 30 while doing something else and then mop. Amazing! I also love that it will clean under most of my furniture, especially under the beds.-Finding its way back to the docking station – I only use my vacuum when I am at home due to the fact that I still have some area rugs with fringe and long drapes that puddle on the floor in some areas. Also, my elderly mother lives with us and I am afraid that she might trip over the vacuum if I am not there to supervise. Therefore, I use the boundary strips to block off certain areas so that I know where the vacuum is at all times. If the Robovac 30 is able to get to the docking station when its battery starts running low, it does an amazing job of docking; however, I typically just pick it up and return it once I hear it slowing down.-Remote and scheduling cleanings– I don’t often use the remote and never schedule it to clean for the reasons mentioned above. The few times I have used the remote, I have been mostly pleased. It works wonderfully for spot and edge cleaning. I will occasionally use the manual cleaning to direct the Robovac 30 to a certain area but for me it is faster to pick it up and move it rather than using the remote. I have never scheduled a cleaning so I can’t comment on that feature.-Boundary strips – I love the boundary strips since we have a very open floor plan and they easily allow me to block off certain areas and confine the Robovac 30. Due to convenience, my floor plan, different floor textures, some rooms getting more use than others, and my mother’s safety, I section off my house into segments of about 300 sq. ft. to clean at a time. This way I can target the rooms that get used the most and are therefore need extra cleaning, keep the Robovac 30 out of rooms that have clutter or things that need to be removed, and know where it is at all times. I also feel that the rooms are more thoroughly cleaned. If not confined, the Robovac 30 will randomly move throughout the house and some areas may not get cleaned before the battery dies. I have cut and taped sections of the boundary strips to yard sticks and use these to block off areas. The Robovac 30 won’t run over the magnetic strips but it can push the yard stick across the floor, so it is necessary to either place the yard stick in a doorway so that the door frame prevents the yard stick from being pushed through the door or place something heavy either on or behind the yard stick so it can’t be moved. It is then easy to store the yard sticks standing up in a closet and have them ready to lay down each time they are needed.-Babysitting – Since I remove items that the Robovac 30 can get tangled in, I rarely have to rescue it.-Cleaning the Robovac 30/maintenance – Cleaning is easy but it is necessary to do so on the recommended schedule. After cleaning each area that I have sectioned off in my house, I empty the dust bin. This may not be necessary but cleaning effectiveness will be decreased if the bin is allowed to get too full and it is amazing how fast it can fill up. I don’t consider this a flaw in the Robovac 30, but a fact applying to all robot vacuums. I did originally have difficulty removing the roller ball to clean it. To easily remove the roller ball, use a small pair of needle-nosed pliers. Gently squeeze the pliers on the sides of the roller and pull straight up. This does not take a lot of force and works well.-Customer service – Excellent! I was shocked that I received such courteous customer service and a new vacuum when my original Robovac 30’s warranty was due to expire in less than a month. The replacement vacuum came with a 90 day warranty instead of a full year, but that is understandable.-Replacement parts – All replacement parts (side brushes, filters, etc.) are easily purchased from Amazon.Overall, I am very pleased with my Eufy Robovac 30 and would purchase again!

One month review – this one is the keeper
I evaluated 3 different robots in my house, the first was Dreame X40 Ultra, the second is this one, and the third was Ecovacs X5 Pro Omni. The first thing I evaluated was navigation – the base station location in my house is kind of cornered by a large dining room table with 12 chairs around it. Navigating out of this area (or underneath it when it’s time to clean that area under the table) is a pretty critical skill for my house. This is where the Dreame X40 Ultra started to piss me off. It was constantly getting confused by the table and chair legs, pausing for long periods of time and trying to determine what to do. It would often “give up” on the task and just return to base telling me mission accomplished, when it hadn’t even begun to clean! In addition, cleaning the whole was very inefficient, and would take f o r e v e r. As a contrast, the Eufy S1 Pro is very efficient. It’s obstacle avoidance for stationary objects is amazing. It navigates its way around, and next to almost everything, and just finds ways to continue the cleaning path without getting confused. Its cleaning path itself is very clear, and is executed fast and without any hesitations. The roller mop provides excellent coverage compared to the other 2 robots’ duo rotating mops, which often leaves uncovered areas. Its edge cleaning is sufficient, though not perfect, and has improved vastly once I set the obstacle avoidance level in the app to its least sensitive setting. Its mopping is great, and feels very similar to my upright Eufy v1 Mach Ultra which is a very good mopper. The existence of an onboard dirty water tank on the robot and the fact the brush continuously self-cleans itself, is a standout feature compared to almost all other robots, and it allows the robot to return to base much less often, thus further improving the efficiency. It also means it deals with wet stains better, although if you expect it to be able to absorb meaningful amounts of spilled fluids, it’s not going to happen. The reason is that unlike the upright mop, the robot separates between the dirty water tank (which is basically the dirty water continuously being extracted from the roller using a squeegee), and the vacuum, which has its own dust bin, and that one needs to stay dry. So no suction of fluids, but still better at mopping wet stains than any of the other robots out there. The vacuuming is also good, although I wouldn’t say this is its stand out feature – there are probably better vacuuming robots out there, so if vacuuming is what you mostly care about – I would give other robots a second look. I don’t use it with my room carpets, only an area rug in the living room, which it can handle easily. Apart from that, the only real problem I faced with this robot is that there is a specific bathroom mat we use which for some robot this robot tried to vacuum and ends up sucking it to its vacuum port, getting the robot stuck and in need of manual assistance to get untangled. I worked around it by placing a small bathroom stool to block the robot from going over this mat. I could have also placed a virtual barrier in the app that it won’t cross.Final word – I had the X5 Pro Omni in my house last week and I had some high hopes, but I returned it right after the fist cleaning. Main reason: the robot got completely tangled in the fringes of my area rug to a point I had to manual untangle it multiple times. Unlike the bathroom mat, I can’t really avoid this rug if I want it properly vacuumed, so it seems like a non starter for me.In summary, after having seen all 3 robots in action, I think the Eufy S1 Pro stands out big time on most features, including its mopping, cleaning efficiency, obstacle avoidance, and navigation. Its base station is also great, as it self cleans, empties dirty water, washing mops, and refill clean water – all fully automated. Its noise level is probably not its best trait, although completely manageable IMO, as it’s only loud for brief periods of time when the base self-cleans (about 2-3 minutes at the end). Vacuuming at max level will probably also be quite loud, but I use the lower, standard suction setting.

Ok, this thing is AMAZING. Seriously. My hubby and I have a 750 sq/ft condo, all laminate hardwood (except for a tiled bathroom), and we pride ourselves on a clean home. We vacuum daily with our Dyson, and thoroughly clean our home weekly.I’m having back surgery soon, so I thought it would be a good idea to get this little Eufy to help keep our home in top shape. It arrived yesterday, and it was easy peasy to set up, and charged itself rather efficiently. My hubby had already vacuumed our condo in the morning, so I wasn’t expecting the Eufy to pick up much in its first run around the house. (Like I said, we pride ourselves on our clean home.) Anyways…low and behold, when I opened up the Eufy’s dirt receptacle, my mind was officially blown. It was already half full of dirt/dust/etc that the little Eufy had picked up on what we had thought was an already ‘clean’ floor! What?!?! This is amazing!!! So amazing, in fact, that I took a picture to show you all.Other awesome things are that it’s super quiet, bumps into things gently (rather than ramming into them), and the magnetic boundary strips work like a charm. We put them around our puppy’s pee pad – I’ve heard horror stories of poop being dragged around by robot vacuums, lol, so the magnetic boundary strips are brilliant!Totally recommend this. We are so, SO impressed!

WHAT. I run my other robot mop DAILY. Sometimes more than that in a day. I still have the water from it cleaning yesterday (image 1) I ran the eufy for the first time today and this is the water?! (Image 2) what has my mop been doing? It is just as expensive as a mop but uses the spinning mop pads. I did not expect the roller pressure and cleaning the roller as it goes to make this drastic of a difference. I will see how maintaining it is and will update when I know.OTHER MOP (my last one)Shreds its own mop pads when it cleans them in the base stationHas ran over pet poop more times than I can count despite that was their #1 selling point at the timeIt uses the entire container of water with one cleanI will update if there’s any similar complaints will this S1 pro!OCT 30Well it’s been only a few days since we got it and my dog really has it out for this thing. Unfortunately if your lights are off. Its poop recognition isn’t great understandably. It was surprisingly a lot easier to clean after the disaster than I expected and have experienced with other robots. I think either the vacuum or the mop handled the majority. Yikes. But there wasn’t really any traces besides in the wheels which are unfortunately just as hard to clean as others. It is way better at avoiding hitting things than our previous ones, and some how way better at picking up debris with the vacuum than our previous one with lower suction. It’s went over crazy amounts of crumbs and had no problem. It is EXTREMELY nice that when clean water is poured in the part it pours its dirty water, that the pump turns on. Meaning I can clean out the lines with water very easily. The parts on this vacuum come apart to clean so well that I feel I can actually properly clean it. Not like there’s Internal parts that I can’t access that will build up dirt over time. The only thing you can’t access is the clean water tank which should never get dirty anywaysI will continue to update as I learn moreNov 1This thing is still picking up dirt off our floor. We have not reached clear water like we have with my old robot yet

This is a must have for people with pets – even if you have an army of maids and servants in an indian home. Your cleaning maid can just now pick up the amount of dust, pet hair, dirt and all kinds of other rubbish – specially under the beds, sofas and other furniture. I have tried the Deebot 500. In short, it was pathetic compared to this. The deebot made a lot of whining/grinding noise while moving, the app kept loosing connection to the bot and was an absolutely pathetic experience overall. This eufy doesn’t have an app and cannot be controlled by alexa/google home. But dont be disappointed by that. What it has is even better – it has an old school physical remote. Now that remote does not allow you to set multiple cleaning schedules like deebot’s app BUT it allows something even more convenient and nifty – it allows you to MANUALLY control the robot (full directional motion, including reverse and including forward acceleration!). This is an absolutely brilliant feature which nobody talks about and even their product marketing does not mention. This allows me to easily spot clean a carpet or other dirty surface manually for a minute and then send the robot back home!Let’s talk about return to home function for a bit – this robot’s return to home is LIGHT YEARS ahead of Deebot. I was shocked to find how easily and smartly it detects the charger/base station. It’s algorithms are simply far superior to Deebot. It will first follow the walls from room to room till it reaches about 10 feet from the charger, and then it simply starts moving straight to the charger. We even have some furniture between the robot and charger’s line of sight – it simply moves AROUND them when it is within 10 feet. It seems to be using some form of laser based radar to detect the charger. Pretty neat for this price point! This robot is the first of many robot vacuums in my 2400 square feet house that has a success rate of 95% of cleaning on schedule and then returning to its base station everyday! And that is the one thing that matters MOST in a robot vacuumThe 2 strips that they included for free are also a unique feature – i’ve installed them in the balcony doors and the entrance door and it never crosses them. They’ve even included a spare HEPA filter! All in all a very good package for the price!

    ## Detailed Review of Eufy Robovac G30 Hybrid Robot Vacuum CleanerI had high hopes for the Eufy Robovac G30 Hybrid Robot Vacuum Cleaner, but unfortunately, my experience with this device has been less than satisfactory. While it boasts numerous features and a sleek design, several key shortcomings prevent it from being a reliable and efficient cleaning companion.Firstly, the cleaning performance is inconsistent. Despite its claim of strong suction power, the Robovac G30 often misses spots, especially along corners and edges. It tends to leave behind dust and debris in hard-to-reach areas, necessitating additional manual cleaning. The vacuum struggles with larger debris as well, frequently pushing it around rather than picking it up. This inconsistency detracts from its primary purpose of offering hands-free, thorough cleaning. The mapping feature, which is supposed to optimize cleaning paths, is also problematic. The Robovac G30 frequently loses its way, causing it to cover the same area multiple times while completely ignoring others. This inefficiency is frustrating, particularly in larger spaces. It also has a tendency to get stuck under furniture or in tight spaces, requiring frequent intervention to free it. This defeats the purpose of a robot vacuum meant to operate independently.Battery life is another major drawback. Despite its advertised runtime, the Robovac G30 barely manages to clean a small apartment on a single charge. After about 40-50 minutes of operation, it needs to return to its charging base, often before completing the job. This short battery life significantly reduces its effectiveness, especially for larger homes or thorough cleaning sessions. The hybrid mop function is particularly underwhelming. While it seems like a great addition, in practice, it barely dampens the floor and often leaves streaks. The water reservoir is small, requiring frequent refills even during a single cleaning session. The mop pad itself doesn’t provide a deep clean and is more of a surface-level cleaner, failing to handle any dried-on stains or spills effectively.Additionally, the app connectivity and control, while convenient, have their own set of issues. The app occasionally loses connection with the vacuum, making it difficult to start or stop cleaning cycles remotely. Firmware updates, which are supposed to improve performance, sometimes introduce new bugs or issues, leading to more frustration. In terms of build quality, the Robovac G30 feels sturdy and has a sleek design that looks good in any home. However, the constant need for manual intervention, whether for clearing jams or adjusting its path, detracts significantly from its convenience.Overall, while the Eufy Robovac G30 Hybrid Robot Vacuum Cleaner has potential, its numerous flaws make it hard to recommend. For the price point, I expected a more reliable and efficient cleaning experience. There are other models on the market that offer better performance, longer battery life, and more reliable navigation. Until these issues are addressed, I would advise potential buyers to consider other options.
