Reliable and connects to Apple Home just great
Great for my side gate so I can see if anyone enters my yard while away. Also I have it connected to Apple Home and it plays a siren sound through my HomePods if gate opened while I am home to alert me.

absolute brick on Echo
I’ll update this review if I find a solution, but as of 7/17 here we are.I was excited to buy this as I’m trying to transition my smart home to Matter over Thread products and i’ve long wanted Eve products but couldn’t use them with my Echo ecosystem. So far, I can’t use it at all.My Echo (4th gen, hub) can detect this, but has thus far been unable to add it to my account. The Eve app won’t add it and redirects me to the app formerly known as Homekit on my iPhone. my iPhone apparently only counts as a Thread Controller, not a Thread Border Router, so the app yells at me that I need a Home compatible hub that I don’t want or need as I have six Echoes, and then does nothing.so if anyone’s trying to be an early Matter adapter, this thing doesn’t work worth a damn with Echo for me and is probably due to Apple or Eve themselves.

Best Thread Sensor Available (for now)
[Update] Since I wrote this, I have purchased a few more. I have actually removed one of the gripes I had in my earlier review because I figured out that I needed to read the instructions.:-). That said, one thing to look out for: some earlier versions of this come “HomeKit compatible” and not “Thread/Matter” compatible out of the box. When you install it, it gives you the option to upgrade to Matter support, but then the QR code changes. Unfortunately you only find out which one you have once it’s on your network. It’s not a big deal, but if you ever have to set it up again, the QR code on the sensor won’t be the one you need to use to set it up again. If you update it, make sure to save that QR code [/Update]First off, let me get this out of the way. If you want a Threat-based window/door sensor, this is the only one you should be looking at. There aren’t a lot of other choices, but this is the only one I have found that continues working after 24 hours (I won’t name names, but the other ones know who they are). Of course, check the date of this review, as things may get better but for now, don’t waste your time with anybody else.I was extremely happy to see how well integrated this was with HomeKit. Once I connected the sensor to my HomeKit network, I saw that there was an update ready and it immediately started downloading and installed without any action from me. This is how these devices should work.I have always heard that Eve’s products were well designed, but I had always shied away from them because they weren’t always the least expensive option. That said, this has been a very good experience for me, and I will buy more of these sensors as soon as I get the warm fuzzy that it will stay working after a week. (Being on the bleeding edge of Thread is not without its frustrations.)

Deserves nothing less than a 5-star rating. Highly recommended!
The Eve Door & Window Sensor is hands down the best sensor I have ever used! With its advanced technology, it offers accuracy and reliability, giving me peace of mind knowing that my home is completely safe and secure. The setup process was effortless and the Matter compatibility made it easy to integrate it with my existing smart home appliances. The design easily blends in with any decor and the long battery life ensures that I do not have to worry about replacing the batteries frequently. The alerts and notifications on my phone keep me informed of any activity around the house, making it easy to keep an eye on things even when I am away. With its exceptional performance and top-notch features, the Eve Door & Window Sensor deserves nothing less than a 5-star rating. Highly recommended!

Easy to setup and install
I own the older version of Eve Door & Window and this model is way more responsive while Matter adds the flexibility of using Siri, Alexa, and Google Assistant.Note: You do need a hub of some sort. I use my second generation Apple TV 4K as a hub, but it also works with some devices from Amazon, Google and Samsung. It runs off of a ER14250 battery which is included.I use Eve Door & Window to be notified if someone in the family opens or closes a window at home. I can also check the Eve app to remotely see if I left a window open. I’m excited to use Eve Door & Window to setup automations for my next IOT project.

Meh
I want to like this sensor but it’s always disconnecting on my Apple Home. It is bigger than my Aqara sensor I have in my other door.

Great smart contact sensor from Eve
The Eve Door & Window sensor is another great product from Eve. Setup with Matter is very easy. I am using this as part of my Apple HomeKit home. All I have to do is scan the QR code on the product and my phone automatically connects to the sensor and adds it to my home. I setup my sensors as a door sensor to check if the front door to my house is closed. You can also add automations like turning on a closet light when the door is open. Additionally, with Matter support this Eve product now works with Alexa and Google Home! I am very impressed by the ease of setup and responsiveness of this product and highly recommend it for anyone looking for a smart home contact sensor.

I did everything required. I ended up ordering 2 appletvs because it wasn’t clear upfront on the requirements but waved that off on my own ignorance. After ensuring the proper AppleTV for the thread border router was the correct product, I went through weeks of support (a lot of no responses) with absolutely no success. I’ve returned the product and going with something else.

Apparently some of these have overly tough to remove battery compartments which are a struggle even when it’s not applied to a surface and I’d imagine infinitely worse when adhered. This is unacceptable at any price point, but it’s worse at the premium they charge for their products.
