I replaced my current smart thermostat with the google nest thermostat. This works very well with our two stage AC compressor and does an excellent job managing my home HVAC. The only drawback is that it must work with a GOOGLE MESH. If you dont want that option, try a different GOOGLE product or different product altogether. When I lost my GOOGLE MESH to a lightning strike, I lost my connection to the product and HAD to replace the GOOGLE MESH to get it working.
I have purchased two of these thermostats. One for my apartment and one for my parents house. Both of these thermostats were easy to install and work great! I especially love the dual thermostat mode…. where you can set a range of temperature… For example… if the temperature drops below 70 degrees kick on the Heat… If the temperature rises above 73 degrees kick on the Air Conditioner. This is especially useful for apartments/houses with poor insulation and the temperature constantly fluctuates throughout the week. (My apartment windows don't have a UV film on them so during the day the temperature rises to nearly 80 degrees even in the winter. Rather than having to constantly adjust the thermostat… the nest knows to automatically kick in AC and Heat when needed…. I highly recommend.
