The Inateck BCST-560B is a wireless barcode scanner with 3 modes of connection. USB A to USB C wired connection. 2.4 Wireless via the charging base connected via USB to a PC and Bluetooth. I connected using all 3 methods. To change connection from the base to Bluetooth you scan the barcodes in the manual: scan ENTER SETUP mode then scan the Bluetooth barcode then scan SAVE AND EXIT barcode. We had no problems with any of the connection methods. Scanning and interpretation of barcodes is middle of the road in our tests. Several scans missed characters and rapid multiple scans have the dreaded pause after scanning 4 or 5 barcodes. This puts the scanner on the high end of mid-grade scanners. Feature wise a lot of engineering went into the base, connectivity and an app that supports various models of the manufacturers barcode scanners. To me this is all headed in the right direction. I do feel however that not all of the pieces are meshing correctly. Sometimes innovation exceeds utility. Engineers trying to do so much that they forget some of the very basic tenants of barcode scanners. If you cannot program the unit, often times expensive scanners get thrown out or stuffed into a drawer to be thrown out later. I have seen it many times in my industry. Then they are never bought again by that customer or end user. This is a fairly good barcode scanner but it loses a full star rating for lack of documentation, specifically programming barcodes. In many industries that use barcode scanners you must either omit or add characters to barcodes. Some symbologies have compact barcodes that need to be converted into full size ones before being interpreted by the database and other factors. I think you understand what I am getting at here. Barcode scanners are usually programmed by scanning “programming barcodes” The top selling and preferred in the industry all include at the very minimum those handful of programming barcodes, if not all of them printed and in the package. Some manufacturers have a website you can go to for them. This particular model has neither at the time of this review publication. I went to manufacturers site and could not even find this model on its barcode scanner support pages. Inateck has an app for IOS and Android that helps with a few settings and firmware updates. They point you to an AI bot that is supposed to help you with the device. It simply took several minutes to tell me it could not connect to its servers and try again later. That was not helpful at all. Imagine this, a technician brings this barcode scanner to a retailer who needs a barcode scanner. The customer informs the technician that the items in the database are not scanning. Technician is informed that POS requires the barcode scanner to omit the check digit on UPC barcodes. The barcode scanner gets sent back. What I am getting at when we deliver barcode scanners, often it is right at the point of sale so minor programming needs to be done on the spot. Without printed barcodes, perfectly good units get sent back because minor adjustments cannot be made due to lack of a few programming barcodes. That is one of the reasons we don’t usually inventory this brand. For scanning generic UPC, EAN, 128, 39, QR and other barcodes this is a decent scanner. I really wish they would provide the necessary programming codes because this is a good product.FOLLOWUP: I received a response from Inateck support. They replied that the app allows you to make barcode programming changes. I am familiar with that app. It does work on another barcode scanner I have from them but it did not work on this particular model. They sent me the programming manual (that I could not find on the website) this was a manual for another barcode scanner. That is acceptable. Often times manufacturers make many models of a class of device that use the same underlying programming codes. I am impressed by the prompt response. I am still withholding a star because this unit should have been updated on the website and properly documented prior to release. Failure to properly document a product can end up with wasted products and frustrated end users.

Kein Kabelsalat mehr, einfach die Smart Base hinstellen und gut ist. Er verbindet sich super flexibel – egal ob über Bluetooth, 2,4G oder ganz klassisch per USB. Ich habe ihn sowohl am PC als auch am Smartphone getestet, und überall läuft er zuverlässig.Lesen kann er wirklich alles: klassische 1D-Barcodes, moderne 2D-Codes wie QR oder Matrix – sogar auf dem Bildschirm von Handys erkennt er die Codes ohne Probleme. Gerade im Lager oder wenn man schnell Seriennummern erfassen will, ist das ein echter Gewinn. Auch die Reichweite überzeugt: man kann sich frei bewegen, ohne dass die Verbindung abreißt.Dazu kommt, dass er robust verarbeitet ist. Er wirkt stabil genug für den täglichen Einsatz im Büro, im Lager oder auch im Einzelhandel. Für den Preis finde ich das Gesamtpaket echt stark – und es ist ein Produkt, das man nicht nach ein paar Wochen schon wieder austauschen will.Kurz gesagt: Für mich ein Scanner, der alles kann, was man heute braucht. Praktisch, zuverlässig und ein echter Mehrwert im Alltag.

Ho apprezzato anche la robustezza: pur avendolo fatto cadere un paio di volte non si è danneggiato. Non è uno scanner minuscolo, ma resta comunque leggero e maneggevole anche per sessioni lunghe. Nel complesso, un prodotto affidabile e versatile, perfetto per chi lavora in vendita, logistica o gestione inventario.
