Scans well, odd configuration
This is a no-frills, but functional scanner It reads barcodes well, though not super close – you have to be about 4 inches away. It’s grip is comfortable and fits my hand well. There is a single clunky switch in the back to power it on and off.What struck me as really odd were three things.1) It uses a USB-B connector, not micro or type c. Very odd. Maybe to make it more sturdy and prevents the more common wear that is associated with smaller connectors, just don’t loose it or you’d be stealing one from an old printer.2) The 2.4 GHz dongle is huge – bigger than most modern flash drives, and with no place to store it. (more about this later)3) The setup is done with an app, which is nice, since it doesn’t require keeping a bunch of setup barcodes handy, but the app will not function without location permissions turned on. This strikes me as some attempt to gather information about the user, which I certainly do not like.There is absolutely no display on the scanner short of a power light – not much of a problem, since I’m not reading the scanner to see if it “got it right” anyway. It also has no storage for scanning in bulk and downloading later.Overall the scanning is fast via Bluetooth to my computer, though the pairing name of BCST-72-1A1D-UNI was a bit odd. With the app on my Android phone, it asks to pair every time.I never got the 2.4G dongle to work. My computer recognizes the dongle as a “USB input device”, but never is there any data from the scanner. That the scanner is connecting to it is clear, because it won’t connect via Bluetooth to my phone when the dongle is plugged into my pc, but will when I unplug it.These bizarre things caused a low rating, but as a simple, no-frills Bluetooth or USB-b wired scanner it works just fine.

Great Scanner!
This is a very good barcode scanner! I tried a bunch of different barcodes and it was able to pick them all up with no issue, the scan accuracy is great. You can scan (I’m certain of) almost all codes, ranging from QR codes to typical barcodes. This scanner easily connects with Bluetooth, I didn’t have any issues connecting it to my PC. The battery seems to last a good amount of time. It also has a connectivity app, which makes connecting and managing the barcode scanner, more easy. Even barcodes that aren’t printed very clearly, it can still pick them up which impressed me.I would definitely recommend.
