Good quality at 1/4 the price of the name brand
Okay so nest wanted me to pay 200 dollars for new equipment as they were no longer going to be supporting that generation that I owned. I was pretty PO’d after spending so much money. I decided to do some shopping around and found that nest is not the only game in town. Welcome to Amazon. Had these installed quite easily and connected to the WiFi within an hour. Works well and I have no complaints. Nest should learn a lesson. They go high and consumer will go looking for low. I have no loyalty to any product only my wallet. Thank you Amazon!!

As good as the new one that I bought previously
I’d been holding off on buying this thermostat for quite some time based on reviews and even considered other pricier brands for the same reason but I finally decided to give it a try because I’m sick of having to go over to the thermostat and manually adjust it (first world problem right?)I am so pleased with my decision that immediately after installing it, I bought this renewed unit to replace our second thermostat upstairs.Installation was easy and took about 15-20 minutes to install and set up in the app. The unit mounts with 3 screws and anchors, a small screwdriver tool and an optional wall plate. A word of advice – use a better screwdriver because the included tool isn’t great. You’ll also need a drill with a 3/8” bit to assist with the wall anchors.This renewed unit is just as good as the new one I purchased at half the cost! It came with new mounting hardware and when comparing side by side, I could not tell you which one was which. I’d absolutely make the same decision to purchase the renewed unit again.Some of the reviews I’d read in the past mentioned that people had trouble with the app recognizing two thermostats, that was not the case at all with me. It was extremely easy to differentiate in the app and just as easy to control each one.Another review that made me worry about buying this thermostat was that you couldn’t simply tell your Alexa device to adjust the temperature, and that you had to open the app to make adjustments. This problem must have been resolved or a solitary issue because ours works just fine with voice commands.This thermostat does not offer a sensor option to monitor a particular room or area, so if you’re looking for that, you may need to look at other options.As far as smart settings, you have two options. Alexa can learn your routines and track your phone’s location to adjust the temperatures accordingly when you’re home or away. This works best when everyone in the household connects to the app and consents to tracking. It will even adjust the temperature to your desired settings when you’re within a certain range of your home.If this option isn’t for you, it will allow you to set schedules and desired temperature ranges throughout each day of the week. But you’re still able to log into the app and make adjustments when needed.

Hunches & Thermostat & Customer Services
Thermostat works like a basically Thermostat because interaction with hunches as seen in many fourms doesn’t work well… you could set a schedule but my old one had a schedule setup. I was looking for something that would work better than a schedule since my hours of being home change all the time. So when I leave hunches is suppose to pick up on that and set my thermostat on away temp. Same for sleep… it’s set itself to sleep while I was away but barely picks up when I’m away properly. I’ve called tech and they just sent me to some other company who only had me reset router and thermostat and that’s about all they can do. I have researched it and had little luck other than being told Amazon tech logs in logs and a few days later everyone says it works. So far I’m not getting the same support and feel stuck debating installing my previous honeywell thermostat back up. (Update) after much troubleshooting on my own, I called back to customer support and informed them of my previous attempts and what all I have done and about the fourms I read that seem to fix the issue. I asked that we troubleshoot it and if we can’t fix it that I get a refund. Customer service went straight into refund with not attempt to fix it. Then told me they would return the funds as credit as that’s how I purchased it and that it would take 3 to 4 days after I send it back before I get a refund… my response was so I’m suppose to wait for the refund before I can order a new thermostat and then wait for deliever of a new one without their attempt to troubleshoot and basically go a week without a thermostat… answer was yes. Support was worthless and so was this thermostat… spend the extra money and get a google nest or ecobee… you’ll be glad you did to avoid Customer service for a bit that works as it is attended too.

Best smart thermostat under 100 bucks – pro tip if you have echo
If you dont want to spend on the Nest, this is a no brainer best choice for 50 bucks. No fluff easy to use thermostat, especially if you have Echo device with temperature sensor on it that can act as another sensor for the thermostat – useful to control different rooms differently (app has this option).
