Overall good camera just wish it came in black with faster fps
This is a large camera especially with solar panel so don’t expect to place it discretely. You can turn off the status light so that’s a plus. Also, this one came in white and yes I painted it a matt black using Rustoleum professional series spray with no issues just take your time, cover things up that don’t need to be painted and do light sprays and several coats letting it dry between. I’ve done this with numerous brand cameras but make sure it works great for say a week before doing so. Reolink even states you can paint but obviously run a risk with warranty if you just soaked it in paint so test you paint on some paper first. With that said overall it is a good camera. Motion track works pretty good. Max framerate is only 15 fps on this model so you will get some blur(i.e. ghosting) if say someone runs by it really fast or rides by it on an off-road vehicle. Daytime, animals can walk by and it remains clear. Night time I believe the fps may drop slightly as it will blur if they are walking by like a fox. Zoom lens is I would say ok, not great but not bad either. The lights on this thing will light up a very large area and are very bright. I have used it for over a month now and have a mix of sun and shade throughout day from trees but still remain at 100% battery. I use this primarily as a game camera and using hardwired outdoor wifi units (POE not wifi backhaul) I can set it up 200-300 yards away and still get decent response times.

Worthless in Winter
If you are worried about this product having trouble staying charged in the winter because of cloud cover, it’s even worse than you think. Riolink disables charging the camera in any form, whether that’s solar or having it plugged in, below 32 degrees Fahrenheit.This means that if you want to charge this product in the winter, you must take it inside and wait for it to warm up. But wait, there’s more, because they didn’t give this a removable mount so if you have screwed it in somewhere, including say a garage, you must now unscrew it multiple times for winter until eventually you will need to drill new holes.Speaking of drilling new holes, the mounting hardware this ships with is completely inadequate for anything but drywall so don’t even try or you will find yourself with a major headache when you do eventually need to take it down and because the mount is not removable, getting to the screws is incredibly awkward.It claims to be able to get 6 months off of one full charge, but mine is lucky to last 2 weeks, so I guess they’re measuring the battery life if it never turns on?As far as operation goes, it does still seem to function below freezing. The night vision is not very good and the clarity of image is not anything to write home about.At almost $200 brand new, this product feels incredibly amateurish.

But It might be wise to think about use cases and placement. Before purchasing this unit. Yet still offers high precision colours.3 Detection zone failures. Sometimes the camera won’t detect a person or object if it is less then 35% in the frame ( example a head and upper torso ) might not trigger the cams auto detect. This has happened on some occasions when testing this. Works 95% of the timeFinal thought; 5 out of 5With this units overall high cost of entry. This might be for some, a higher price to pay. For an innovative design that somewhat fails to hit the mark 100% of the time. If you own the bay station and other cameras from this company then it will be a great addition to your security setup. But you must always keep in mind, that with new tech their might be some bugs that need ironing out. So always update you’re firmware and keep you’re troubleshooting guide handy and you will be fine.

I’ve been using Reolink products for a decade now and I’ve always been satisfied with the value & quality of their cameras. This TrackMix 4K solar security camera has really nice video quality in daytime and really good night time also.It was easy adding the camera on my phone via the Android APP.It has dual camera’s, one wide angle gives you a large view of my entire backyard, while the telephoto lens zooms in on things it’s tracking. On the APP each lens has it’s own video feed that you can view.The smart tracking works really good on people and pets also. Since it’s setup in our backyard we don’t have any car traffic but it also has vehicule tracking.The advantages of a battery solar powered security camera is that you can set it up anywhere and you don’t need to run network cable or plug it to a power outlet. Also you camera will keep working even during a power outage as long as your battery has a charge.Another big advantage of Reolink is that they don’t force you into a subscription and spend money monthly to be able to fully use the camera and all it’s features.Yes they offer cloud recording but you can also use a Reolink NVR or Hub, setup your own “NVR” on computer and use the PC software and finally record locally on a SD card.If you need a solar security camera with great video quality, PTZ capabilities and not be tied down to a subscription model, the Reolink TrackMix is probably one of the best quality & value you can get.

The 3d unwrapping feature helps the app see undistorted lines and shapes. Providing you with a more true to life view of a person or object. Having a remote view of someone at you’re door step really adds a sense of security and peace of mind. I never thought it would be so useful until I installed this little gem. Now I see when my amazon packages arrive and Who’s driving the vehicle. I can talk to the person directly or leave messages that will chime when needed. I can see the uber eats delivery guy arrive so I am ready to greet him. I see when my family and friends come for a visit unexpectedly. It really is amazing how I’ve missed out all these years of not having this security feature installed.Final thought; 5 out of 5The back door is always a source of anxiety since it’s the second point of entry to you’re home. Keeping this in mind most back entry ways aren’t visible from inside you’re domicile. With this dual lens camera you can finally put those worries to rest.
